  1. It works one of two ways: 1) You target an enemy, activate the power, and it buffs Tank damage. 2) You target an enemy, activate the power, and for every foe in range of the effect either a) they get sucked into the middle or b) they are immune to repel and get phased instead.
  2. You know, I'd be happy if Dominators (only) got a Giant Black Cat power customization option. Maybe based on the ones in Night Ward?
  3. Some alternatives I've thought up since reading the post above: Astonishing Ambush Brilliant Barrage Deafening Display Ferocious Fusillade Overwhelming Onslaught Shimmering Salvo Volatile Volley Flabbergasting Blast All offered freely.
  4. Ha! I was told that the moose meant "I read your whole post". I'm glad no one knows what's what on some of these 🙂
  5. Lol, it makes it hard for me to decide what to roll and level up first: do I want buffs or salt? 🙂
  6. I went to Perez Park with my lvl 50 Pyro/ Kin Controller, and I was pleased that the Blast Off effect from Incendiary Aura knocked level 7 Clockwork UP not BACK. Overall, I like what the set does, and really like how it looks and sounds. I think once the numbers have been crunched this will be a popular set.
  7. Cool chart! I think my Vigilantes tend to be Pragmatic Saviors, and my Rogues tend to be Ambiguous Pragmatists. I would love to see a well-done Nihilistic Savior character!
  8. I wouldn't. I think that things like specific weaknesses in the way you are describing work best in a more analog, more roleplaying-oriented game environment. With a GM that is taking the Player Character group's weaknesses and strengths into account when designing scenarios and settings, weaknesses can be awesome, and a great way to make a moment more poignant (The Hero braces themselves and runs into the super-freezer to save the hostages, despite having no protection from cold!). However, when designing content for an MMO, how do you make missions or quests that don't make people regret building their character a certain way? I think the "come one come all!" aspect of an MMO means that specific and dramatic weaknesses would require so many content options that players can choose to skip content that punishes their character choices more than they are willing to tolerate. Of course, finding teammates whose abilities cover for your character's weaknesses is a great solution, but sometimes doesn't work out. Having uneven strengths against different kinds of opponents, but not having Kryptonite-level weaknesses is probably the best compromise. And here on HC, you can use the Ouroboros difficulty settings to mimic being weaker or Design an AE mission with the kind of foes you want to fight, all without affecting anyone who isn't on your team.
  9. Well yeah. Civilians are the Grownups. All of us, Heroes and Villains and everything in between, are just children in costumes playing pretend. That's why pedestrians can ignore our powers.
  10. /Time is good too, and Time Stop is a hold, so there's a little control there.
  11. One idea I've used in the past is to think about Dark Melee as using interdimensional energies from a science/ technology standpoint. Or maybe it's some kind of manipulation of "Dark" Matter. Or other sci-fi words like "Quantum Inversion". Since none of the attacks have big screaming skulls like Terrorize or Gloom, you can reimagine the fluffy clouds of darkness as whatever you like. And for Midnight Grasp, punching a hole into some parallel reality to let eldritch beings reach in with their tentacles can be as magic or religion free as you like. Remember: "Any sufficiently advanced science is indistinguishable from magic." and also: "Any sufficiently researched magic is indistinguishable from science!"
  12. I have skipped Liquid Nitrogen on the past two Arsenal Control characters I've made. On my Arsenal/ Arsenal Dominator, I went with Cupid's Crush in Buckshot, Ragnarok in Sleep Grenade, and Coercive Persuasion in Smoke Cannister. I'm mostly building for recharge because it's a Dominator, but the knockdown/back on Ragnarok doesn't seem to interfere with the sleep effects, and because I've pushed +recharge so hard in my build, Sleep Grenade and Smoke Canister are almost always the 1-2 opening salvo on a group. I haven't had too much issue with Buckshot's knockback. Cryo Freeze Ray protects a held target from knockback, and since the gas clouds persist, either I'm knocking mobs back into the cloud after they charge me, or they wander back in on their own. Or I chuck them into walls etc. And on the Arsenal/ Arsenal Dominator, I haven't proc bombed any power. Oh, and if you decide you like Arsenal Control, you should make an Arsenal/ Marine Controller at some point.
