  1. Maybe I'm a bit old school and I totally understand that life has other requirements on our time then play CoH as I work full time and often have to stay late and remote in afterhours (wish I got paid for that but salary so I'm S.O.L. there), help out with requests from aging parents that live in my city and am on a daily basis trying my best to figure out how to take care of my 6 week old daughter, and support my wife. So yeah it's nice to be able to find time to play a game. I try to not take it for granted, especially since this game was gone for many people for 7 years. That all said, hell I have 150 or so lvl 50s that are incarnates and IO'd, it's extremely easy to level up in the game, and sure I struck while the iron was hot and farmed a ton. I still invested my time to be able to have the choices of tons of characters to play from. A 1 for 1 lvl 50 exchange is kinda a slap in the face to someone that put in the effort to have access to a lot of characters at lvl 50. So if a token exchange for a fresh minted lvl 50 we're ever a thing I'd want there to be a cost to it, that's why I think a 2 for 1 exchange rate is a reasonable price. That said I personally don't even want a token to get an instant lvl 50. If you want to play a lvl 50 you didn't earn or at least sacrifice for, there's Brainstorm, or you can play it in PvP as a Temporal Warrior, but the production servers for PvE don't need to be the wild west.
  2. I think the general idea here is reasonable, but there should be a cost of 2 lvl 50 characters to create 1 lvl 50 token, that way the player has to actually think about how bad they want that instant lvl 50, and if the juice is worth the squeeze.
  3. Absolutely love that you put it Compulsive Disorder, Obsessive in alphabetical order.
  4. I also have a spreadsheet as well. The Necro/dark mm I made however was inspired from a forum post I read with the proposed Necro changes for page 5 while I was drinking a few beers while getting distracted with diaper changes and all that so I failed to boot up my spreadsheet. Oh well I guess I can now dual box both of them and have an undead horde with stacked tar patches and darkest nights and stacked howling twilight Regen debuffs for monster crunching under the weight of my undead horde.
  5. Tornado is a set defining must have, that when slotted with say an overwhelming force proc keeps mobs knocked down in it's path to better apply it's DPS. It's literally par for the course for a stormer, and to skip the power is not advisable.
  6. Best advice I can offer is to make one of each on brainstorm and test their damage out on the same criteria and decide which one you like better. Or just build both on the production servers because why not both water blast and electrical blast are fun sets.
  7. Folks, the thread seems to be spiraling from it's actual topic. I don't remember Halloween elite bosses in hard mode ITF and ASF runs as of the last run I had on a 4 star on Sunday so i Let's try to keep some structure and civility, because like it or not at the end of the day it's probably a better idea to break bread with each other than break each other down.
  8. Made a Ninja/FF to test both ninja and force field. Spent some time playing around with it. Dampening Field is useful, but I wish it either had it's recharge reduced to match Faraday Cage so it can be used as the team moves easier or reverted to a toggle like the old Force Bubble. I still think we need something on Deflection and Insulation shields, like another 20% DDR split between the two powers. Personal Force Field should still be worked to allow the player to attack, whether that means halving the +Def/Res then so be it. Good work on Dispersion bubble, it helps when teammates zip in and out for a recharge. Repulsion Bomb is interesting but if it's stick is going to be knockdown and -res, can we get say -30% at least Defender numbers as the resistance procs are all at 20% and it feels weird to have an IO proc stronger than the power. I think Detention Field should have a new PvE effect and the current cage effect remain for PvP. Perhaps the PvE effect would suffocate it's target for 30 seconds and have an immobilize and a building -defense/-regen effect on the target over the duration, but allow target to attack and be attacked. That way people wouldn't complain about it being used in PvE but it retains it's usefulness in PvP. Good start on FF.
  9. I assume this is a joke. Back on Live before the PPM mechanic change in procs Dm/Regen Buzzsaw builds were all the rage. DM gives -thb to mobs which helps allow you to not get hit giving you more time for your Regen to kick in. That said is it the best pairing today probably not, but it still works.
  10. It was done for costume contest and role playing.
  11. For Dominators I've done various +4 solo tfs on a dark/thorns, a mind/martial, an ice/ice, a fire/energy, and most recently with a symphony/dark. Controllers can be built to do similar feats, of note I use a plant/trick arrow, dark/rad, illusion/dark, and elec/cold. If you want to solo task forces you need to do a few things: Understand the content your facing, and make a build to counter that. Don't be discouraged if it takes a few attempts, use Brainstorm to practice if necessary. Really know your character, and powers. You can't just go in blind and start clicking powers, you'll want to know how your powers work, what types of mobs they are strong against and weak against. As some other forums regulars will tell you, it's not always about the car, but more so who's driving it that matters. That said the only change I thing controllers and dominators could use is I still think a base recharge of 240 seconds on AoE holds is ridiculous when there's several blaster secondaries that have AoE holds with a mag 3 effect on a 90 second base recharge. That's my hill to die on with the two AT's.
