DFB - Get Dr. Meinst off the catwalk
Razor Cure replied to Outrider_01's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
You complain about how hard a not very hard badge is..then go on about how hard it still is AFTER some helpful (and super obvious) suggestions? How about just forming the DFB yourself,, and explaining it? If you cant even be bothered to do that, how can you moan about how tough teh badge is? Even IF someone screws it up (through not listening or accident), just run the trail again (more xp, oh no!) and have another crack. If the same person screws it again, kick them. -
DFB - Get Dr. Meinst off the catwalk
Razor Cure replied to Outrider_01's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Hmmm Ever take your own advice? The badge is 'tough'..til a team member takes that whole 10 seconds to say 'no aoes, only hit the boss.' Just because teh badge is low level, does not mean it should be easy. And again..discuss a plan? Seems kinda obvious. -
Yeah, cause TW needs MORE help, right? It was already one of teh best (the best on scrappers when tricked out) melee sets in game. This is a super hero game..logic and physics do not (and should not) apply realistically to every single power or mechanic in the game. Or would things like the following happen: Flying makes your costume burn up due to friction, same with SUper Speed Using SUper Strength and foot stomp damages you, unless you are Invul Fire aoes burn team mates Hell, EVERY aoe hurts team mates (cause HOW are team mates ducking that swinging titan weapon?) Aoe Debuffs now hit everyone too The list goes on. All mechanics like that would make the game way more realistic and logical..and always make it utterly shite. For example.. AoE atatcks having a bonus sorta makes sense..until you consider they are often less accurate, to counter balance the ability to hit way more targets (can you imagine SPines with +acc, and ALL those aoes?). How do you know you are looking right at the target? Unless you are playing in FPS mode. Even then, you may as well say that since LBE cant miss, why should any other attack, since we are looking at the target? A miss could also represent the chance of a baddie ducking, moving, wind, a team mate blocking your view. Mob Density...yeah, cause encouraging herding should totally help teams..since ever team should p[lay the same way. Right? (especially since the main winners from this would be AE farmers, with massive mobs around). Range and Movement affecting to hit? LOL. That would make PvP utterly worthless. And in PvE, range (and to a lesser extent) moving is the main tactic/mitigation of half the ATs in the game. And you want to remove that? Does that mean every range blaster gets an acc penalty? What about SNipes. Huge range..huge penalty, right?? And you can only fire them when not moving? Awesome idea! Apart from..you know, the devs making Fast Snipes a thing (a good thing). Which plays into your logic about Laser Eyes..since the ONLY snipes that should get an acc bonus, ever, are Assault Rifle (scopes) and Archery (scopes, kinda)...every other snipes is magically fired from teh hand..how are those people seeing the guy downrange? hence, huge acc penalty! What fun for those players.

Squishies Epic Armors grant 3 Mag Protection?
Razor Cure replied to arthurh35353's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Comparing scrapper and blaster clear times does not work that well. The scrapper has teh advantage of running into a mob and ALL of said mob piling around him, meaning Aoe's are nearly always hitting max targets. The blaster cant do that, since most Blast sets have one AoE and a cone (and a nukce that is on a MUCH slower recharge than scrapper aoes). Some aoes make mobs scatter too, meaning even less aoe killing. Regardless, the issue here was Mez Prot, and the blaster (especially if they have an aoe immob, kb, or ku) can STAY out of range of every single melee mez a mob has. Every single one. Of course, if the blaster wants to melee..then they should be expecting that extra danger. -
DFB - Get Dr. Meinst off the catwalk

A REALLY bad way to draw aggro on an AV. She falls over, and takes time to get up then come forward, while the zombies have already swamped you. Use Blackwand (or any ranged attack) instead. -
Make PBAoE Toggles Suppress Rather than Detoggle
Razor Cure replied to oedipus_tex's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I'd prefer those kinda toggles (like aoe debuff toggles) get a much shorter recharge. Having them just suppress instead of detoggle (although nice) would just make things too easy. -
Sutter TF needs more badges or at least one more
Razor Cure replied to KaizenSoze's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I agree. At least one for clearing ALL the ships (since doing so actually does jack shit) or closing all the fuel lines (which I have NEVER seen a team do..mostly because I have never found the stupid things). But on the flip side...Morty Kal should get some more badges too. Like a SOuless one, for killing Numi (as opposed to taking her soul), and maybe Soul Thief (for stealing her soul). -
Thanks for teh replies everyone!

