  1. Bone Smasher (BS) could already stun fairly well and kept getting stuck as 'don't touch' if someone really wanted to use the fast Energy Transfer (fET). I had proposed totally removing the boosted stun when it was in BS. Moving it to Barrage allows it to be skipped and is effectively the same (for all but Tankers). In other news The set is MUCH improved with the cleaned up animation times and freeing up BS. It now is starting to feel a bit like a Utility set where we can pick some aspects or all. If we pick them all it's a lot to manage (maybe just while learning). A la Dark Armour. Where's a blue when you need one? vs Do we really need all those toggles? I am still unconvinced these or similar changes could not have simply been made without the combo mechanic. Playing a Stalker with a busy secondary.. there is potentially just a lot going on. ATO procs, quick Assassins Strike, new 3 tree combo mechanic, plus managing a needy secondary on top of long recharge powers outside EM. Troo had neither Barrage nor Total Focus in the build. Over time I had even dropped Stun because I could get disorient elsewhere in the set (+ the Fear from AS). What's on Beta is a different powerset. It is far from awful.
  2. for clarity, those picture above are likely just my defaults. mapping the buttons to power tray slots and specific functions has worked very well. using the left/right dpad to toggle between powertrays allows for a lot to be controlled without too much craziness. ( I self limit to tray 1 and tray 2 but someone could go wild and do alot in the trays ) once we set it up it can be available for all characters.

  6. Some AoEs got some buffs. So AoE continues to be shown love.
  7. I'm not a fan of the combo mechanics. But I do think it is a clever way to provide 2 AoE attacks where there is only one. And the one is having it's double damage removed. It's definitely a better option than doubling the animation time and endurance cost in order to keep the double damage.

  9. Maybe I'm confused. Wouldn't insta-recharge be nearly the same as double damage, it's just spread over two back to back attacks? That still seems pretty strong for AoE.
  10. I would give two likes if I could. @Naraka@Sovera@siolfir, It looks like similar thoughts posed in slightly different ways. I don't think anyone wants controller type 10+ target AoE stun lock downs. (not happen'n) Pairing with Dark does allow stacking stuns over more targets, one at a time, while doing damage, and likely dropping yummy -tohits all over. Oppressive Gloom + Energy Melee = a very active health bar.

  13. Regen is not an inferior secondary. If it works for a player it can be very effective. If it doesn't work for a player it can be awful. A lot can come down to play style. It is a busy set. There are things to watch or be mindful of and buttons that need to be pushed. Recharge is your friend, Dark is a good pairing. Compared to other sets. They might be able to reach some goals like defense or resistance quicker but they may never be able to match the regen. Meanwhile Regen can also build for those other Def and Resist. Bonus: Regen has been tuned down (nerfed) so much it may be inline for a buff sometime soon.

  15. Good stuff. It's always great when someone finds a build that just works really really well for them. Sure a Tanker in CoX is more than just survival. I'm glad @jackalcoh feels tanky on their stalker. (there will be enemies that challenge you, enjoy the journey!)

  17. @Faultline feeding the junkies what they 'need'. New zone: An easy option could be re-purposing BB. Alternately, since we are talking god like levels.. maybe one of the encounter maps for Rularuu the Ravager at the center of a larger area? I continue to feel folks earned Alpha, it only effects themselves and it does help folks fill out a build BUT it maybe too much of a differentiator from those that don't have it for PVP. ( I still voted #3 )

  20. I am all for increasing the aggro cap IF raising difficulty causes max number of targets for AoE to decrease. (maybe just past +2) I believe this could open the door to the possibility of being overwhelmed. Let chaos ensue.

  23. Alternately, she could help you. If her playing really helped you then maybe that would increase interest initially and then go from there. If the costume generator doesn't get them interested, it may not be for them. (think Steve Jobs and the early Apple computer showing his 'daughter' the paint program and then letting the kid drive)
  24. Did you map the keys after enabling it? (I remember it being a combination of things that needed to be done) I'll double check and document if no one chimes in. (hour and a half maybe) not important info: I LOVE being able to use the wired controller, lets me play in front of a huge big screen TV while sitting in a recliner.
