  1. I can say, with my first round of testing with EM on Beta. I lacked Tactics and noticed the difference. OMG! Back to putting Tactics into my build. 🙂 Less missing!
  2. True. However, to even get a second fast ET, you'll have to assume every TF gets a critical. We know that's not going to happen. So, you'll either be stuck with a slow ET or have to plan around never having one.
  3. Nah. You're just assuming you're going to be able to fit 2 ETs into every application of TF. Which, for the non Scrappers/Stalkers, they may just avoid that, and for the Scrappers/Stalkers, I'm guessing they can do some serious damage without two in a TF cycle.
  4. I see in the popularity thread, TW was up there enough, but I do have to wonder if the players who had them, kept on playing them, as I don't see them that often in PuG. Not to the point I would think they were that popular. So, is the idea to nerf or to make it so people want to keep playing them at high level? I don't even recall if I got mine to 50. I know I didn't keep playing it, and I've made more than one. Not that I had a problem with it being some top tier, OMG, if you really go all in on making one, this is the set. Though, wasn't the point of the set, to have high end and long animations, to justify the high damage, and then have it's gimmick to be, keeping that damage formula, but with faster animation time?
  5. If you miss with ET, it doesn't mean you get a slow ET. Avoiding slow ET is easy to do with what they're giving us. TF > ET > Whatever needed to get back to TF > ET
  6. Well, you will be able to avoid the slow animation, if you always maintain TF > ET.
  7. As a scrapper player, I don't mind it going back to BS myself. However, I do like the idea of giving Barrage something for people to go "Oooooo" about, as I think all tier 1/2 powers should be a hard choice to pick from 🙂
  8. Ninja and the Blaster Archery Secondary. This is a change that just needs to go. It's not needed. It's not overpowered. It's a tiny plus to the sets, that's all.
  9. It seems the only reason people care about where the -Regen/-Special/More Stun is located, is because they believe they're going to get double ET in that Double Energy Focus all the time. I'd call the double EF a bonus, not worry about spending it on Barrage or Bone Smasher (if it even goes back to BS). As for the other ATs that don't get double EF, I'd imagine under most circumstances, the idea will be to use the EF for fast ET, not worrying about a boosted Stun. Now, there may be a reason for a melee to want to use that boosted BS, but it'd like be rare and easily able to sacrifice a fast ET to get it.
  10. Mace wasn't an original Scrapper set though. If I was going to suggest classic scrapper... Claws/Regen or Spines/Dark. Claws/Regen was my first 50. Claws/Dark was my very first Scrapper (and hero) made in CoH. Though I deleted that first one and remade it as Spines/Dark later when a new concept came about. I may have kept the original Claws/Dark, but I came in during the first Winter Event, so all I knew was sit and wait for giant snowmen. 😛
  11. I will say, I like seeing Barrage get something that has people eyeing it over Energy Punch. I wouldn't be upset if it was back in Bone Smasher. That said, while I want to work toward some solid ST DPS numbers, I was never going to worry enough, that I was going to be all "Noooo! Wasting it on Bone Smasher!" 😛
  12. Oh. I don't find that to be much of a worry myself. I was likely to go some route of, for example, Barrage > BS > TF > ET > Moonbeam > Repeat anyways. So, really, all this really does, is have me use TF before ET for sure, instead of starting off ET > TF > Whatever > Repeat, which would then lead to ET going fast, except on that first one. On Dual Blades I'll put three attacks in a row for Combo. Street Justice, I'll go for the Level 3 Crushing Uppercut or Spinning Strike and sometimes deal with a Level 2. I can't remember my Elec Melee, Claws or Spines (Claws and Spines being before HC) rotations, but when it came to ST big guns, I stayed in a pattern. So, this feels no different to me. Of course, it may feel different from others. Though, looking back at my EM/Regen Brute...about the same. Really, I'm just getting my fast ET back from before the nerf, which had me shelve my WP/EM Tanker.
