  1. I'm honestly unsure. But I doubt it'd be as awesome as the time my bio/claws tank sat at 1 HP with some glitched out absorption line across the screen.
  2. I was reminded that on the tanker charts back in March of last year in the thread below, Claws and SR were the absolutely least used powersets. It dumbfounded me then as it does now. I did note that my current build was sucking rather bad on the pylon time so I decided to fix it. Build is below. It's back under 5 mins to take down a pylon, sits in an aggro cap's worth of +4 Cimerorans with Practiced Brawler on auto and won't die while I go make lunch, and handled the max diff seafood buffet at the end of mission 1 of the ITF plus 4 incoming Cimeroran spawns without issue, without amps, without insps and without barrier. Is it the lack of a taunt aura? Cuz that has never been true. SR gets a taunt aura in Evasion for tanks and brutes. Low damage resistance? At base, this build sits at 42.81% SL, 32% FCEN and 14% TP. That's before the MotT +res, SR's scaling res and Reactive Defense's scaling res kick in. At 2 stacks of the tank IO, for +13.4%, and dropping to 40% health, +6% from RD and +20% from SR scaling, those jump to 82.21% SL and 71.4 FCEN while still having 1138 HP and sitting at just over 54% defense to all three positions. At 3 stacks of tank IO, (easily done when it's slotted in followup and your chain is either followup-focus-slash or followup-focus-spin-shockwave,) and 30% health, that's +20.1+30%+7% putting you at capped SL and 89.1 FCEN with 854 HP left. Are there a lot of things out there hitting for 8500 pts of damage? What about on the claws side? Do claws just not feel tanky? Is there a perceived low damage problem? By the numbers, it's damn near perfectly balanced between ST and AoE while sitting middle of the pack amongst all melee attack sets for both. So what's the scoop here? If it was just SR WITH Claws that was a problem, and sometimes is for me since SR doesn't buff damage at all, I could maybe grok it, but both at the very bottom? What am I missing? Edit for missed calc and a thought fart.
  3. Aye. Game and launcher both closed when txt file was replaced with edited version. I'll try again some time since it appears that it should have worked.
  4. Nonono. You're doing it wrong. To project it would be "I can solo everything at max diff therefore everyone else can, too. If people aren't, it's because they're CHOOSING to suck."
  5. That's the strange part. HC is in its own directory out on a third drive, so not locked down by Windows, remember username is always checked, yet edits I made to the file didn't show up at character select. Changes I make at character select change the file in question without issue.
  6. It doesn't solve the problem. I was hoping to edit playerslot.txt so that it's useful but its not useful in any way and seems to have no useful purpose.

  9. Dark melee pretty much got lost on me after I realized that my preferred chain of MG, Gloom, SL, Smite were all left handed attacks. Got real dull real fast. I know it would have been an absolute TON of work but it would have made me so damn happy to have alternating hand animations for every single handed attack in the game. Edit: To see what I mean, claws swipe on auto with a practice dummy in RWZ. It alternates wonderfully. But claws focus is only right handed. As is followup... unless you're hovering/flying and THEN it alternates. No clue why that is. Edit2: Holy crap... but claws swipe STOPS alternating if you're flying/hovering. MADNESS!

  11. Long story short: Got the playerslot.txt file all resorted exactly like I wanted it but found that it made no difference to the character select screen. Moving a single character then edits the playerslot.txt file back completely. So, what's the point of this file's existence and is there any way to quickly sort characters by alphabet or archetype? I see we can search by AT or Powerset so it should be possible, yes?

  13. Truth. I've built a lot of MMs, and I have one still but only because I want one of every AT fully built. I don't enjoy playing her and the primary reason is because the pets aren't even level with the player. Its get really old really fast having to keep respawning them/rebuffing them/etc.
  14. Still only have my first Sent at 50 but others are now in the works and I still play him a lot. Fire/bio with no epic pool. Tough as nails, great damage output, 3.5 min pylon average, soloed master rules max diff ITF (but it took a LOOOONG time to take down the AVs due to them bein all cowardly.) just a safe as can be tankmage. Next up is an AR/Nrg methinks.

Adding to what @SomeGuyhas stated, I recently hopped over to test to see if maybe, just maybe on my scrappers, throwing eviscerate into the chain with it's extra chance to crit and another FotG -damres proc would actually improve overall ST damage output but no matter what chain I attempted to use it with, it always fell short of just going followup, focus, slash, repeat. On the AoE side, brutes and tanks can run followup, focus, spin, shockwave while scrappers can go with just followup, spin, shockwave. When claws got ported to brutes and tanks, they increased the recharge and base damage on both spin and shockwave but left followup, focus and slash alone, thus the need for adding focus to the aoe chain on brutes and scrappers. You could run followup, spin, eviscerate, shockwave, but you'll actually be reducing your AoE output if you do just as you'd decrease your ST output using it. So, in the end, eviscerate just becomes a bad pick numerically on TOP of being an absolutely stupid attack visually. Now having played a dual blades to 50, I was struck by how perfectly Sweeping Strike's animation would have been for Claws Eviscerate. Fast, pointed at the gut, nice cone, brutal. But no... they had to leave it as silly backflip. Even the now very old cat on crack against a scratching post animation that swipe was 100 years ago would have been a better choice. I might be somewhat opinionated on this topic. 🙂 Edit: There *might* be an argument to take eviscerate on a tank *IF* the cone and # of targets hit are being increased there.
  16. Don't take eviscerate. And strike's ugly. Claws rocks on scrappers, brutes and tanks. They gutted it on stalkers by removing spin and turning the already sucktacular eviscerate into a single target attack. Between claws' KD with focus and shockwave (which needs the KB->KD IO) and dark's soft controls, you'll be very safe. There's absolutely an argument for going soul mastery for gloom and darkest night. (Although you may find that you don't ever need to use DN.) Don't even need a lot of recharge for followup, focus, slash, gloom, repeat. Perma-hasten should do the trick nicely.

  19. Some of us have angry ex-girlfriends? On topic, I've also got a sonic/dark cor that's an homage to a singer I dig. I could see that workin well for a banshee.
  20. Thanks to the recent overbuffs, all tanks do solid damage. Bio and Shield will make that damage even higher. But fun? 100% subjective. I have a great deal of fun with my dark/stone melee tank but that might have a lot to do with fold space. Man, I wish that thing recharged faster.

    Then I throw to you a tank I've found very interesting: Dark Armor/Stone Melee with Fold Space. It's an absolutely fantastic tanktroller. Yea, it's also a slow starter... really slow. But in the end it's just plain ol' fun as hell. You will absolutely want an alpha that buffs end reduction. I went with vigor core but cardiac would work, too.
