I firmly believe that more blue bar is better blue bar, so I'm going to be hard pressed to skip any power that gives endurance on command. That said, Kyoyo is a pretty crummy endurance power. It only affects you, which means that you cannot slot it with the Energy Manipulator chance for stun. It's a slow recharge, and although you could in theory get it running every 15 seconds, an almost 2 second animation really detracts. I don't play ninjitsu a lot, but I'm definitely rethinking my slotting: I'll front load Health and Stamina and just use Kyoyo as an emergency button slotted with Perf Shifter proc and Power Transfer proc for a one shot hit of endurance and health in case of emergencies. I like Blinding Powder much much better, but I don't often take it. For me this is mainly about the -to hit debuff, but you can have fun with the confuse as well. You can get three damage procs in there and three accuracy/range D-syncs! For me, I would use this on TFs where you are fighting more than one AV at a time.

I'm genuinely curious: what do you think the "fair" price of this item is or should be? How does that change if you are buying or selling it?
-
This depends on whether or not there is already someone who's got a trade to cross. If you bid 1,000 for a Chaos Theorem, and it doesn't transact, if you do it again it will stack your unmet bid with your other one up to 10.
-
This will be somewhere between four and forty transactions, and that will entirely depend on the current outstanding bids.

I’m pretty confident that my experience and testing matches with my understanding of the model. I can think of three basic ways why the /AH hangs up: 1. the individual client is having trouble establishing connection with the /AH interface. I’ve certainly had this happen to me and that’s going to be about issues on the individuals computer. In this case upping your bid isn’t going to help. 2. The overall /AH is currently suffering from more unresolved transactions than normal, so the hamsters are grinding. I can see how this happens more at peak times than at other times. I also don’t think upping your bid helps out here — the problem isn’t necessarily that your bid isn’t crossing with a seller, but that the sorting algorithm hasn’t gotten to your trade yet. I feel that is what led to the “Claim All” limitation as well as governors on opening packs. 3. The item you are trading has a lot of unresolved trades. There are not a lot of categories that seem to trigger this, but if you sell a thousand of anything at 1inf into outstanding bids, it’s going to take a few minutes generally to process. This is working as intended, and if you are buying and selling things that lots of other people are buying at the same time, the system has to periodically reassess new trades. If you are trying to buy common salvage at 250, and there are hundreds being offered there and you are not buying them, it’s almost certainly because someone else is buying at a higher price and you need to wait until the higher matches cross before yours will. Packs don’t have an active two way market. If I put in 1000 bids at 25mm for winter packs, you will buy 1000 at your price because we know they are listed there, and you will buy them within seconds. There aren’t new bids and offers coming in every few seconds like say for common salvage. feel free to do your own testing, and pay what you want, but paying over list price for seeded stuff isn’t saving you time.
-
I say this with 100% certainty: the only way you are going to buy a seeded item faster by paying a higher price is if someone bought all the seeded items and relisted them at a higher price. Pay what you want, but you're not cutting the line since there is a supply of millions of that item being offered at the seeded price.

What do you think is the strongest two-person duo?
Yomo Kimyata replied to Story Archer's topic in General Discussion
I'm biased, but I'm going to say a Kinetic Melee/Regeneration scrapper and a Rikti monkey. There may be some deaths though. -
That's Dark Watcher from RWZ that gives this, IIRC.

This tracks for me. Take as many attacks as you want while leveling but don’t be afraid to respec out. On my scrappers I use Shatter, Crowd Control, and Whirling Mace for AOE (and put at least one Force Feedback in there) and Bash, Clobber, snipe, and Shatter for ST. Use Pulverize when it’s useful, but I don’t keep it at end game.

Also, Happy Hanukkah and Kwanza Eve!

I look forward to checking out that thread, thank you! Like you say above, generally set bonuses are crap and enhancement values are also crap, and that was fine when the slotting alternatives were TOs (remember those?) and DOs. But introducing SOs at starting levels just destroyed any possibility for diversity. Now I know that djinni is out of the bottle, and as it stands now, low level invention sets are essentially useless. They eliminated TOs, maybe they will decide to eliminate low level invention sets? Hell, maybe they will turn every set into purples? WHO KNOWS?!?

I've been giving this a go with The Anesthesiologist, Mind/Electricity dominator. So far so good!

I'm pleased that this topic has struck a chord, at least with a bunch of the forum regulars! I'm very hesitant to suggest any sort of power creep, because that's something that I am not in favor of (although, let's be honest, that's how we got to this stage with the SO promotion). And I actually like the system as it is with its weird level restrictions and sometimes overlap and sometimes not; sure, I cannot recall ever having bought and slotted a piece from Smashing Haymaker, but that doesn't mean we have to buff that set or extend its level range. Above, people have described their personal play styles and what kinds of changes would work best for those play styles. But none of those playstyles are universal and there is a big population that isn't describing their playstyles. I'll be honest, what I'd really like is for building to get more complex with more tradeoffs. Now, I'm definitely biased as well, partly because I don't care about upgrading my SOs every level or buying a full set of ATOs for my level 10 characters. But I find it boring, and it would be sweet if I could, for example, frankenslot three pieces of Smashing Haymaker that would get me some sort of debuff resistance at the cost of losing other set bonuses.
-
This is true, but I personally find it to be well less than a big deal. Let's say you are a tank with 90% resistance to everything, which seems about normal in Homecoming. You get hit by five opponents that have a -10% resistance debuff for 10 seconds. Each of them is 90% resisted so you end up with 85% resistance to everything for ten seconds. Honestly, I don't see the value play of trying to get to 100% in order to take 5% less damage when fighting debuffing enemies.

Exactly how do attuned enhancements work?
Yomo Kimyata replied to OEM61's topic in General Discussion
Out of pedantry, there are still some interesting bugs for some sets. Some of them enable you to slot an attuned IO at a level where you would not be allowed to slot the lowest available leveled version. The most useful example of this is Performance Shifter, which has a minimum level of 21, but you can slot it at level 17. Technically that should be 18. -
I've got a good-sized presence on all five, but I've got the most bodies on Excelsior.
-
Ever since SOs were made available at low levels, the raw enhancement power has made them the go to for those who choose to afford them. As a result, low level invention sets have mostly become irrelevant, in my opinion. Sure, there are plenty of useful set IOs still, but for the most part those are procs or from a very limited number of sets that have good set bonuses. That's fine and good, but I'd love to try to come up with some ideas to: 1. make those recipe drops something more than vendor fodder; and 2. maybe add some diversity in builds. I don't doubt that I'm one of the only people who cares about this, but hey, that's where I am today. Ideas: - revamp some of the set bonuses. Slip in a little more +def, or +res, or +recharge? That's all I've got for now. Anyone else have any ideas?

You got to be in it to win it!

If you want to follow Diantane's lead, I'd suggest buying SOs. Lots of them.
-
Yup, that was a game changer

I have opinions, and the party is not as wild as it once was, but Packs are still reliable. When you open a 10mm inf pack, you will get 5 items. Booper did an analysis a while back, and I don't have it on hand, but the important part is that you will get, on average, 1.2 ATOs per pack and a bunch of other stuff of probably lesser value. You could get 1, you could get 2, you could get zero, but on average it's 1.2. Now as you say, some ATOs are more valuable than others and you could get lucky, or you could help your luck by using some of those converters that you will probably get as well. It shouldn't be too hard to extract a 20% profit after fees I would think, but it's going to be more diversified the more packs you open. And then it becomes an issue of opening and managing a boatload of things in your Character Items menu.
