It for some reason never occurred to me to detach the map so i could leave it up and move contact/mish/compass to the middle. that's clearly better than what i was doing before.
-
I've not had a problem with it apart from burn and the issue there is that both the initial hit and the pseudo-pet patch have a chance to proc. I have it in sweeping cross, irradiated ground, psi-blade sweep, dreadful wail, jacob's ladder, and spin. None of them have had the knockback issue.
-
I spoke to Pine about this issue and he explained what's going on. It's not a bug. The problem is with putting it into burn - burn has an initial damage portion and then a patch which is a pseudo-pet. The proc can trigger on either to knockdown. If it triggers on both the knockdown magnitudes compound and you get the crazy tossing out of the burn patch. So essentially the fix is to slot the set somewhere other than burn. Problematic, I know, as that's often the most open spot for it. Also for future reference the Winter IOs are bucketed in the auction house so it's cheaper to sell your regular and rebuy superior than to use a catalyst.

ATO's should lose the /Recharge split on their Procs.
Mr. Vee replied to JPax's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Seems like it could be an an awful lot of work just for the few folks who're splitting the proc from the rest of the set and trying to optimize ppm, but if it's not a lot of work I could see it being an ok idea. -
I for one have purples in every build. not as many as I used to have but that's only because I have only so many slots, ATOs are must slot, and winters are often a better option. So my demand for them is only limited by my speed of leveling, which is now slow as I don't PL anything unless it's practically unplayable. Thanks to attuned enhancements and a huge bankroll pretty much nothing falls into that category anymore. But I have plenty of friends who PL alt after alt and use the same sorts of top end builds I do for everything. I don't think they're rare either. So I think my demand and that of people like my friends will be pretty well constant for the foreseeable future. But since I don't see any factors increasing demand now I think a general downward trend will continue due to attrition and the fact that most who play actively have their farmers and mains kitted out already. But as Yomo pointed out, with so much influence in play a stagnant demand and increased supply may not necessarily mean as much of a downward price trend as you'd normally expect.

True that. And it's great that we have a non-unique for kb crazy sets. Now if we could just get a -repel IO so my stormy could mindlessly run hurricane without griefing my endurance drain aura.
-
Claws is great fun and thanks to kb to kd IOs is better than ever with shockwave being less situational. Dual blades isn't for everyone - if you're like me and will chase the combos just because...reasons? then it's not the best set. If you can ignore those highlighted powers unless appropriate and stick with what you know is a better dps chain it's a fine set. Personally I'd go with claws, and not just because it's one of my favorite sets but also because of shockwave being an extra mitigating power that's not combo-dependent. Invulnerable can be a rough ride at times on brute and the extra knockback will come in handy. Of course my invulnerable brute on live was fire/ so i had no mitigation period. You might be fine with just vengeful strike. Should also be noted it was my third toon so I was still clueless on what to take/how to build etc 😄
-
There may very well be a known problem, but it's not happening in bonfire, shockwave, or explosive arrow. I've used it extensively in those and it works perfectly. (I have it in gremlins on my elec/storm troller but with all the insanity of hurricane/tornado/lightning storm I'd never notice if it weren't working correctly.) Only time I've come across a proc adding knockback problem is when I briefly had the avalanche one slotted in burn and it would kb sometimes. Pine told me it was due to the proc going off on the initial damage hit and then again on the pseudopet patch part in that case.
-
Just went and checked the difference using an unslotter. I can't tell any difference between how overwhelming works and sudden acceleration other than the added damage in the former. I even checked on -1's which would have been more likely to knockback if it were only doing a chance to convert.
-
I was using it today a ton on my blaster and i have it on my fire/kin and another blaster as well. No knockback, It made bonfire so broken on live they had to adjust the power. I remember before they adjusted it having 3 x8 mobs all bouncing at once on a mid 30s dom and not even having to bother with my other controls.
-
Sigh, elaboration's so distasteful 😛 Overwhelming force proc will add damage and convert bonfire's grief-yourself-knockback to knockdown. It will absolutely not compound knockback mag. Sudden acceleration will do the same kb to kd but without the damage. Overwhelming force is fine used as a chance to kd proc in a different power but it's perfect for bonfire as a converter. Also of note (i completely forgot this til the other day myself) is that bonfire can be used around corners so you can cripple mobs without them being able to alpha you.
-
I know you wanted the defense shield but if you could live with a resist the aim/upshot/rain of arrows/bonfire combo from around a corner is just hilarious. I'd somehow forgotten until the other day that you can use ground targeted AOEs without line of sight but am using it like mad now.
-
Throw a theft of essence chance for + endurance in the dark armor heal. I'm not sure if it works quite as well as it did before the proc changes as i've not tried DA on HC but it definitely made an impact in the amount of end the rad armor aoe heal returned.

