The Incarnate system is needlessly complex and fussy

The main reason there seems to be a discrepancy in drop rates is because of veteran level rewards, those threads and Emps early on skew things in favor of it seeming like threads drop more often (which if you count those bonuses, they certainly do). It all depends on what content you are running, but shards are quite useful if you run a lot of WSTs and level 50 TFs (and relatively few DA arcs or ITrials) like I do. I don't use thread based components for Alpha until all 5 other slots are T4. I usually complete my Alpha about halfway through that process, and then convert shard based components to thread based to help with the rest. That's because DA content doesn't drop shards. It was designed as the "solo thread based" incarnate path for those that didn't do iTrials. This is what I do, but my experience is completely different. I don't know what shard you play on, but LRSF/MLTF are run very frequently on Excelsior, and they are very fast. Some of the channels I'm in run "TF stacks" that effectively get you 3 components in less than an hour. Other than the CoP, I can fill any other TF very quickly during high traffic hours. It sounds like Laz is suggesting that the drop rate and rewards be increased if we eliminate shards, not arguing against it. I'm not sure why folks object to that. It sounds like we all agree that it would make life easier to merge them, so why not merge the drop rates/rewards as well? -
This has been an issue for years. See my notes on last years thread reporting the same issue: My hypothesis has been that it happens on characters who haven’t logged in since last anniversary and the check to see if they have this year’s charges gets a false positive on last year’s grant, though I have some that haven’t gotten in the past 3 years, but only log in once/year. This works well with your 350 day idea. I encounter it frequently as well, but can’t narrow down the exact conditions it occurs since there are limited testing opportunities. There must be something specific the OP and I do that triggers it.

In all the descriptions of the Lore->Storm Elementals powers that summon a "Tempest Elemental", they are incorrectly called a "Diviner". i.e. the descriptions say Diviner, but a "Tempest Elemental Essence" is what is actually summoned. I believe the description was accurate at some point because the CoD link has the correct text, but the in game description does not. https://cod.uberguy.net./html/power.html?power=incarnate.lore.storm_elemental_radial_superior_ally My hypothesis is that this happened via some mass search/replace, perhaps when Knives of Vengeance were added/corrected since they do have both Tempest and Diviners.

You helped me with my Vidiot name change issue in CoH Modder, and it worked like a charm, but it also removed my optimal paths. This makes sense since they are modding ths same overlays, but it begs the question: If I install this mod, do I even need Vidiots? Are there any maps that Vidiot mods that this one doesn't? Or can I just install the optimal paths and essentially get both? Thanks for all you do to support the community. I've introduced several fellow players to this mod and they all find it very useful. -

I am getting this same error message except with "VidiotMaps I26" (a standard mod) rather than a custom mod. I also am getting "Error establishing a database connection" when I try to go to cityofplayers.com so perhaps something is just down for a bit.

I came to report the exact same issue. It happened to me last year and just happened twice in a row to 2 alts I haven't logged in since last anniversary (May 2021). Exactly as Griffyn reports: -Log in on a character without the current anniversary badge (both had not logged in since May 2021) -No Badge notification in the chat channel nor anniversary pop up shown -No Experienced charges awarded (still had 5 from last year - I know they were there from last year because they were already in a side tray. Newly awarded characters have to be dragged into side trays). -Looking in my badge list, the Unquenchable badge is awarded as of today My best guess is that the check to see if it was already awarded has a defect so the notification, pop up, and Experienced is skipped; though the badge award must be done separately. @Griffyn Did the characters that had this issue log in since last anniversary? That is the only commonality I can see as to why it appears to happen intermittently.

Big thanks to @cohRock for coming back to post the solution. The exact same thing happened to me. After reading this, I realized that that Mids is opening outside the visible screen. Maximizing it caused it to show, but then unmax made it disappear again. I used the move command to bring it back into view and voila, issue resolved.

This bug still exist. Exactly as described above, but NOT via Ouro. Nothing run out of order that I could tell. GM_Mimiru came to help us and noted Katie was phased out. She requires "NoPrime, AliveContact7" vision phases to be active. Oddly, three of us were there. The GM, one player on The Magician's arc, and one never visited First Ward or Night Ward before; and none of us could see her where she should be. -

We'll start in Paragon with some DFBs and KR scanners/banks, but will eventually make ourselves vigilantes/rogues so we can enjoy what the Rogue Isles have to offer. We'll be focusing on PVE content (Task/Strike Forces, Contact Arcs, Tips, the occasional newspaper/scanner, etc). There is no limit on the number of people that can join us. This isn't going to be a fixed group of 8; the more, the merrier. Feel free to show up late, roll a 2nd alt, etc. Super-Sidekick makes teaming incredibly easy. If you already have a character that fits the theme of this team, or won't be able to join us at the start of this team, don't worry; we'll accept you at any level, any time. Just note that if you're significantly beyond the rest of the team in terms of level, you should expect to exemplar down to the rest of the team most of the time. The zone connections in The Sewer Network show the incorrect zones. Atlas Park shows as Mercy Island, Kings Row as Port Oakes, and Steel Canyon as Cap au Diable. Boomtown and Skyway connections are correct. I am using a map overlay, though my understanding is that this only impacts the image below, not the clickable connections. Also, I am currently Rogue. I'll test again on a Hero and Vig when possible. The connections do take you to the correct Hero zone i.e. if I exit the Mercy Island connection, I come out in Atlas.

I just came across this tool and it looks great. Unsurprisingly, it did not recognize the mods I had previously installed manually; but my question is do I have to manually delete those? I have some that I don't see in the list so I don't want to remove the entire data folder. Similarly, will "Fresh Start" wipe out mods that were not installed with the tool? Thanks for the hard work!

The Justice Superteamers run many projects to leverage the power of stacked (de)buffs and explore common themes to accomplish things that a random group could not. Come join us on Excelsior for our Poison Potions Superteam where we'll leverage the power of Poison to subdue our foes. Long time vets and new players are all invited as we focus on fun with other friendly players. Power/Build Requirements: Must have the Poison power set. Primary for Defenders or secondary for Controllers, Corruptors, or Masterminds. Yes, it's been very powerful. We've been running for a while now, are Incarnated up, and steamrolling most +4 content. I don't know if it's as face melting as all Rad, Kin, or even our Cold/Thermal team, but it's very good. We've started discussing our next project so stay tuned for that, but we'll be TAing on Fridays for the next month or so I'd guess so stop by if you want!
