Losing connection to map server/can't connect to DB
Marine X replied to Caligo Bastet's topic in Help & Support
One thing that might help narrow down the issue would be to create a Character on Reunion. It is in Germany, all the other shards are in Montreal. If you get a solid connection there it will point you toward the culprit. There has been an issue with ISPs that are passed through in the Detroit area causing issues with connections to the servers. If you can find a way ( VPN etc. ) to bypass that, you may find a solution. There is really nothing Homecoming can do to avoid this but some players have been able to work around it. -
I found this to be the case when my Wireless Keyboard pushed up Daisies and I hooked up the keyboard that came with the PC, Same issue with Fly and Superjump.

Losing connection to map server/can't connect to DB
Marine X replied to Caligo Bastet's topic in Help & Support
Most Connection issues are User Side. If you are on a WiFi connection try using a wired connection to your Router or Modem. WiFi can work perfectly for streaming or surfing then fail miserably for CoH, this is due to the game needing very low Latency. I was on at about the time you posted and noticed no game side issues. -
( Marine quietly puts away his Abacas, and prepares to speak.......) I have a about XXVI Characters of which I have VI that are L+ and about as far as I will get them, I have several very close behind. I always get the Incarnates unlocked and slotted with the Alpha to TIV. ( I thought the roman numerals would add an air of sophistication, ahem... ). Badging is something I try to do on every one but there are some I will never have after years of trying. ( mostly the Ski badges, just can't seem to ever complete a run, which is hilarious considering I was a Ski instructor in my youth.) I have limited play time so I am happy with what I've got so far.

Good Find, interesting. CoH has many different reward systems, between Influence, Salvage, Uber Builds, Badge Count, Costumes, and Player notoriety, and population that pursues each of them or all. Many different Carrots, lol.

Was doing the Missions from Janet Kellum: Get the citizens away from the toxic gas Briefing I need you to get over to the Pike's Place neighborhood on the double! I just got word that there's a busted sewer there that's leaking toxic gas into the air. We've used a force field to keep the gas from spreading, but if the residents aren't evacuated immediately, the fumes will kill them! You've got to get those people away from the toxic gas. You only have 90 minutes to deal with the situation.WW Well as I went through the Mission rescuing the 20 citizens from the Crey, it didn't take long to realize something.....they were all the same Woman! 20 of them, Exactly the same. Maybe the Gas caused a Bizarre Transformation of everyone exposed, maybe they are clones, Aliens, maybe members of a low Fashion BFF Dress-Alike Cult or a plot to over populate the planet with cute blonde girls. Anyway, Janet wouldn't even listen to me. It's obviously not normal but she wasn't listening, I even spoke ALL CAPS. Totally went prattling on about Mass Murder and a leaky Sewer Pipe cover story. Then she sent me to rescue Rikti Monkeys! Huh...I think Janet may have had too many cups of Coffee and blew a blood vessel or something, she's a wacko! So I'm starting my own investigation, let me know if you see her, but be careful, she has that sneaky "too cute" menace level about her.

1) FOOD! Another thread that has fallen under the powerful influence of our apparently under fed stomachs. We are consistant in that way at least. 2) I would think a person being powerleveled is more likely to have a Temp Flight ability rather than the actual travel pool, at least I think that would be more telling. 3) Nunya's, huh, I'll have to remember that one. Nice. I could just say I have set bonuses "turned off" by Null the Gull. ( Yes, I know he can't do that. ) 4) More Costume Pieces! just cause I want to get maximum mileage out of a single post, oh and Nerf Regen! More Content! Less Lag!

Does anyone have any Ideas for new Resident Villain or Hero Groups that would fit the Aesthetic of Kallisti Wharf? I really think it would be interesting to Find something that has been developed for AE, a totally Fresh Group or a take on Battalion that could be used since it was intended as a Co-op zone. I still think the lower waterways should be home to higher level Hydra, since they inhabit other sections of the river, but other than that, would rather see something different.

Noticed several times this weekend in missions fighting Devouring Earth that sometimes when I used an attack with Knock down / Knock up that the Critter would never get back up off the ground. They would just stay there on the ground in Ragdoll mode, with sometimes Half or more of their health, as i continued to attack them. One time I actually stopped and stood there and they never got back up even though at half health. Very strange. It happened during multiple missions. This was during the Ginger Yates Story Arc on Warhorse level 38 Tank ( Main account @Marine X ) on Reunion playing Solo.

Good God, never thought about this.... They could be posting to TikTok, Holding Combination Lingerie / Tupperware Parties, Running around buck naked in the base while eating Cheetos, Starting Petitions to be freed from your control, Watching episodes of The Office, Commercial Free, Setting up a Still in the pantry to produce Moonshine, Licking all the stamps in the Postal Supply drawer and sticking them on the walls, Working as an Uber Eats delivery driver, Moonlighting as a CLOWN...oh no. not that. please....

Just stumbled across a video I recorded back on live (hacker)
Marine X replied to Solarverse's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, this would have been before the Atlas Park of then became the Echo: Atlas Park of now. That happened with Issue 21 ( live in September 2011 ), so your video must pre-date that. -
I've always thought " Busy, Busy Bee ", for getting all the badges in the Hive was pretty funny, are you saying I'm obsessed? I like badge hunting in Boomtown and Echo: Dark Astoria, as even if you've done them a bunch of times, they are still a challenge to find, underground ones can be fun even with Vidiot's Maps.

Tuesday gets its name from the Anglo-Saxon's god of war Tiu, also known as Tyr to the Vikings. The Romans named their third day of the week after their god of war, Mars. That is why romantic languages like Spanish, French and Italian all have similar names for Tuesday: martes, mardi, and martedi. Essentially, the Maintenance Crew hate you and want to start a War. Not Really, just kidding, ha ha, uuuhhhh, never mind.....

Exploration marker not registering - 1 toon only
Marine X replied to Mr Shamrock's topic in Bug Reports
Just to be sure, check your Badges and make sure you didn't already have it, or that the location you are at is for a different Badge that you already have. It is easy, especially in the Sewers to get the placement of Badges jumbled. If you don't have the Accolade for getting all the Badges it may be a different one you are missing. -
I've just heard people since I was young always saying stuff like " they just won boo coo bucks on the lottery " or " He must have boo coo bucks to afford that ", for a long time I didn't realize what they were mispronouncing.
-
I can't believe no one has a theory on this......

Whipper snapper Coot Pipsqueak & Anything French that can be horribly mispronounced by Hillbillys: Hors d'oeuvres ( Horse Doovers ) Lingerie ( linger E ) Potpourri ( pot poury ) Beau Coup ( boo coo ) Camouflage ( never mind, THAT one Hillbillys can pronounce )
-
Hopefully find some more, you know....hey..... didn't they say they were going to make it a uniform 8 exploration badges per Zone. Why is there only one in Cimerora? Creeeaaak Snap! Rumble, .....( Hears Midnighter Club Lobby floor give out under the weight of hundreds of badge obsessed heroes )

Also your Homecoming/Tequila Install should be in it's own folder on your hard drive, then a shortcut placed on your desktop. If it is located on the Desktop, Downloads, Documents or Program files, it may get smooshed by Windows permissions or Windows Update.

Lots of people can punch with both hands......BUT.......if you make a Shield Defense Character, the shield is on the left hand, always, hence right handed. Unless there is someway to change that I'm unaware of.
