  1. I respec'd out of RoP on 90% of the characters that I had which used it. Having a maximum up-time of 25% is not worth spending three power choices and taking up one of four power pool choices. It went from being pretty dang good to marginal at best.
  2. heals are still good and needed, but other buffs and debuffs are as well so I would drop Empathy for Pain or another set.
  3. Don't get me wrong Emps can be strong, but... - I like the mix of buffs and debuffs in Pain and Thermal - I am always going to to play more offensively minded so of course I'd prefer something like a Pain Defender which also buffs itself with +tohit, +damage, +resist, etc. - I don't see the need for a dedicated healer and too many Emp are "pure Emps" who focus too much on Emp'ing and don't help enough directly in a fight - the +resist buffs from other sets means less need for healing, and it helps a lot on alphas and spikes as opposed to relying on an Emp's reflexes? - I have seen Sonic Resonance keep teams alive better than an Emp running 801.D in AE - so yeah an Emp doesn't suit me, instead for myself I prefer to play Dark, Pain, Time, and Nature
  4. I'd rather both play and have Pain or Thermal on my team.
  5. Why omit the highest damage attack with the best DPA in both sets? That, IMO that is a mistake.
  6. Not with Elec Blast, but perhaps with Beam for ST.
  7. because I don't want to waste slots and possibly power picks on crappy powers that are only useful during an extremely low % of the time. I know I don't spend much time mezzed. And that said often times my T1 or T2 attacks still have a couple slots but they are not a part of my attack chain.
  8. I agree with fixing the Assassin's Focus. It does fail a lot for no apparent reason, and sometimes doesn't build as expected. And in my experience some sets are worse than others. For me Elec Melee has the most problems with the mechanic, whereas on my Dark and Energy Melee Stalkers it works much much better.
  9. I like the Martial set, my most fun Blaster is Psi/Martial. That said I don't like the randomness of Reach for the Limit, especially if it procs that low, wow. I monitor my damage bonus on my screen and it seems to proc fairly often. I would prefer a flat buff like Targeting Drone than a random one. I would suggest to give RftL either a flat dmg buff or turn it into a mini defiance-like buff that buffs on each attack AND put some +to-hit in Burst of Speed (similar to Combat Teleport).
  10. Personally I wouldn't recommend leaving out Burst of Speed and Dragon Tail while taking mediocre attacks form DP. IMO as an idea (quickly tweaked from my DP/Temporal build) something like this would do more damage, with more AoE and offer more damage mitigation.   11. I'm guessing for the the -to-hit, but why not just lead with Smoke Grenade? But then why not Flame Mastery because Bonfire is a much better for damage mitigation and control and combines well with Caltrops.
  12. Mental's Drain Psyche has huge upside and is the most powerful sustain. Energy's "click" sustain Energize is easily made perma and is just as good as other sustain powers. In fact, it has the advantage of also having high Stun Protection. As for Dark's sustain I think it is poop, & it should put into Death Shroud just like what was done with Electricity's Sustain Power.
  13. I play something more like this for my Main which is Psi/Martial. You can use barrier if you want but I normally Blapp without deaths on +4/8 and use mostly Rebirth, sometimes Ageless Radial. Use KD, Repel, Stuns, Slows, Rains, etc to mitigate. With a Resist Shield you'll take a lot less dmg when you do and when you team they'll be boosting your defense further usually with a couple maneuvers. You can also Suggest Intuition Radial for your Alpha Incarnate slot.   16. yes but some were comparing Elec blaster with Taser to only Fire Blast, that's how this came up
  17. yes but if you are comparing primaries then compare like to like and stick to the powers of the primary sets. Why not do that same comparison but take out Flares and add Taser? Also (not just to undefyre, but the OP and others as well) just because people speak poorly of Elec Blast doesn't mean that they don't like Elec blast per se. Perhaps, like me, they wish it was better so it would be an actual option w/o me knowing/feeling that I am playing a poorer performer. For instance I use Elec Blast on one of my two main Sentinel (E3) and the set was improved for Sentinels and was made a fair choice amongst the other blast sets (side note: my personal favorite Sentinel of mine is Sonic/Bio/Psi and Sonic was another set that was buffed to make it an actual choice IMO) Elec is only a competitive set if one is blapping, that way one only needs to take Aim, Ball of Lightning, Zapp, and Thunderous Blast (and possibly the proc'd Tesla Cage). So it's not a problem for me because IMO it's the way a blaster should be played because who would ignore so many great melee and PBAoE powers in the secondary power sets? Unless you are playing /Tactical Arrow. So perhaps Elec Blast is not as bad as people perceive, but that is entirely due to the advent of quick snipe and the ability to proc Tesla Cage IMO. I think most of the negativity may be its past haunting the set, and the set missing a top tier non-snipe blast power like Blaze, Bitter Ice Blast, Blazing Arrow, Water Jet, TK Blast, etc.

I am positive that my Fire/Mental/Fire farmer is a better farmer than any Electric Blast Farmer, and he can solo the cave Map no problem (just not AFK) Or Dual Pistols or Archery, or Water, or, or, or... With the longest recharge for any nuke (tied with Ice), Elec is lagging behind once again...

This spreadsheet is sandbagging 1 - Taser is from Devices and boosting the perceived dmg from Elec 2 - I don't need/use Flares in any of my Fire Blast builds for an attack chain, so you are needlessly lowering the Damage of Fire It is obvious to anyone looking at Elec Blast, the dmg is inferior to most blast sets, especially to Fire. The only good powers in the set are BoL, Zapp and Thunderous Blast (And Short Circuit IF you want a sapper).

  21. QFT and I'd add that Blasters also benefit nicely from their Sustain Power in each of the Blasters' secondary sets.
  22. Yes Domination is vital for that reason and b/c it is one's mez protection, because despite having range attacks Dominators are really a melee AT. They are vest described as Blaptrollers. Which is also one of many reasons why for starters, Dominators should be given small boost in their damage modifiers equal to Blasters but in reverse. They deserve a little reward for the higher risk they have to take to reach their potential and utilize many of its best attacks. Archetype Melee Range Blaster 1.000 1.125 Dominator 1.050 0.950
  23. If you want the most out of any Dom (with the exception being /Fire) then you will be playing in melee range like a Blapper. Good news is you have status protection via Domination, so make it perma asap, which means hasten plus about another 80% global recharge. If you are not in melee range then you are loosing out on AoE, and on most of the best damaging attacks from all the sets. So Dominators are not an AT for playing it safe if you want to maximize damage, control, and frankly a Dominators potential. If you want range the play Mind/ Plant/ Earth/ Grav/ with /Fire.
  24. The Psi resist "problem" is overblown, speaking from the experience of having Psi Melee or Blast on 4 Blasters (1 Primary, 3 Secondary), 2 Brutes, 2 Stalkers, 2 Doms, 1 Scrapper, 1 Corruptor and 1 Defender. Psi Melee does a lot of dmg, more than most sets, and killing even Robots is not a problem.

Invuln can cover that whole while having all the rest Invuln has to offer, While Stone is either or, and Non-granite Stone is inferior to every other Tank IMO I made a Invuln/DM which softcaps def S/L/E/N/F/C and maxes out Resist to S/L/E/N and has reaches 72% resist to psi with the +Res Proc and with capped HP. I will take that Invuln over any Stone tank every day of the week, and twice on Sundays. No -rech, no -dmg, no -movement, no changing forms, etc, etc. And the same goes for Shield IMO, well and every other set 😜