Finally slotted up my spines/bio scrapper. I was looking at the combat atts, and noticed some weird things when ex'd down to 15ish. I have the glad armour (lvl 50) and steadfast (lvl 27) +def IOs in hardened carapace, but when I go down to a lower level (15) the GladArmour KEEPS working, but the steadfast does not. SAme kinda behaviour with Combat jumping (slotted with both +res IOs). The level 50 shouled wall works at low levels, while Reactive Def (lvl 22) does not. Is that normal behaviour? I was thinknig about using catalysts on those other uniques to make em always active.

I am not honestly sure if all these count as Bugs, or design, but since some work, and some dont..I am assuming it is not WAI. Anyway. Stackable missions. Ones that you can 'auto' complete while teaming with people owning the same exact mission. The mission holder selects theirs, the teams completes it, and those with said mission can choose to have it finished too. Obviously that is not the most common thing, but I dare say there are quite a lot of duo and trio teams that run story arcs like this, because that way everyone gets reward xp and merits. It is also the best way to do Incarnate arcs (more on that in a sec) as you can choose NOT to auto complete the mission, do it again, and get a 2nd or 3rd lot of rewards. Most missions work just fine, with rewards being given to both when Stacked, or again, giving the reward both times when completed again. However.. Provost Marchands arc: He has a couple of missions that, when stacked, award the badge ONLY to the mission holder. From memory, these are the ones with 'extra' objectives (like directing npc allies to do tasks) and I guess it sorta makes sense that a stacked mission wont give the badge to all members, since 'their' version of the mission didnt have said objectives done. But considering that 99% of badges DO award to multiple mission holders, this is really stupid. At the very LEAST the option to stack should come with a warning about said extra badge. ANother mission in the same arc (clicking 4 npcs) awards a badge to ALL team members, even if they do not click the npcs, so clearly it should all work this way! The DA arcs. These are sorta the opposite, as a duo (I often ddo em with a friend) will want to complete reward missions twice, for more shinies. However...there are a few missions over those contacts (I forget which exactly, but I KNOW the Dream Docs first reward mission does this, since it just happened) dont work that way. Exaample: My reward mission gets completed normally, award me the Incarnate reward, and an emp merit/common incarnate salvage bonus (the arc bonus I guess). My friend gets NO rewards. At all. We selects my friends unstacked mission (the exact same one) and finish it. We BOTH get those rewards (reward table + emp/common salvage). It makes zero sense that the mission holder gets rewards both times, and the other person does not. Even more so since other reward missions in the DA arcs DO work 'properly.'

Yeah..cause EVERY AT should totally be able to kill an AV. Every single build too. Oh no, that grav/bubble troller doesnt have the DPS to kill an AV, despite magically auto hitting with every attack . We better also slap on some extra damage so he can keep up. Also, trollers have a Mag 4 immob..that works in one single hit. One. So trollers are 'weak' until they 'manage' to land just one high accuracy Immob? This reasoning is utterly stupid. If a fender can solo an AV, why cant a troller, with the same secondary? Ill/Rad's say Hi! Even on any other troller or dom, ONE single random miss with a Hold (especially considering how short the time you can hold most AVs for actually IS) is not gonna end a fight. Its when you get hit twice in a row that the problems start. Again, not everything should be able to solo an AV (and why the hell is that some kinda benchmark or justification to your idea? In a team it wont matter, and 99% of people trying to solo an AV will be built to do it). Lol. Genius argument, again! No more missing ever! Going back to what I said earlier..my damage is sucky. It frustrates me. Gets my blood pressure SO high. But since the game is already so easy, it cant hurt at ALL to just..triple my damage right? For the sake of no more frustrating play.

Blaster Epic Pool Balance Passes
Razor Cure replied to AustinSmith's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
The Defensive toggles are BOTH undervalued in your summary I think. Well ok, Frozen Armour (now I reread qwhat you said). The amazing thing about Frozen Armour (and the utterly unfair thing) is that you can slot Resist IOs...meaning if you are building for Def (ranged def, a blasters best friend), those 2 +def IOs go in. Scorpion Shield can NOT (because of course it cant..it was a redisde only power) do that. Ice Epic also has some other great powers for blasters (a big heal, a aoe slow and a Cant Kill me power). I know you are talking just about the armours, but I think the rest of the power pool should come into it. Mace really offers little besides ScorpShield. -
The Hard Way Option - Incarnate Extraordinaire
Razor Cure replied to Lockpick's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Well..yeah, you can. You could do the entire thing with an alt and do nothing at all. Sure, it would still take time, but even the vet levels could be farmed, and with only one level per day, that would take all of 20 mins (per day) in a fire farm. -
Tremor is the pbaoe? I didn't even take that on my SM Brute. It is WAY too slow, and does such shitty damage.

