Sad but true. Had the thought the other day that hasten should be turned into a passive +20% recharge/movement buff. Then I pondered the pitchforks and torches.

What would be the best way to keep players retention?
Bill Z Bubba replied to spartan52's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Many of the MMO concepts before the snap were there specifically to keep subscriptions. For a 100% free to play game with a dev team that, starting with the SuperSecretPrivateServer, have done much to remove many of those concepts, we, too, have to rework our idea of what really brings folks to the game in the first place and work on those. Back to my prior comment, it took me 80 hours, as per some pedestrian with an M name, to get a new tank to level 50, T4ed with the 4 passive accolades and run an ITF with no insps, temps, amplifiers and with enemies buffed and me debuffed. If the game has become THAT easy to "win," why would I keep playing? Well, for one, I honestly love Bill Z Bubba. He's one of my favorite fictional characters of all time. I love playing him as a scrapper, a brute and a tank. I love watching him do his thing. But it's not just him. I now have 70+ characters, many of which get played regularly for no other reason but that they are fun to watch and play. I may be wrong, Satan knows that happens more and more lately, but I suspect I'm not alone in this. Perhaps the focus should be more on making the game LOOK BETTER (and it already still looks great, showing just how awesome the original devs really were,) and FEEL BETTER. Clean up animations. Add more costume options. (Which they've been doing. The asymmetrical options are glorious.) More costumes. More alternate attack animations. More power customization. Focus on anything that allows the player to more fully realize the character they have in their head. Edit: And for the elder gods' sakes.... give us boob physics.- 127 replies

I can share one opinion that's plaguing my brain... I kinda doubt the massively accelerated power creep is going to help matters in the long run. -
Agreed across the board. Even eyeballing a total overhaul of the BZBs based on what I learned here.

Woot! I'll relay this to my brother. Noticing a trend in the usage of Soul Mastery.
-
Wow. I was unlucky. 70 packs, 69 IOs.
-
Yea. My ST chain is ET(long)-TF-ET(short)-Gloom-Bonesmasher, repeat. Also, I'll stick with my earlier comment: This is a broken overpowered mess. Edit: My bad, this is the scrapper forum. You can replace Gloom with Moonbeam and be even MORE silly.

Mentioned in another thread but figured I'd add this here before I start doing silly ITF runs. This is with my new shield/em/soul tank. Lvl 54 AVs defeated, no faceplants Infernal, Malaise, Chimera, Nightstar, Bobcat, Neuron, Battle Maiden, Black Swan, Mother Mayhem, Marauder, Olympian Guard, Anti-Matter Diabolique and Dominatrix required Ultimate Insps. Siege was my failure. Even with Ultimates and Huge Reds and not bringing out Lore pets until right after his first heal, I could not get my DPS to outpace the recharge on his heal. I do still wonder if Carnies would be a better choice than Longbow, though. Regardless, T4ed, all passive IOs in place, ready for a no temps, no insps, enemies buffed, player debuffed, NO AMPs attempt. Kinda concerned about the tohit buff debuff though. I miss too much as it is. EDIT: LOL. Dead at first contact and I couldn't hit shit. Also forgot to respec into Phalanx Fighting at the cost of losing Afterburner. EDIT: Oh... wow... I accidentally also chose no enhancements. That would explain that insta-death wouldn't it?

Musc all the way. I'm a damage junkie. SR doesn't benefit from Resilient because the scaling resists are unaffected, but I guess it could help out Tough if you've taken it. All three of my claws/sr use Musc Core, Degen Core and Assault Core.

assault/buff where some of the buffs promote melee-centric behavior ... with some level of mez protection, of course.

Lvl 54 AVs defeated, no faceplants Infernal, Malaise, Chimera, Nightstar, Bobcat, Neuron, Battle Maiden, Black Swan, Mother Mayhem, Marauder, Olympian Guard, and Anti-Matter. Diabolique and Dominatrix required Ultimate Insps. Still working on Siege but waiting until I have Lore and Judgement T4ed. With a gorram TANK. OP? Yes. Broken? Yes. And I still hate the combo system. But will I play it? Absolutely! Why not be a completely unkillable god?
-
You'd think. But then my shield/em tank solos a lvl 54 Malaise and all the original design in the game begins spinning in its grave.
-
All of this AND let's not forget that they are EXTRA spawns. More to Kill. More XP. MORE BODIES HITTIN THE FLOOR!!! So, yea, I'm in the no thanks to their removal please group.

Well that seems wrong.

End goal is to roll back one more bit of power creep. As it stands, with a lvl shift and eating ultimate insps, regular content at +4 becomes even more of a joke. Almost as much as running DA at +4 while fighting +1s or even +0s if using ultimate insps there as well. And since we can't use threads for anything but buying insps from the fairy lass, it's easy to get stocked up on ultimates as well. It wouldn't break my heart to see those yanked from the game either.

Except with claws, the lack of spin for Stalkers makes me never touch stalkers. The extra recharge on spin and shockwave for brutes/tanks forces me into an attack chain of followup, focus, spin, shockwave rather than the the preferable chain of followup, spin, shockwave that I'm able to use on the scrapper. Changes made have actually driven me away/lessened my love rather than encouraging exploration.

They don't have to be identical. But in retaining a set's identity, it sure as hell makes things easier to balance.

Was pondering the same last night. Anyone else suddenly stuck in "I have too damn many rebuilds/builds to do now and don't wanna?"
-
They appear to be good folk. My bro, Green Dwarf, has been hanging with them often. Side note: I have a goal now. Beat the Werner with the new shield/em tank. No matter the cost to my psyche and physical well-being.

Unholy farksticks. What gorram secondary?
