  1. It's one of the few powers in the game that you can give DDR to yourself/allies and that value is enhanceable. I would definitely slot it, but maybe that's just me.
  2. Ice armor/ice melee tanker would definitely have more survivability than a blaster. You can roll play as an anthropomorphic ice cream sundae.
  3. I get the multi VEAT builds as I play my FortNight with 3 builds and my SpiderBane with 3 builds as well. I'll use macros to hotswap builds on demand during missions as well. As anyone can use three builds as is and swapping them blows all your global cool downs, and each build requires using a whole additional set of enhancements I don't see this request as power creep and don't have an issue with a 4th build slot. That said I don't see how much adoption it would actually have, because in practice a lot of people seem generally confused when I'm on my window swapping between night widow attacks and psi blasts during the same mission (I try to time my CDs before build swapping).
  4. You got the right forum. I don't know if you have experience with Bio Armor on any other AT, but similar concept. The idea is a layered approach. They typically build for recharge through IO slotting as ablative, rebuild DNA, and parasitic leech all make heavy use of recharge slotting. Otherwise you could also works towards building defenses as well to help mitigate the incoming dps. Early/mid game you'll use adaptation as necessary, but once you get enough slots/and IOs you'll likely set it to offensive and forget it. Beam rifle takes a little getting used but it can pack a wallop and works with meshes with the sentinel's vulnerability mechanic as well.
  5. The drawback is that some people like the knockback and use that as mitigation requiring mobs to take time to get back into melee range. The solution based on the previous replies might be conducive to having a knockback IO converted into a proc that inverses the repel? That said there's a lot of people that would be against the change as they'll cite a preconceived expectation for them to have that IO slotted in such a fashion by their teammates, or view it as an slot tax, or even power creep. I know that because I have raised the question regarding hurricane previously a couple years ago.
  6. If there's no one around I'll solo the monster as I agree with @Krimsonit's somewhat funto do so. Otherwise I might pop by if someone announces it in LFG or such as I assume they need help to kill it or they wouldn't be asking. I usually don't need the merits as I usually have a stack of a few thousand on standby, but figure I might as well be helpful to someone else every once in awhile.
  7. Well you could make a build in mids without hasten to give you an idea. I wouldn't plan on building requiring FF procs, those are an added bonus when they do happen. Domination lasts 90 seconds, recharges in 200, so you have a 110 second window to cover via global recharge buffs. You'll get that perma way before perma PA as PA lasts 60 seconds and recharges in 240 seconds. Check this link for info on the recharge formula: https://archive.paragonwiki.com/wiki/Recharge Why are you skipping hasten on an AT that's typically relies on recharge? Without hasten's 70% I don't think you'll be able to get perma PA. You could probably get perma Dom though.
  8. If you want to exempt, I would have Dwarf form as soon as you can at a minimum, just because it can be used while mezzed and has mez protection while in the form, so if you get stunned/held etc, you can use that to try and break the mez and still fight/heal/taunt mobs to you. If you are only going to be running late game clarion can be a godsend.
  9. I have characters here (mainly on Everlasting because I happened to be watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory when the server went up having previously migrated from Torchbearer and Bria, etc.), I also have accounts on rebirth, and thunderspy as I wanted to check out their work. I also have my own private server as well that I've tinkered with my own changes every once in awhile.
  10. Week 4: we're back again and it seems natural transition into discussing the alignment system following our discussion of Praetoria. What alignment do you find yourself playing usually? Why? What content is a must run as a hero, vigilante, rogue, or villain? What do you think about tip/morality missions? What about Null the Gull? How would you handle the alignment differently?
  11. You can do some repeatable mission contacts, which is basically like radios, do the SBB in pocket D, or AE content. There's a wealth of AE content that isn't actually farms that can keep you entertained, but keeping a character as a praetorian can limit your options.
  12. There's been some great conversation about Praetoria this round. Personally I enjoy the branching choices, difficulty of the NPCs, and overall design. I've taken two characters from 1-50 goldside, my most recent was an elec/ice tanker, otherwise I've taken several others through the rift once they had the option. If I could redesign a bit, I'd want to stretch the contacts XP range so people don't out level contacts just running the story arcs, allow for some further story arcs after you take the rift to primal earth to maybe bring back a strike force to put down the resistance or fight the power and try to strike a blow to Emperor Cole's rule. I also like the idea of gold side TFs and being able to access Ouroboros.