Could we get a click-heavy defense or resist armor set?
Razor Cure replied to aethereal's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Willpower has ZERO healing. None at all. It is a hybrid with more regen than regen (often). Also Bio armour technically has ONE heal. The other 2 are absorbs. That is both 'healing' sets having less healing powers than Regen. I also agree people love the idea of regen, and a rebalance would annoy a lot of people. My suggestion to 'fix' regen was more tongue in cheek, since you basically said 'I want regen but good,' implying regen isnt good. A good priority also definitely is NOT a click heavy, low base stat, armour set, given points made by others here (such as lotsa people wanting less clicks in sets like SR and Nin). -
The Hard Way Option - Incarnate Extraordinaire
Razor Cure replied to Lockpick's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
The name should be 'The insanely grindy way.' How many people would do this? That would be such a pain. HAHAHAHAH. No, really, you were serious? What about for Villains? We dont need no stinking shard badges. Only one level possible, for the ENTIRE Synapse TF? Yeah, no thanks. The rewards you suggest would be really cool...but for the effort involved? ALso, how would teaming work? What is to stop my gimpy toon on SOs just teaming with a bunch of IOd 50s running every tf? Sure, I'd be useless (compared to being able to slot stuff), but they would just mash everything anyway. No challenge at all. And you just KNOW people would do exactly that with multiple accounts..Main Account tricked out, running with Gimp Accounit. Gimp account does literally jack shit, from 1-50, but still hits it. But then 100 DAYS to get to Vet100? I agree that more grinding does NOT equal more of a challenge. -
Could we get a click-heavy defense or resist armor set?
Razor Cure replied to aethereal's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Then shouldn't the priority be on FIXING regen, to make it good, before adding a powerset with pretty specific (and dare I say, generally unwanted) mechanics? Don't get me wrong, it could be interesting, but the amount and nature of the clicky powers would need a LOT of tweaking, of the set would be super reaction based and ruin attack flow. -
Could we get a click-heavy defense or resist armor set?
Razor Cure replied to aethereal's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Soo basically Regen, with bells and whistles? -
Going from this amazing logic...I also get frustrated because Attack X, slotted to 95% damage, and showing 200 damage in the info, NEVER does 200 damage, due to resists of baddies. We may as well just remove all enemy mobs def/res abilities, since they only add to the frustration. And, its not like those powers add anything to the challenge..right? Right?
-
This. Makes way more sense. Why SHOULD we be able to auto hit everything? Our toons, no matter the back story, are not Hawkeye. Missing only semi-annoys me pre level 22, and that is missing due to lack of slotting on my put (by choice). So as annoying as it can get, it is on me. On a tangent, I'd actually like a mechanic that makes a Miss (pre lvl 22) not consume any endurance.
-
You make it sound like missing is a super common thing. Be honest. What is the Strikebreaker on player attacks, 3 or 5 misses? You said it yourself..a miss makes you tense and blood pressure spikes...really? lol. ALL my toons, till lvl 47, run with a single acc IO and a kismet in attacks. And I go through missions and cant remember missing over 10 times. Even if I die from a miss, debt means literally nothing. But to comment on the above..I found Champions a lot (a LOT) less fun that CoH, in spite of having some awesome powers and combos. I didn't like the auto hit powers and their system of defence/resistance.
-
This is true in a LOT of other slotting though. Look at the number of uniques and top tier single IOs that a huge % of people slot: Numi/Miracle/Panacea Kismet LotG KB Ios SLow res IOs And with the full sets, I would guess that the best ones get used like 80% or more of the time, and most of the others are never used (aside from maybe using some leveing up). SO yeah..we already do slot quite similar. More ATO's that do something 'different' would be cool. Like for Sec Power sets instead.
-
Well since you are apparently too worked up to SEE reasons in my first reply, how about you take your bat and ball and go chill out for a bit? It is a stupid idea that breaks parts of the game designs and WELL established mechanics. Again, go play Champions if you cant handle a few misses.
-
See reasons I already said. Honestly, your ideas are normal logical and well thought out..this just sounds like a temper tantrum because you missed 5 attacks in a row.
-
Which would be HOW hard, in teams with a few Tactics uses? The game at 50 is already pretty easy..and you want a full team of people who cant miss? Genius!
