  1. The only accolades I typically care about are the stat boosting passives and demonic/eye of the magus. The HC staff did what the OP is asking for PvP, as a means to lower the bar for people to engage in PvP. These accolades are not something that is required to play PvE, but are something that is gained along the way as you play your character. Hmmm as I think on this one I think they should be earned individually per character. I'm trying to avoid thinking about doing this myself on around 200 characters since HC started. Rather than use the well I didn't the hard way you should too mindset, I think that there's not really precedent for account wide boosts of this magnitude so therefore I'm not in favor of the request.
  2. I'm not opposed to a badge for something like this, but I don't think people necessarily need incentive to kill surgeons (while not if they want to finish an ITF quicker).
  3. Welcome back. Brutes are Offense/Defense. If you search the forums....there are quite a few threads about rad armor. Some about elec melee. Radiation armor is a layered approach combining resistance and absorb. I wouldn't aim towards building it for defense as it will have no DDR save Ageless radial so any defense can be striped easily. I personally like to build my resistances to make use of cycling meltdown, rune of power, and melee core to cap off my resistances, and then ensure I have 100% resistance to slows/recharge debuffs and aim for building recharge to maximize ground zero and rad therapy. With enough recharge, you'll likely be using Thunderstrike, Lightning Clap (maybe), and Lightning Rod, to keep mobs knocked on their asses. You'll also likely cycle Rad Therapy and Ground Zero with damage procs to have a couple mini nukes to expand on your AoE damage from Thunderstrike and Lightning Rod. I'd probably take both maneuvers and weave as LOTG mules and to slot kismet, shield wall, and reactive defense procs. You'll probably want tactics as well to help hit +4's reliably. For epic/patron there's two main schools of thought: either energy for focused acc, lbe, and physical perfection OR soul for gloom and darkness night. Personally when I build a character I don't often need an extra power like phys perfection (a lot of people like it though, rad armor gives you good Regen/recovery as is) and laser beam eyes is not a lot of damage (but can apply a -res proc although it's fairly unreliable for that because of its recharge). I really like the DPA on Gloom and often pair.that with Arcane Bolt for runners. Darkest Night is a pretty damn good mitigation tool in itself given the -damage and -tohit it applies (not that you need the -tohit, but this also benefits your whole team when used typically for hard targets). For a a rad armor brute I'd look at Musculature Radial, Rebirth Radial for healing/more regen (with a full IO build and accolades you could be damn close to brute HP cap, so that's why I like radial more than core). Melee Core as that's part of your resistance cycle between meltdown and rune of power. Interface, lore, and judgement are dealers choice (although lately I like void for judgement for adding more -damage with darkest night, but it's only useful on advanced difficulty stuff). Sorry for the long post.
  4. I have an elec/kin that didn't have room for speed boost. The goal was soloing GM's and that power didn't do anything for me so since the build was power tight i had to skip it.
  5. Here's a great bind/macro resource made by @Shenanigunnerhttps://www.shenanigunner.com/#TechGuide I've done binds like "/bind shift+[, cce 1 ccDrinkFormula" you can make them as macros as well or even use macro_image if you want to get fancy. It's all in the guide. Best of luck.
  6. I used to use emotes more frequently back circa 2005-2009, often things like kata, batsmash and batsmashreact, Alakazam, etc. Now a days I will occasionally use a CCE if swapping costumes makes sense for the character. I have some that have street clothes but need to suit up, a dr. Jekyll and mr. Hyde situation, or a character that essentially turns into an energy form of themselves that I often tie to the content and difficulty of the challenge I'm facing.
  7. If I'm not coming up with a unique word for a character name and using a compound word or phrase, I require each word to be spelled correctly.
  8. If I can play this game and become fairly proficient with it's nuisances, then you can too. Don't be dissuaded, and stay resolute, unflinching to the mobs that would defeat your lofty goals.
  9. The idea of weight classes is typically handled for things like arena kickball and such as captains draft their teams, but depending on who shows up their might be a rule like 1 empath per team and such. Also in regards to the who has the biggest purse, in my experience, the PvP community often bends over backwards to help each other whether that be sharing PvP builds, power leveling PvP characters, or even help with slotting a character out by tossing them IOs, or influence. In my day we had so much trust between each other that I had log in info for probably a dozen other papers (my own team and then some players that we we're pretty friendly with) where we'd PL someone a whole new PvP character while they were at work and often fully slot it out for them (especially the newer folks who joined our team that weren't sitting on stacks of billions of influence spread out on mule characters). Most organized pvpers really respect what I'd call the "Spirit of the Game" because we don't want to just roll over someone like a Chess Grandmaster playing a year old. We want our opponents to have fun and improve, so we can continue to be challenged so we can continue getting better and having fun. Sure we can't speak for everyone, as yeah there were people being assholes and teleporting players into drones and sometimes outside geometry (which is not cool), but most of the pvpers I knew would not associate with that behavior as it went against that spirit of the game I mentioned. Given that defeat in CoH PvP doesn't really have many drawbacks to defeat, it always surprised me how few people would PvP, but then again I've pvped in every MMO I've played including Eve online (where defeat there can hurt quite a bit). Then again ever since going to Iraq back in 2003/2005 I don't bother with games like COD and such, so I get that everything isn't for everyone.