  13. Seems like you already are, but you should definitely make and play one! I put Coercive Persuasion in Smoke Canister, and Cupid's Crush in Buckshot, so I get plenty of confusion stacked up. I also took Buttstroke and Elbow Strike. After firing off a salvo of Sleep Grenade+Smoke Canister and (Tear Gas if it's up), I'll Cryo Freeze a boss or other problematic target and then get close to plant a Trip Mine, Buttstroke any survivors, and if there is still an enemy staggering around, I'll give them the ol' Elbow. The knockback on Elbow Strike is hilarious, and the 1-2 combo of Buttstroke+Elbow Strike is satisfyingly violent.
  14. PBAoE?!! Back in the dumpster diving heyday, Tankers could hit that stack with Energy Transfer and kill all the wolves and themselves!! Then you would get one of the mids to rez you and you're off to the races again!
  15. It's Mind Control/ Pain Domination/ Mace Mastery
  16. One cool thing to do with Telekinesis is to hop backwards as soon as you finish casting it. Instead of pushing the target away, it will yank them back with you. As the target moves, it will gather up others like a magnet. It's finicky and hard to control, but it's also funny. Sometimes you'll get the mobs caught on an object and the TK will freak out, causing some or all of the targets to Violently zig-zag up and down at an angle until you use Lift or the toggle ends. I have tons of fun with my Mind controller and since I'm in a Discord channel with my teammates, it's easy enough to announce when I'm going to do what.
  17. ONE MIILLLIIIOOON YEAAARS DUNGEON!!! On Topic, if they ever port Super Strength to Scrappers, I plan to move on to rabble rouse for Stalker Super Strength, with the "Flex" emotes as the build up animation for "Assassin's Fist" 🙂
  18. Aha! That makes sense. On my Ice/Devices Blaster I monitor Stealth Radius, and last Friday it always seemed that when I glanced at the number it was 15. I guess I wasn't being sneaky enough 🙂 Thanks!
  19. I don't know/ haven't looked for any history on this, but is Field Operative's Stealth Radius in PVE supposed to be only 15ft? That's less than the Stealth power from Concealment. It makes toe bombing a challenge for sure 🙂 Reference: https://cod.uberguy.net/html/power.html?power=blaster_support.gadgets.cloaking_device&at=blaster
  20. Mez resistance is not the same as Mez protection: https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Resistance_(Mechanics) https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Protection tl:dr Resistance will reduce duration, Protection keeps it from happening. FREEM has a very high magnitude Knockback (I want to say like 21 magnitude, but I can't find it in CoD) and (if I remember right) was added to make Council more dangerous, even to characters that normally aren't troubled by knockback.
  21. I may be missing it, but how would you define your personal flavor of gremlin? Like what 3 bullet points would you distill it down to?
  22. I enjoyed rolling from zone to zone stomping on stuff with my fellow players. The times I was in voice comms with my friends there was an abundance of hooting and hollering when the rubberbanding or pigeons started to come into effect. Fold Space into Fire Sword Circle or Anguishing Cry is fun and satisfying. Also, not gonna lie, it was nice to unlock Incarnate slots on characters I hadn't played as much. I'm looking forward to next year's event!
  23. Don't toss the character, you have plenty of slots to save it for a rainy day. What's the kiddo playing? That should influence what you build to duo. Based on no other info, I'd say try a Fire/Nature. That way you'd have a heal, a rez, buffs, debuffs, a hold toggle, and some fast animating damage powers.
  24. On topic, add my endorsement to the Assault Rifle/ Tactical Arrow build. I love mine, and with the addition of sheathed weapon costume options, you can get a real "packrat" sort of look. I'll also add (since I don't see it upthread) Welcome to Homecoming, you have 1000 character slots per server! You can make all of the characters you're considering!
  25. What attacks can you not? I'm at work and so cannot look at my Hunstman, but I think ... do you mean like when you take build up from the Bane list and you pull out a mace?