  12. An off topic aside: Having rent control measures is generally a good thing. It pairs well with a Crime Free Multifamily program (which was originally developed in Mesa, Arizona), that helps establish a relationship between renter, landlord, and municipality which usually gives the renters greater protections, ensures the landlords have good tenants, and reduces crime rates in multifamily residential zoning clusters. But yes, I was kidding a bit on the addendum, as if you do the math, the market price on the AH would be similar to where its at now if not higher. At least its not live pricing where we would drop 8-12 billion influence a toon.
  13. I have a rad/dm tank and a dm/bio brute that both are fun pairings for dark melee. I could see a dm/energy armor scrapper working well.
  14. I'll see your 90 day return policy and do ya one more.... Price gouging policy: implementation of AH code that limits listing an item for sale above 25% increase over it's 3 year average price on the AH. The 3 year mark will roll as years past, but this is an inflation control measure to maintain homeostasis of the market economy while still allowing marketeers the ability to fluctuate pricing based on market trends.
  15. So Halloween I thought it'd be fun to have a Necromancy Dark MM. I've always wanted one, and have seen a couple decent enough builds for them. I figure I'll trick or treat with it, and lvl from 1-46 over a few hours trick or treating. I log off to take a break and eat, and when I had some time I boot up mids to make a build, only to find i already have a Necro Dark MM build in my character vault folder where I keep my own builds. I'm like hmmm when the hell did I make this. Then I scrolled through my character cadre and found a lvl 50 Necro/dark mm but a different one than the one I was leveling. I boot it up and it's got the build slotted, a backstory.txt which was in my character vault along with a costume file. So TLDR....I somehow made a toon, got it to 50, unlocked incarnate slots, made a build for it, slotted that build, saved the costume, and saved the backstory. This ever happen to any of you?
  16. The Statesman TF aka The Miss Liberty TF shall hence be the Back Alley Brawler TF. Babs moves out to IP to fish more.
  17. Rad blast works great with poison. Irradiate and atomic blast is pbaoe, neutron bomb taoe (works in melee range), it's attacks offer -defense which stack with the -def of envenom, weaken, and venomous gas and further the attacks can slot all 3 -res procs among other procs too. I have one that solos Rommy +4 regular ITFs reasonably well.
  18. Needs a random spawning Leprechaun to appear in a zone that has 1 HP, killing it drops a bag of gold including a chance for incarnate salvage or prismatic aether's. The zone it spawns in gets a rainbow in the sky to let you know to hunt for it there, and the rainbow despawns when the Leprechaun has been caught. Leprechaun respawns in a random zone every 10 minutes.
  19. That seems to be fairly common my experience as I saw similar collusion on private servers where I served as a GM for in Lineage 2 and WoW. Mind you it varies based on server policy but I'm just glad this hasn't turned into the wild west where people with elevated rights spawn a Hamidon on top of the Atlas globe in AP and make it rain Hamidon Buds, turn up the xp gains to 1000x and make each kill give a crafted IO.
  20. This seems like a false memory regarding CoH. Mind you there are tons of games where things take more damage at the center of a blast.
  21. They reverted the increased recharge time to burn. The real thing though that will affect a lot of maps and AE critters is the proposed changes have fire sword attacks doing -defense now, and a lot of farm maps have critters that attack with fire swords which will drop your fire resistance to negative really fast considering there's no DDR. This will cause AE maps to have to adjust to other attack types. That said the change to irradiated ground was bound to come has it had been unintentionally double procing for years.
  22. In PvP we would use say hide, superspeed, and a stealth io for stalkers or stealth, superspeed, and stealth io all for stacking stealth magnitude to reduce the range at which we'd be perceived. This has been the standard ever since the stealth io came out and prior to that everyone would stack superspeed with whatever stealth power that gave them the highest mag for stealth. In PvE it's done that way to help get by some NPCs with increased perception. As Infiltration is a travel power that has a built in stealth effect I would agree that seems reasonable to pull that power out of the exclusive list as well then. I've never actually tried out infiltration however, so I'll have to give it a whirl.
  23. Didn't see a focused feedback place for this, but it's related...Burn didn't get the recharge speed reverted for Blaster's Fire Manipulation. Hopefully that's an oversight, and being addressed.
  24. I think the best solution would be to remove superspeed from the list of exclusivity as it has always stacked since the game release back in 2004 with stealth. Otherwise this is a good change as it will help powerset combos like Illusion/DM controllers using superior invis for self benefit and able to run shadow fall to stealth team.
  25. There may or may not be a joke in the script about Wolverine trying to wear his Yellow and Blue suit, but Deadpool washed it for him and then put it in the dryer on high heat and it shrunk so he has to wear something else. Wolverine gets mad and cuts Deadpool's dryer in half. I wouldn't know for sure as I may or may not be....
