I base my love of Tactics + Gaussian's proc for the fact it has a chance to fire for everyone your Tactics is buffing, which includes mastermind pets, etc. (Unless someone's proven that not to be true? Pretty sure not, but I can be wrong) When you're in a league, that ain't nothing, and I love MSR, ha ha. Have to admit I hadn't thought about the use of some extra accuracy when you're gonna blow a huge AoE off in everyone's faces though, that's a fair point. I suppose I could check a build for another form of BU or something before skipping. And it's funny, I think every build always takes Leadership but many seem to skip travel powers all together now (which is fine, Ninja Run+Sprint with an occasional jet pack can do just fine, but it does get old after a bit).

This is probably going to be a profoundly stupid question that will follow me the rest of my days on these boards, forever nipping at my heals whenever I open my mouth here; each of you will nudge the other and roll your eyes, muttering "this guy." But here goes: Aim, that power that all the blasters and corruptors and others get, is it all the important? I mean, am I missing something? I tend to play distance shooters and squishies, and I hardly ever think to click it in the heat of combat, and when I have I didn't really notice anything different in my chances to hit. Sure, I could slot a Gaussian's in there, but those go better in Tactics (especially the proc). I see everyone apparently does work Aim their builds that they post here, but they never seem to slot it much past two Recharges (unless they just dump their Gaussian's set in there instead of Tactics for some reason). Might one even, gasp, skip Aim? tl;dr: Aim? More like 'lame', right?! Let the pillorying begin!

Silly me, I've started a Beam/Traps and just got Lancer the last time I played. Considering what all options I might have for pewpewpew when the character gets more fleshed out, I think it probably does make more sense to put the BU in there instead of Disintegrate, now.

Here's the ironic twist: I was taking one of my 50s off Excelsior to participate in the nightly MSR on Indom. Because I play more on Excelsior these days as I'm up late at night, but the raids on Indom are great and always well-attended.

Cannot wait to see how wild you'll get on Saturday. But yeah, bump, I'd love it if people could ever swing this for us.

Oh yeah, that name thing. I doubt that'd ever affect me, my name's almost never conflict, I have odd ones in general (just see my sig).

Now see, that's what I thought but the screen made it sound like I was signing up for Scientology or something. Thanks for the info!

Can someone give the quick low down on swapping servers? I thought about doing it with a toon tonight and got the window with the disclaimers, all of which I knew about, except for something about "this will lose you one token in your pool and can't be undone" or stuff. Is this holdover from live? I was under the impression we can swap a few times a month at least or something, but this sounded dire, somehow.

Take my kick - please! I'd love to do something like that, because I always take kick over boxing, but I never have the slots to spare.

I am both saddened and disappointed I see no shindigs going on in this thread.

Crysis: I was wondering about these two choices, the proc you put into them. Level 6: Disintegrate -- EntChs-Heal%(A), EntChs-Acc/Dmg(7), EntChs-Dmg/EndRdx(7), EntChs-Dmg/Rchg(15), EntChs-Dmg/EndRdx/Rchg(23), Dvs-Hold%(42) and Level 12: Lancer Shot -- EntChs-Heal%(A), EntChs-Acc/Dmg(13), EntChs-Dmg/EndRdx(13), EntChs-Dmg/Rchg(15), EntChs-Dmg/EndRdx/Rchg(23), Dcm-Build%(42) Now, I can see how fun it would be to perhaps hold targeta a lot, but with as often as one might be firing off Disintegrate (I mean, I do a fair amount), wouldn't it be better to have the Build-Up in there instead of Lancer? Or do you just know you're going to sometimes skip Disintegrate for the mad pewpewpew during a good steamrolling like I sometimes do as well?

I know and actually don't care if it ends up looking a little funny. Hell, I still want a "lower-half of the body is a snake" option, even for Martial Arts.

Just set up a new scrapper on Excelsior, WOLF AT THE DOOR, with that big riot shield with the viewplate in it, so it sort of looks like... a door? I took broadsword for his attack although I'm not super sold on that yet. Anyway, his catchphrase is "Knock knock!" ETA; oh yeah, he deffo has a wolf's head, I forgot to mention.

How do you deal with your pets while rushing in missions?
Clave Dark 5 replied to Paperwait's topic in Mastermind
Sometimes I feel bad about not being able to keep up on speed runs, like with any toons. Then, on the other hand I realize that this means they're doing the work for me, so I don't mind so much, ha ha. Just the other day, as an example, I was doing a DfB, playing a scrapper, and the rest of the team wouldn't you know it was Blaster, Sentinels, Corrs, etc. Range attacks. I kept rushing around mobs getting up in their faces only to have them die before I could get off an attack. "Aw man..." then I realized I wasn't taking any damage now running out of End either. 🙂 Same principle. -

But the pewpewpew! If I have to read several pages about how to use Force Field then I'll never get around to playing the game! -

Hear hear! I like the idea of messing about with builds, but it really is just sort of boring to me, too quickly. I'd rather spend my hour just pewpewpewing. -
The only farming I do on any kind of a regular basis is MSR, and that's usually maybe twice a week? I hate Wenworthing, that's jut dull. Yet, all those toon sin my sig have builds with IOs, some even have some purples. Just play and everything will come your way eventually, plus you'll find you were playing all along without those things too. The frills on your character are fun, but not as fun as the character themselves; that stuff's just frills.

Broken Teeth soundtrack to the area in Croatoa. I just like the spaciness of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pl5-KYL0qQ -
Eda's been star-tracking us?! And here's I've been showing up for these raids without a tie!

They are if they're what you want to play. :) The game's very elastic and if you should run across someone who tries to dictate what you play, steer a wide berth around that goofball. You can play what you want to play and most people won't care (and if they do they're goofballs). The "experts" here might tell you to never take this or that set and so on, but most players are not forum "experts." That said, defenders are slow going at lower levels if you're soloing as I understand it (I always team, so I wouldn't know for sure). That "I don't really need to be here" effect is true, often, for any member of a team; yes, they could roll along without you. That's OK, that's how the game usually plays - as I said, it's elastic. Roles aren't so rigidly set.

My mains tend to be toons I had such a blast playing that they rushed to 50 and then I built up with some good slotting and bothered to take Incarnates on. Trouble is, then I sort of wander away and then find myself playing another toon all the time. All my mains are listed in my sig. Here and there I've pulled one out and done something simple with them, but then again I've also not been playing too much as of late, guess I got a little burned out. But I always seem to get seduced away with a new toon, so I don't really have "mains" either.
-
Seconded, kind of feels like it's just not worth my time to try and work around a problem that hasn't been fixed.

Mastermind's don't get a lot of exercise, what with having minions around to do everything for them. When they have to expend themselves to fling that bubble or Sonic attack or pull out that rifle, man, they just don't have the same stamina a normal, actual hero or villain does, you know?

Did Blasters get a Carp Melee set yet?
