  1. I, for one, was glad when the cape and aura unlocks went the way of the dodo... I play Oranbegan characters and it annoyed the ever-loving CRAP out of me when my Death Mage or my Thorn Wielder had to wait until they'd already leveled through a big chunk of the game before they could have the glowing eyes they ought to have had from the start. In a game where character customization is and was such a huge draw, locking something as basic as an eye-glow behind a level 30 mission was just... silly. Walling off capes was absolutely pants-on-head nuts.
  2. Eh. You might not approve, but to be completely honest? If I ended up running into that character and he said something like that Emo Furry Weaboo business to my rakshasa illusion controller, or one of my kitsune characters? The player would be on /gignore so fast his avatar's head would spin. I absolutely WOULD judge him as someone I had zero interest in interacting with, no matter what his other characters might be like. Sorry if that offends anyone, but I like to be able to play in peace. That often involves having to be proactive with the "NOPE!"-button.
  3. I don't mind them having it... It makes them interesting... But I do think the duration could stand to be shorter than it is. The annoying bit to me isn't that they can go all YOUCANTTOUCHME. It's that they *stay that way* for what seems like half an eternity. <_<
  4. It'll be easy, your contact said... Just skip into Oranbega and find some book with a magic ritual in it, they said... No problem, right? You go in there and rob those silly ghost-wizards all the time, don't you? It'll be a cake-walk! Yeah. About that... 'Looks like the spooks may have gotten a little tired of uninvited guests rampaging through their home and taking their stuff... They're not throwing the behemoths and ghosts at you this time... .... So, I'd start that line-up with Semnai and the Aegis of Serenity... a Thorn Wielder and a living Ward spell (Broadsword/Bio Brute, built around ridiculous regeneration, and Illusion/Time Controller with ludicrous recharge), then add in Kai and Tes for Moar Damage (KM/Bio Stalker and Street/Shield Scrap built with shredding things in mind), Oreviel and Ivory for pure evil (Rev is a Rad/Dark Defender designed to debuff ALL THE THINGS, while Ivory is a Time/Dark Defender who was built to be able to jump right into the middle of groups with a crazy melee partner), while ending the line-up with Tavaris (My Dark/Bio Sentinel Death Mage, who's a little more controllery than blasty, plus tough enough to off-tank with) and Sarhadi (Dark/Dark/Soul "Tentacle Blaster", who also leverages the control and debuff bits of Dark-). I'm not sure how they would fare in the end, but there would be tentacles EVERYWHERE, nobody would hit nuthin' and whoever got cornered by Tesamun and then spiked by Kaikara would probably have a few choice words to share with their contact regarding any more missions to go and "borrow" things from the Circle for a bit. 😆
  5. I have a couple of favorites... I'd still call Kai (the KM/Bio Stalker that I actually have two identical red-side/blue-side versions of-) my Main, but I'm also really fond of Semnai (Broadsword/Bio Brute) and Ivory (Time/Dark Defender).
  6. 'Could be. We haven't gotten to the point of explaining Incarnates to the familial newbies, yet, but I'm curious if that will make more sense to them than the enhancement invention discussions have.
  7. Someone else got "Paws for Concern" before my sib-in-law could claim it... But FCM and I were giggling over getting both "Paws for Effect" and "Paws for Reflection" on Ev.
  8. For what it's worth, I seem to end up teaming with a lot of them when I'm on my support characters... And FCM and I are in the process of teaching our brand-new-to-the-game nephew and his mom the ropes of the game, so I'm not just talking out of my bum here when I say we may not be the game's "average players". I see the 'other side' pretty regularly... Plus, very few of those people seem willing to interact with the forums.
  9. NOTHING involved with the coding in this game is a trivial task. *Nothing*. 😝
  10. It might be a back-end challenge to get right, yeah... but it's not one of those SUperDooperBadWrongPowerCReepDUmbingDownOMGWTFBBQ. kind of suggestions that might deserve bringing out the knives.
  11. There's a tendency, especially among forum regulars, to assume that the majority of players in-game do things the same way we do... That comes up rather your talking about IOs, or setting mission difficulty, or just about anything else. Until one of the devs comes in here and says "Yeah, We ran a database sort on the characters people have created, and the majority are using at least partial IO/Set-builds", it's NOT A SAFE BET to assume that our experiences are typical or that a majority are slotting IOs. Not even here on Homecoming, with its higher number of experienced players.
  12. I suspect so... It would certainly make ship raids and such a... different experience, let's say. iTrials likewise.
  13. *shrugs* It's not a huge issue either way (And I'm saying that as the player with a raft full of Willpower characters. 😝 ), but an "all on" slash command or something wouldn't be a horrible addition to the game. I certainly wouldn't consider it "dumbing down" the experience to cater to "creampuff players". I mean, seriously... It's just not that huge a change. Keep some perspective, guys.
  14. Absolutely. The UI and bubbles have to match either the primary costume or effects colors.
  15. Try this: A random idea - Everlasting - Homecoming (homecomingservers.com) The AT picker at the start will tell you which one to play. The specific sets are after that, if you have... say... one of each on your crew.
  16. So, you want people to have to keep a constant eye on their buff bar to avoid losing the extra level? I'd call that also not an ideal situation, and not all that less annoying than the constant pop-ups we used to see with old-school side-kicking. But then, I may be a bit biased here. I don't really think the problem you guys are trying to solve actually is all that pressing an issue.
  17. Same. It's pretty much a matter of "If the colors CAN be changed, they WILL BE changed". And/Or I'll make use of No FX options,
  18. Pretty much all of the regular missions arc contacts in that level range just LOOOOVE to send you there.... Usually to doors on the far end of the zone from the gate... over and over and over again. Thanks to that, you can end up spending a fair bit of time there if you're running that content. <_<
  19. Oh great gods, NO... No return to Sidekicking distance-leashes. I don't care what effect it's tied to. The constant pop-up text alone was annoying as all hell. 😫
  20. My 'bots mastermind back-in-the-day would have pointed out that his minions were, indeed, ALREADY lady-bots. (Their names were Lily, Violet, Rose, Ginger, Ivy and Petunia. 😆 ) Though... granted... it was difficult for non-mechanical humanoids to tell.
  21. It's just streaky as all hell. I farm pretty regularly, and sometimes you'll get multiples on three maps in a row... Other times? You'll go a few weeks without seeing a single one. (I'm in one of those stretches, at the moment. 'Haven't seen a purple drop in a dog's age. <_<)
  22. I thought the live devs had fixed that issue somewhere along the line... leaving the street spawns alone when invasions were in-progress?
  23. Same here.... I have a few who are max height. I also have a couple who are tiny. Most are somewhere in the middle, though that usually means adding a little to the "starting height" to keep them from looking like shrimps next to everything else in the game.
  24. The Shard actually does have a repeatables contact... That's Hammond. He's right across from the entry portal in Zulu.
  25. I'm one of the weirdos who actually LIKES the Shard. The TFs aren't the most thrilling, but the place itself is gorgeous and the goons are interesting. As for the other TF/SFs... I can't stand Synapse's or Numina's... They're both just way-too-long snore-fests. The Shard TFs may drag, but at least they have the advantage of interesting scenery! Synapse? Not so much. 🤣
