Thanks @Christopher Robin , I added a warning. Didn't even think about that since I keep my dA filters on. -
Art/Commission Sharing Thread
Oubliette_Red replied to Midnight Blue Mage's topic in Art & Multimedia
Also, one of the artists I watch has open commissions this month. https://www.deviantart.com/redgvicente (Warning, artist's landing page is NSFW) Not one of my character, but an example of their work. -

I was strolling through my dA favourites and came across these creations by CMKook, figured they be a nice blast from the past. -
Yeah, not really sure myself what the OP was trying to explain. It may come down to the game engine being a limiting factor on what the HC devs can accomplish. Granted, they we able to discombobulate the spaghetti code of the bases, so who knows.

Perhaps install vending machines in several locations and have those "dispense merchandise".

Not sure what you mean by instances. for the game "instances" are things like having multiple Atlas Parks. If you wish to run more than one character at a time, then you will need multiple accounts, though they can live on the same computer. Pretty sure there's a guide somewhere.

You can also check out @The Philotic Knight Rosetta thread. Not sure if he's been able to scrub for sfx for the new powers yet.

Is there a way to turn up just the sound of glowies?
Oubliette_Red replied to DougGraves's topic in General Discussion
Why yes, yes there is. 😁 I changed my glowies to sound like a pack of laughing hyenas... it's pretty noticeable. PK's tool is the easiest way to go about it. -
Decrease cooldown between outfit changes?

Less that 15 seconds? Only if no costume change animation is being used. Can you imagine a dozen players spamming lightning every 5 seconds? -
[Opinion Request] General Desk/Gaming/Movie Chair
Oubliette_Red replied to WanderingAries's topic in Off-Topic
If you spend a great deal of time at your desk, for work and play, then I highly recommend investing in a sit-stand desk. You may be able to get those at a used office furniture place as well, but I got mine here... https://www.imovr.com/standing-desk-workstations/standalone-standing-desk-bases-tops.html If you are handy or know someone who is that can make a top for you, it cuts down on the price. -

I had to defend the game's honor folks...
Oubliette_Red replied to JnEricsonx's topic in General Discussion
Some folks still have their panties in a bunch over ED. Get down off the cross, take the wood, build a bridge and get over it. Regarding changes to games shortly after launch, there isn't a multi-player PC/console/mobile game that had enough game play data prior to launch to realistically cover how any mechanic/item/etc will be used by the masses once it gets released. A dozen testers, closed betas with hundreds or even thousands of players open betas with possibly tens of thousands of players in which only a percentage will report issues and gameplay mechanics, while the rest just want to see the new shiney is nowhere near the amount of eyes on a game once it's launched. A great deal of data is captured during the first days and weeks after launch, adjustments are sure to follow. This is how game development works. -
Solo players - what parts of a mission matter to you?
Oubliette_Red replied to DougGraves's topic in General Discussion
The story. It's the primary reason I solo mission/ story arcs. There is still Legacy content I've not run, mostly on redside. The same goes for AE missions, I want to travel through an interesting story. Mobs, especially custom mobs should be a part of the story not just an obstacle to get through. -
[Opinion Request] General Desk/Gaming/Movie Chair
Oubliette_Red replied to WanderingAries's topic in Off-Topic
I had an Aeron Chair at my old job and loved it. Found one at one of those used office furniture places for about $150. -

Increasing Difficulty without Undoing Things
Oubliette_Red replied to Steampunkette's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
You are missing a group: People that still find the game challenging as is (because they have no interesting spending hours in Mids eeking out every last .02% of damage/resist/etc) What I'm against is a wholesale change to the game that impacts every player regardless of their playstyle preferences. What I am for is providing players with tools that allow them to crank up their own difficulty. -
The thing about marketeering ATOs is to look at what's selling and what's available in the market. ATOs selling at 7-9mil are not going to get you a good return on your investment. Attuned ATOs generally get you a bigger bang for your buck, but not all of those are in demand either. Often I would get catalysts and converters along with the ATOs and other random awards, I don't have a plethora of 50s so if need be I would convert an ATO to one my Controller or Corruptor could slot, use a catalyst it to upgrade it to a superior and then convert it (if need be) to a more in-demand piece, selling at 25-35mil. I didn't spend a lot of time on this, maybe 30 minutes a week. I'm sure some folks spent more time doing something similar. I haven't marketeers for a while, so no ides what the market currently looks like, but that has been my past experience.

Looking to buy a new mouse. Vertical mouse?
Oubliette_Red replied to Echo Night's topic in General Discussion
Oddly enough, my sister is having the same double-click issue on my old G-500 that I gave her. Haven't had the same issue with my G-502 (granted, I did program the macro button for rapid-fire clicking.) I've had co-workers that used the vert mouse for programming/graphics/etc, not sure if they used them while gaming though. -
The same could be said for folks costume editing there as well. The constant cluster in the plaza is one of the reasons I wish they'd give us Galaxy City back. It was quieter and so much less lag. Regarding the topic, I'm not onboard with limiting runs in DfB/DiB for players. It'd be nice if there was a way to de-clutter the LFG channel, but then it's being used for the purpose for which it is intended. I think one way to attract new players away from DfB/DiB XP runs is to perhaps have SG with members stationed in AP welcoming new characters and occasionally broadcasting teaming up for runs in the AP introductory contacts/missions. Perhaps use our own low-level characters.

Back before my secondary drive died and took all of my sound files with it, putting a pause on my sound modifications for the game, I created a couple of characters that I used to verify changes. This is one of them... Toats Random