  10. Some suggestions from my controllers Elec Control/Dark Affinity and Elec/Poison are really fun combos if you like mez and debuffs. They mitigate a ton of damage. Ice/TA or Ice/Poison would work well. Fire/Elec -faraday cage with your imps and hot feet, welcome to the thunder dome. Grav/Storm is an amazing combo that is all about positioning mobs into their death. Plant/Nature works well, but it's hard to pick a bad secondary for plant control. I play a lot of controllers, I think I have maybe 20-25ish at 50, plus a plant/storm and a fire/trick arrow in the leveling hopper currently. I can't think of a controller combo I've payed that I hated to be honest so I have no doubt you'd be able to find a new combo that you enjoy.
  11. I have at this point paired poison with: Rad blast - works well, seems thematic, further debuffs defense Elec blast - works great with poison trap/weaken at sapping targets, short circuit is a great proc power Fire blast - works really well at killing things Elec control - I liked elec blast so much I made it as a troller and it really can shut down a full team worth of NPCs with all the tools at its disposal. Plant control - pretty much same as elec control but more damage, and no sapping. It's hard to go wrong with poison. It's a great set, but aside of playing it on a mastermind, it's meant to be played in melee.
  12. As a retired PvPer and no one of importance, I'd suggest for the greatest shot at getting PvP changes implemented is to: Join the Homecoming PvP discord server : https://discord.com/invite/7URmx7yH) join Homecoming's gold standard testers group and help test proposed PvP changes and report your experience with them back to the devs (here's the link: https://discord.gg/DptUBzh) Find PvP chat channels in-game to join host some of your own events whether kickball, fight club, zone, or whatever (make it fun). If you run your ideas through the PvP community and they gain traction, it's more likely that the HC staff will support what you're suggesting. Lastly, changes aren't quick (unless it's a serious bug that needs addressing), the staff likes to have substantial testing of things that are in the pipeline before they hit production.
  13. Here's the data behind both powers (note artic fog shows the defender values, you can pull up controller, corruptor values as necessary). Artic Fog: https://cod.uberguy.net/html/power.html?power=defender_buff.cold_domination.arctic_fog&at=defender Stealth: https://cod.uberguy.net/html/power.html?power=pool.invisibility.stealth&at=defender As others have stated they do not stack stealth values. Personally I would only take both powers if I was using stealth as a mule for say an LOTG 7.5% recharge IO, as slotting an unbounded leap or celerity stealth IO into say sprint will get you to invis level stealth, while also still providing the team based buffs it gives.
  14. My favorite is probably Teleport, however to really be good with it, I feel it requires either macros or keybinds. Teleport in the hands of someone skilled with it, is the fastest travel power bar none. Fold Space is also a great power for grouping mobs into an AOE to speed up clear times. *That said this topic shouldn't be in help and support, but should be in the general discussion subforum.
  15. Sounds like rad therapy on radiation armor is a significant foil to breaking your regen down because regen doesn't have resistance to regen debuffs. The same way that the elec attacks are hitting your end bar as you don't have resistance to end drain. It's like you're playing rock paper scissors and your opponent is constantly throwing our rock while all you have are scissors. Your best chance would be to move out of melee when you expect them to pop rad therapy or phase shift and then burst them down. Then again I've been retired from PvP for a good while now so maybe those tactics aren't the best options.
  16. I have a ton of experience with corruptors. Based on what the OP suggests playing: fire/kin works fine as does elec/kin. It sounds like you're reasonably familiar with kinetics. I would recommend looking at say ice/cold, ice/ta, ice/dark as well. Rains work well with scourge. TA gets you a world of debuffs and OSA for more damage. Cold gives you sleet, benumb, and heatloss. Dark gives you stacked tarpatches/darkest night.
  17. You might end up eventually ust rolling anything and turn it into the most optimal version.
  18. This seems to be primarily an Everlasting issue. My experience on some of the other servers seems to indicate groups running instanced MSR raids. The would be the best solution for Everlasting as well, because then it wouldn't interfere with people trying to run apex/tin, running mission teams in RWZ, or even role players having a rp session.
  19. I am, lol. I just haven't been active in the game the last couple of weeks. Been pretty busy with work and the 1 year old around the holidays. I suppose I should check the patch notes and discord. Edit: I I just read through the notes. Thanks for asking the question I would have if it wasn't already answered.
  20. I think that's a great idea, but it provokes a question: Does this mean the plan is to have Hami versions of all unique Dsyncs? Or am I just speculating here? Thanks Fault.
  21. Maybe this is just me assuming but you've been here for years, just as I have, and I have difficulty imagining you really need the influence at this point. I could definitely be wrong, perhaps you're not an avid marketeer or don't play at max level for the expanded drop lists and increased influence rate that much, maybe you don't farm. Last time I checked a Microfilament was still trading for more than a Winter IO. I mean the cost of a provocation is definitely outside the reach of your typical player, and most players will likely get them running ASF's. Is there any other reason besides profit margins that you wouldn't want to make this type of enhancement more obtainable to the general player base? Realistically, this post is another theoretical discussion, as the likelihood of new HOs being released is miniscule, so I am more interested in learning the perspective of people that would be opposed to this kind of request (which I would argue would be a QoL improvement for the majority of the player base).
  22. I don't think it would destroy it. Sure it would increase the availability of acc/recharge but given the amount of potential drops off Hami, I see it being equivalent to say a microfilament. If you can't keep in business off that profit margin, you might have to diversify your investment portfolio.
  23. I have used the Cot and Ascension pieces probably too much that I have a self imposed embargo on them for new costumes. The only way past that embargo would be if the character concept didn't work any other way.
  24. They are having an issue right now with outgoing emails. I would imagine once they resolve that you can likely get a password reset email sent.
