  1. I min/max to a point. I don't play TW specifically because of the momentum mechanic. It's why I'll be not even remotely amused if that is the route they decide to go with EM. I do not like powers with more than one cast time. Makes building proper attack chains a PitA.
  2. Claws/WP will give you the best leveling experience due to Claws low end cost and WP's quick recovery. But end game? That Kat/Dark can be made into a major beast but it will probably be a rough-ish ride leveling up.
  3. I usually sit around 2 hours, 20 maps of Briggs asteroid map, when I'm pushing it. Well, it was 20, something changed not too long ago which forces me to do part of the 21st map. That's just to ding 50, of course. Takes longer to get a good build in Mids, pull from bins and buy IOs and build them than it does to hit 50. I'm back to just soloing normal content with dbl xp on my latest alt.
  4. Some points to ponder on MMs. This isn't a very good test for them due to: 1: The pylon ignores the purple patch so your T1 minions are even con to it when they aren't to anything else in the game. 2: If hybrid assault is fired off before the henchies are spawned, they apparently get and keep the buff. The information provided here is only based on reading others' posts on the forums.
  5. Decided to pull a @Sir Myshkin on my 2nd attempt. Cleared courtyard and towers at 103 minutes in, faceplanted in 5 seconds with barrier and buffs from T4 Talons. Apparently SR only sucks when the devs have to resort to cheating with autohit bullshit. Edit: Yea, I got a mad at the moment. Next attempt some day. Edit 2: What's really bumming me out is that I bet I could pull this off with my fire/bio sent without issue. Sure... might take 4 hours... but he doesn't die.
  6. Yup. Followup needs 313% total recharge for the followup, focus, slash, repeat chain. I don't think I've ever hit it but but I'm close enough forthat lovely triple-stack of FU on Focus. Really helps claws' damage overall.
  7. SR and EA are great. Ice ... is a very weak armor set. It could absolutely use some love but even at tank values it just fails. I would never touch it on a brute or scrapper. I do have an ice/spines tank and he does hold aggro like crazy but I'm probably going to delete him. Defense sets with low DDR are a very bad idea.
  8. I use hover. I've noticed that the healing fluffy always spawns on the left so I pull that one with focus and most of the time the spawner fluffy comes up as well. So I just sit up there, flappin my wings as I slowly chew through the two of them. Next time, I'll go ahead and pull the autohit fluffy once I'm done with the other two instead of trying to take out Rom so that he eats it the autohit. Slow going but doable.
  9. Full disclosure: I am also a Dave.
  10. I haven't really noticed this. BUT I run with an SG and when I'm not with them I'm running max diff stuff which brings its own level of crazy.
  11. Full disclosure: I died because I was taking a gulp of beer instead of watching the screen and jumping out of the AoE range when I had the chance.
  12. Oh the pain. was under the 2 hr mark after removing breaks, on Final Rom with just autohit fluffy left, and faceplant happens. SR/Claws Tank. Purples are not +5ed. T4s on pyronic, assault, degen, musc core and radial for carnies and rebirth. ST attack chain is, as always, followup/focus/slash/repeat. When assault is up I regularly get 183% +dam on followup. Thinking I'll swap to barrier and Talons of Vengeance for Lore and try again. Could also respec again to crank up neg nrg damres.
  13. Ok, time to respec tank BZB. Tried out Werner rules with my brute BZB, 1st mish, no issues, 2nd mish, touch and go but got it done with some kiting, 3rd mish, the monster squad turned me into a fine red paste. To the mids-mobile! Side note: buffed enemies aren't quite as buffed as I was expecting, which was nice.
  14. Based on what Captain Powerhouse states, the plan for Sentinels is to have them do better AoE damage than scrappers. Don't know about yall, but my scrappers can dish out some very nice AoE. But since they already do better damage than their defender/corruptor counterparts (when not considering their buffs/debuffs,) it seems to me that their place on teams is just fine. Granted, I'm also in the camp that doesn't care about roles on teams, especially now where the power creep has turned us all into gods. But even in lower level game where roles can be more important, the sentinel is in an even better position to provide assistance to a team thanks to being ranged. It takes time for a scrapper to run across a room to help out their squishier teammates. A sentinel can just fire off attacks. But I'd still have to argue that both are there to handle hard targets, scrappers with crits (which only benefit the scrapper,) and sentinels with opportunity (which benefit everyone attacking that target,) while being able to survive ticking all the bad guys off. All that said, I hear you on arguing against sents having less base damage than corruptors. If the stated role for the sent is ranged scrapper then damage output at base should be comparable to scrappers. I'd probably care a WHOLE lot less about the damage to survivability axis if every AT had at least some mez protection by lvl 12.
  15. To be honest, I was completely looking at it from the incoming mez side of things rather than outgoing, where it's "have mez protection or be screwed." I only have 3 mezzers, 1 controller and 2 doms. I honestly love playing all three but only on teams. While I can solo them, I've found them to be more work than they're worth when attempting max diff. I'm not knowledgeable enough on the mezzing side of things to offer much but I do absolutely agree, just based on reading what others have written on the topic and my own experiences so far, that mezzers, controllers moreso than permadoms, need something to pull them up a bit.
  16. Well, you'd think, but some players have fun dying and even use self-destruct often and are at their happiest with a full team wipe. I run with one of those and he's a hoot. 🙂
  17. If the 90s actually provided twice the performance for that >2X price, maybe, but so far I've been more than happy with the 80s.
  18. The sentinel's role is the same as the scrapper's or the stalker's: dish out death, don't faceplant and do so without the need of outside assistance. And they get to do so while being able to stay at range where incoming damage is drastically reduced so they're arguably safer than their scrapper/stalker brethren.
  19. I don't think anyone knows but I do know that variables can be taken into consideration. Test with SOs. Test with Basic IOs. Test again with standardized Set IOs. Do all three and you'll probably get a very good idea where the baselines are. To the "not playing correctly" concept, I don't believe in such a thing. How you decide to build your character and play it is your business and outside of the conversation of powerset and AT balance.
  20. I've never noticed any but my window is covered by blinds and a jolly roger flag and neither my ceiling fan light nor side lamp are in a position to cause me issues.
  21. Still the ol 1920X1080. Decided until a vid card comes out that can push at least 60FPS across the board I wouldn't bother with a 4k monitor. Plain jane gtx 1080 on a 7 year old motherboard at the moment. Figure Cyberpunk or the new Vamp the Masquerade games may force an upgrade.
  22. Nope. Perhaps you should be more careful in what you decide to type. Statement 1: Fun is your reward. You don't care if someone else gets better rewards over time so you don't care if powersets are balanced. Statement 2: You absolutely care about powerset balance because you think I'm capable of screwing up said balance. Statement 3: You insult me because you're annoyed that I called you out on your contradictory statements. If you don't like being called a liar, don't lie. You care. Obviously, since you're so bent out of shape about it. Which is fine. Make a proper argument against correcting bad game design and I'll listen.
  23. Either you care or you don't care. First post, you didn't. Second, you did. Both can't be true. That which isn't true is a lie. It ain't rocket surgery.
  24. I went the other direction. Gaming rig has a single large curved monitor at 144Hz. L-shaped desk. Workstation is to the right of gaming rig with dual-24s. I like simple.
  25. But control and support both add to damage and survivability. So we're back to a single axis. My argument is that no blaster, corruptor or defender can match the survivability of the armors available to the sentinel AT throughout the course of their career.