  13. There's already a level 40 booster in the game. Turn on the 2xp booster from P2W, and play with that on until you get to lvl 40. then remove the 2xp booster. You've now boosted your character to lvl 40. And its free at the P2W, so that will save you 100 mil influence.
  14. In this week's official unofficial player led discussion we head over to a land budding with potential, Praetoria. What has your experience been with gold side? Do you prefer resistance or loyalist? What do you think of the storyline? What ideas would you have to expand Goldside content to lvl 50? What about gold side Expeditionary (maybe not the best name the equivalent of task/strike forces) Forces? Praetor Power Pool arcs at lvl 35 similar to villain patron pool unlocks? Fight a super Hamidon? Fight primal invaders? Now's your chance to delve into Praetoria, have fun with it...
  15. That is weird. I took a praetorian tank from 1-50 goldside during the summer and never encountered what your describing. The nature of your bug only pointing to Lars is peculiar as well. Could be a bug related to page 4 or 5. I wonder if you boot up a praetorian on brainstorm and advance it to your level of it introduces Lars, or if the triggering catalyst was something else?
  16. I guess the joke was lost on you as you focused only on the first half of my sentence and not the part about that requiring a player to achieve lvl 59. TC/GN
  17. While once you get to my level, any new toon you roll automatically starts at lvl 50, but they made it so it's difficult to get to lvl 59 as a player anymore. Last time I checked I was the only one that's done it. Realistically I wasn't against to how it was getting a lvl 50 in 90 minutes like how it was back in 2019. It's part of the reason I have somewhere around 150 lvl 50s. Given the changes though the that have been implemented against farming since then, often against the languished outcries of numerous threads, I don't see this getting adopted. That said I don't have much issue against farming aside from people not knowing how to play their toons, and fact I don't like people begging to be power leveled by strangers in lfg/the farmers that feed the wild animals in the first place. That said there's many people that farm alts that are better out of the box with those powersets than people that main them. It goes back to the argument about the driver being more important than the car.
  18. As Astralock stated, the whole concept of it is to avoid someone nuking your anchor eliminating the usefulness of your debuff while there are still mobs to mop up. Otherwise how it was on live, someone could actually grief you a bit by focusing your anchor rather than the rest of the mob first.
  19. Are you using main/splash debuffing? You can stack the main effects of envenom/weaken on your main target with splash effects of those debuffs if the target is within the 8-foot range. Requires switching targets during the fight but it can help debuff, while pairing with venomous gas (which I would take a visit to the p2w vendor for any buffs to help your mez protection you can get, otherwise I suggest clarion for your destiny). Can you share a screenshot of your slotting? I'm guessing you're just adding pieces as you get them. I have three poison toons fully built out and they can become game changers for teams, they are a bit of late bloomers, but with IOs I've done a solo Master ITF with my poison/rad defender. Otherwise my fire/poison corruptor levels things and can neuter their defense, res, damage, tohit, etc.
  20. I also do not use Soul Extraction as a mule for pet IOs. I crank up the recharge and add in some damage (although I wish I had more slots). MM IOs, Pet IOs, and RI Pet IOs each have weaker 5-6 slot bonuses IMO making it easier to mix and match the unique procs and fit them all in reasonably well without having to sacrifice too much for it.
  21. You gotta realize before IOs we were all defenseless blasters. Having mobility and understanding the content you're facing and having high situational awareness can set you apart from others. I still occasionally get asked why I move so much while playing PvE, and I tell people it's a holdover from being a PvPer and while there's truth to that. If I reposition to let a tank absorb agro, or avoid NPCs heavy melee attacks or things like Night widow's Blind or other mobs specialties. I'm able to keep on keeping on. With that mindset/skillset you can play a blaster without needing softcapped defense and hardly ever die.
  22. As a long time player since CoH's Beta, the capes/aura mishes we're something we looked forward to once they were released, but it's just cosmetic so I prefer to how they are unlocked from the start. In reference to Ruda's point, imagine Spawn without K7-Leetha. The character would be fundamentally different without his cape. Same is true with Batman or Superman. Those capes are iconic.
  23. I think for me it's all about the chase. I have a ton of characters that are well built lvl 50's that haven't been logged in for over a year. When I'm building the toon and testing it out they are all fun, but they kinda get shelved eventually, when I get a new idea for a toon. That said I'm at the point I've been running out of ideas I want to try, so who knows maybe eventually when I completely run out of toon ideas I'll put all my characters in a death match and the winner will become my "main".
  24. Personally I don't think we need an auto defense accolade since we have Archimage/demonic as is, but I'm with you in that of there was one it should be difficult to get.