  13. Were you trying to put in PC? If so, try without and see how it feels would be my suggestion. Playing around with the set and trying to maximize AOE, just seemed counter to what I liked about the set. ST focus with a PBAOE. Pretty much makes me happy. Worked for me on my DB, which I know has a cone, but I treated that cone like a ST attack anyways 😛

I still feel I'd be happier, concept wise, with Regen, Ninja or WP. There's some easy switching about and I'm not 100% on if it's enough recharge for a great ST DPS.
  15. I have thought on that one too, but it's in that #4 slot.
  16. I already can't use Combat Jumping with Ninja Run, which was always kinda meh to me, let's not do this to the Primary/Secondary powers too!
  17. So. Ran a Radio Mission. EM/Regen Scrapper. Never was good at the cones I guess, because it made me wish Power Crash was Targeted AOE 🙂 I do feel as if every power is worth taking. WH for AOE and PC for more AOE if you don't feel WH is enough. Though, to be honest, I feel with enough recharge for WH, I can do without PC. I don't AE farm as much as others though, so I may be used to lower amount of AOE. I do like the animation for PC though. The animation itself has a power feel, imo. So many good powers in EM now, makes it hard to want to give up something, to fit in the Range attack and Hold attack I like to put into my scrappers. O.O Likely give up PC myself, but not an easy give up, which I believe every power in a Primary/Secondary should be! Now I just have to decide Regen, Ninjitsu, or WP, to reroll my main into!
  18. Seeing as how it only effects Ninjitsu on Scrappers and Sentinels, I don't see how it's outshined.
  19. That would bypass the mechanic all the time. TF > ET. Since TF gives EF all the time, whether you hit or miss, people just wouldn't get a loss of life. Not to mention, the "Take no loss of life" is from Scrapper's and Stalker's Criticals, nothing else, and they're not promised a critical (well, Stalker's I believe can be). Brute's will get full Fury ET, while Scrappers and Stalkers only get a 28% Crit Bonus to damage. Tanker's get more health to take the self damage of ET better than Scrappers and Stalkers too. Do we give them more health, to make up for Tanker's taking the ET life drain better? This aspect is what makes the difference between the ATs with these power sets. If you really want the chance not to get hit by the ET loss of life, which has been happening this whole time, while Stalkers can already avoid on a critical on live, the best thing to do, would be to roll a Scrapper or Stalker or use a secondary you think is better setup to handle the loss of life.
  20. Change it up so Fire Melee's DoT is smaller with the same amount of ticks per attack, upping the upfront attacks damage? Giving it a better arc on Fire Breath (better AOE). Oooh. Keep Cremate ST, but a side effect of AOE splash damage too? So many ideas! O.O I mean, I won't likely use it, since I've been wanting Energy Melee forever for Scrappers, but it seems like there would be ways to get Fire up there, without being ST or AOE king, but really good at both, with no survival benefit (leaving that strictly for the secondary and IOs)
  21. I would think Fire Melee should be a good mix of ST and AOE. Not the top of either, but high on the list for both. Perhaps the bench mark for others in terms of AOE, ST and Survival.
  22. Agreed. It's kinda suckie, but should always be tough choices.
  23. Exactly! And being able to use Ninja Run as a travel power, with the weapon sets (love Ninja Run with Dual Pistols) it was one little benefit that had no real impact on anything. Terrible to see they think it needs to go. I just saw it as one of the little pluses of the set. Like SR or ElecA getting +SPD passives
  24. There was never a reason or a need to do that though. With that line of thinking, we may as well be saying, all the melee sets should have a range attack, because plenty of them do.
  25. No, it doesn't. Because that's been the problem with all powersets for all ATs from the start. Taking a power, they may not want. I wouldn't even say they've forced people to take the power. DPS wise, it sounds like people are saying EP is better still. I am however, all for them only have the two spenders, however, I liked the idea of giving those with EM as a Primary a reason to decide between T1 or T2.