there were a series of spam thread posts early this morning too - discovered that ignoring the offender doesn't remove them from activity feed ftl.

I always pay 100k just to do my part to keep folks selling them. But I've been buying off friends so much it's been a couple weeks since i've bought on the ah. they keep getting them by the thousands from their pack purchase merits.
-
Do you really need end reduction on a regular priced aura on an IO'd build, especially one with softcapped nrg defense, energy absorption slotted for end mod and recovery all over the place? Just put the slow in there. Even if you exclusively fight carnies i think you'll be ok.
-
One quick fix would be taking the end reduction out of chilling embrace and putting the 6th superior winter's bite in for another 5% f/c defense. That's about all I can see immediately and I'm not familiar enough with ice melee to really dig in.
-
I think the slow is auto-hit but not certain. Pine's doesn't give any hint, just has accuracy base. I don't remember it missing completely since I've been using it but I'm only 35 on that toon and it's usually shot off while aim and upshot are both active so if it missed it'd have to be from streak breaker with those on top of all my +to hit for auto-snipe. I'm not sure much lives long enough in the patch for it to give full value but I'm slotting for damage anyway with 5 rags (leaving out pure damage) and an annihilation -res proc. If nothing else it's a set mule for even more recharge. Should be good DoTs for hard targets and the slow is win. I'm having fun starting with rain of arrows, then explosive with the kb to kd which hits while the RoA arrows are in flight, then anything that lives is in glue when it stands back up.
-
It's kind of tough to make a stalker that can't solo perfectly well. I'm rather fond of my mid-40s street justice/ice but it was a bit of an endurance hog til i got the refill power. And by a bit i mean even with set IOs from the moment I could start throwing them in and all the endurance management special IOs it was a rough ride. It's great fun now, though.

Just an observation on how cheap this market is.
Mr. Vee replied to Murcielago's topic in The Market
They weren't, but you could get them with hero/villain merits. But they took forever that way. It was 25 h/v merits for a glad armor unique, e.g. So you're looking at one every two days from tip mishes and 10/week from running every signature arc mission if you don't want to spend any inf. An h/v merit could be bought for 50 merits and 20 million every 20 hours to make it a bit faster. But your toon was going to be parked quite a while if you were waiting to purple/pvp it out this way. There was a reason the alignment system barely affected the price of high end items. -
Slotting Strategy for /Rad Armor (Where are the builds?)
Mr. Vee replied to Star Slayer's topic in Scrapper
Here's mine. I approached it like willpower and just went heavy toward hp/regen. I have shadow meld there if I need to take a big alpha but I've mostly just been using it to grab glowies while ghosting and being too lazy to turn off the aura. I've not run a full complement of TFs with it but the hp bar has barely moved on the stuff I've run it on. I've been using the heal more as a regen debuff. Mr. Vee replied to Murcielago's topic in The Market
Some is laziness, but since the market attunes for free there's constant demand even by people used to crafting their own. I'm glad for the lazy though, they're the ones giving me 8 million for LOTG 7.5 when the entire history says 7. -
Yeah i was trying to avoid the dense thread, my eyes glaze 😄 thanks for the summary.
