  1. I witnessed your argument in Help, but didn't have the time or motivation to butt in! @Bopper mentions the prices at which items are seeded. Please note that this seeding was done a long time ago, and is the functional equivalent of you or me offering a million blocks of 10 each of the various rarities of salvage (and other items too, but salvage is what we're looking at here.) The devs don't increase supply or adjust prices due to market conditions. Just think of it as one of your fellow players having offered large blocks of these items at high prices and just letting it sit there.
  2. This is pretty much the reason I (almost) never play a tank in team play. It's a total drag to be asked/told to play a certain way because someone else on my team has a bee in their bonnet about how I'm engaging in a recreational activity wrong. So I don't play a tank unless I'm in a particularly good mood, I'm willing to be ordered around by random strangers, and I happen to be in the mood to "actively tank". Of course, what I really find fun is stepping up with a corruptor or stalker and taking on "active tank" duties.
  3. I've used it for thematic purposes. The two fear powers are nice, and have good proc rates. The down side it that they only take Fear IOs which is one damage and one mag 2 8s Stun effect which doesn't really add much to the existing fear effects. Unrelenting is also nice, but that's a lot of power investment (I'd take the Provoke power as the other prerequisite) for a panic button.

  5. Also, Targeting Drone (and Focused Accuracy) have To Hit Debuff resistance (and perception debuff resistance). Build Up and Maneuvers Tactics do not have To Hit Debuff resistance. (although Tactics has Perception debuff resistance).
  6. I'm honestly very surprised that there isn't a lot more demand for some of the HO/DSOs out there, given that fact that lots of us have loads of disposable wealth. Example: You can three slot a defense power with LotG recharge, defense, and D/E at level 50, and get 54.15% defense enhancement, 26.5% endurance reduction, 7.5% recharge, 10% regeneration, and 1.12% hp increase. (I guess you could +5 them with boosters and increase it to 57.76% defense enhancement and 33.13% endurance reduction, but then you lose all benefits when you exemplar below 47 I believe). Or you could three slot with LotG recharge and 2x lvl 53 Cyto for 56.29% defense enhancement, 75.93% endurance reduction, 7.5% recharge and lose the regeneration and hp increase, which I find to be pretty much insignificant. Yes, a lvl 53 Cyto is markedly more expensive than a LotG, but what the hell else am I going to spend the inf on?
  7. For me, it's just the inherent nature of masterminds insofar as (most) everything that gets done I have to do indirectly through pets. It's like the difference between driving an automobile and driving an automobile by remote control from a different automobile following the first one. Oddly enough, I have a number of dreams about doing the latter, and they all end up in some sort of accident because the car I'm in keeps falling farther and farther behind. Paging Dr. Freud! Anyway, my neuroses aside, it's just not a playstyle I particularly enjoy. I've got a bunch of mms, even a few 50s, but that was enough to realize that I don't really like the playstyle and that's ok.
  8. Over the weekend this is now occurring for me on Indominable, Everlasting, Torchbearer, as well as Excelsior. The Character Items menu is completely unreliable now.
  9. Ha! I am a pattern seeker, and the two things I have noticed that are exclusive to Excelsior in the past week or two are unexplained crashes and an inability to access global accounts.
  10. I'm all for more variation! Just one thought though: it's a tremendous amount of effort, even for a fully paid team (which we don't have) to create and rebalance an entirely new set without falling into either total power creep or creating something that no one likes or uses. Maybe developing new or alternate animations for existing power sets could be more effective? Example: a lot of my "luck" themed characters use Time Manipulation because to me the powers do mostly what I would expect "luck" to do. Similarly, maybe a "time armor" set could be a reskinning of SR? Again, just a thought!

  12. Interestingly enough, I only seem to have this problem on Excelsior. Or let me be more exact: I have only encountered this problem on Excelsior, on more than one account. I *HAVE* been able to claim items on Torchbearer without problem. I have not tried the other servers. My current workaround is to claim items on Torchbearer and email them to characters on Excelsior, which is a pretty poor way to do things.
  13. The Character Items and opening of Hero Packs has been messed up on Excelsior (and apparently Excelsior only?!?) for the past week or so. Strange things are afoot.
  14. On a whim I checked on other servers. No problem accessing Character Items on Torchbearer. Still cannot on Excelsior.
  15. Oh I thought you meant how they got rid of the cooldown so that it is now always available. I figured that one of the devs for some reason got tired of having to wait a few seconds for it to recharge.
  16. Yeah, I would have put it in Burn. A +5 Armageddon A/R gets you 41.4%/41.4%, but it's unique. A 53 DSO gets you +38.3%/38.3% and you can slot as many as you want.
  17. I can think of a couple of reasons (I can't speak for anyone except me): 1. Many of us are old farts who can't stand being called closed minded, and we generally need a pretty compelling reason to do things differently than we currently do. If it is markedly easier or faster, sure, that's a great reason! 2. I find Discord to be a disorganized piece of shit. It's like Craig's List without anything humorous. 3. There's virtually no content that is "hard" enough that you can't run through with a PuG. Anything that requires coordination almost certainly has organized events already in place on the calendar. 4. If no one is running content you want to do, it is trivial to start a team to do the content you want to do in real time, keeping in mind that it will be dependent on how many other people are on that shard at the same time. 5. There is very little that you cannot solo if you cannot find a team. This is pretty much similar to point 3. 6. People get to play how they want to play. Sounds like most of the people you are talking to don't want to play the way you want to play. Quel dommage.

  19. Both would be just fine. War Mace is endurance heavy, which matches well with Elec Armor's recovery. But Katana has a nice melee defense boost, which matches well with elec Armor's resistance focus. Make both!

  21. Previous to last week, there would be occasional hiccups lasting from a few seconds to a few minutes. I am now finding it impossible to open super packs or to claim items from the Character Items menu. Any updates? This is explicitly on Excelsior if it matters (I don't think it should, but I know that Excelsior had a crash recently).
  22. Cool stuff! I'm not playing this combo (yet!) but it strikes me that you have a lot of investment in endurance recovery -- are you finding it necessary? Normally I would have a Theft of Essence proc in DNA Siphon (and one in Parasitic Aura with 5 Panacea) which results in a full blue bar every 30 seconds or so, but there is more than one way to skin a catgirl! NOTE: no catgirls were harmed in the writing of this post.
  23. There is someone (or someones) who periodically put in big buy orders on yellow salvage at 1,001 and sell at 1,002. I presume that it is the same person, and that they are doing so to fast-track Power Seller badge. It's a small economic loss but presumably gets the badge relatively quickly.

  25. It works in this case because: 1. people will bid somewhere between where I listed it and 2bn inf -- without knowing exactly where I listed it people do tend to overbid. This is behavioral economics rather than game theory; 2. the recurring display bug keeps some people believing that the listed price is significantly higher than it actually is, and so in the interest of saving time, they put in a single bid that they think will win. 1. is pretty much reason enough to make enough to beat the vig, but 2. puts it way over the top. Barring a miracle (see what I did there?) the only way you are going to sell a piece of yellow salvage for 400mm (I've got a screen shot of that somewhere) is by having it listed there when someone, for whatever reason, decides to bid that (and you are the best offer). Other than that you are just dumping.
