  1. Croatoa, First Ward, Night Ward are all great for magic characters. Even Cimerora/Ouroboros can work.

Reading this thread got me to roll my third electric control toon on HC, I liked where @Carnifax's head was at pairing with poison, as it's one of my favorite debuff sets (despite it could use a pass in regards to splash AoE size, and alternate animations). IM pretty experienced with both sets, but thought the pairing would work well together, as I'm thinking of some build ideas with plans to cycle clarion radial and melee radial for mez protection while leaning into the end sapping and various debuffs of poison (-def, -tohit, -regen, -recov, -damage, and -special).
  3. I'd find a way to proc slot the hell out of jolting chain at the very least as the chains can proc, and that will help your DPS.

  5. This week's discussion deals with Pets, particularly ones that have an effect on combat. What is/are your favorite pets to use in the game? Why? Are there any you don't like? Why? If the pet is available to multiple ATs do you prefer it better on one AT over the other? When rolling an AT that is traditionally known for there pets, have you purposely chose not to take a or the pet(s) available to you? How did it work out? What about incarnate lore pets? Which of those do you find yourself picking and why? Are there any you haven't tried at this point? Lastly what are your thoughts on level shifts for pets, especially masterminds' pets?

  8. That was my thought exactly, especially as I had seen this post yesterday as I was perusing the forums. Only difference was mine was posi 1 as opposed to synapse.
  9. @Snarky its all good I quit a Posi 1 today. When the leader was recruiting I sent a tell asking what difficulty and if he was open to speeding it. He replied "+0 and yeah sure that's fine". I joined, and after went to grab a beer. Once they started, they saw my set bonuses (invuln/kat tanker) and discussed that I'm fully IO'd in team chat and that they were sure I could handle at least +2, and they all agreed in team chat then proceeded to talk about someone's cat. When I got back they started up, and I plowed through the objectives for the 1st 2 missions, and noticed on the 3rd mission its now +4 and most the team was dying, and wondering why I was rushing ahead completing the objectives as it was "lowering their xp just completing the missions and not killing everything". I said "Merry Christmas" and dropped team immediately, only to solo the tf myself.
  10. Oh I'm sure CoX won't get any noticable improvement as I get on average about 200 fps on max settings with the existing system. There's a few games like Cyberpunk 2077 that use some heavy ray tracing, and although it works with the 2070 I can't run it on max settings. I don't know maybe I wait on the 40 series.

  12. Hey I'm looking at replacing a laptop, so contemplating which GPU to go with. Anyone have either a Nvidia 3070, 3070 ti, or 3080 for a laptop? If so how do you find them? Upgrading from a Nvidia 2070 Super. Thanks.

  14. I miss when Regen was epic. Like being solo in the hami bowl killing mitos epic. But alas I'd like to see it at least somewhere in-between where it is and where it initially was.
  15. Psi/energy blaster with hover will have longest range in the game as their blast powers have a 100' range instead of 80' and you can use boost range from your secondary. Basically you can kill things as soon as they render on the screen from max range.
  16. No they weren't, but people learned tactics/strategy from them, and with the development of IO's and set bonuses, its possible for a single character that's well built to literally carry a team through them, even at +4, so that's likely why you see teams steamroll them.

Like several of you I really like the zone wide story arcs where each successive contact in the zone builds off the last one, so the Hollows, Striga, Croatoa, RWZ, Nightward (hard to not like this one especially with the finale's nods to Ghostbusters), and Dark Astoria. Otherwise I really like Mr. G's stuff, and Ghost Widow's patron arc through all the chapters.

  19. I usually don't get a bubble, but then again it's not that I don't know about them, it's that I like the extra HP debuff as I make IO builds for all my toons. You're probably right about people not checking on the reactors hp/using coolant belts. @JasperStonea cheesy way to cheese win the trial. In the reactor room the waves of spawns were scripted to only appear of the last spawn has been killed, so people used to leave 1 minion alive and just wait the hidden timer (20 minutes iirc) to win the trial. I'm unaware of it ever being patched to change the way the waves spawn in.

  22. I'm in this boat too, depending on team composition, I love Ageless Radial for the DDR since a lot of players build for defense anyways and can't really get any DDR. Clarion I take on almost every toon I make that takes powerboost just to take the radial variety and double up the special, especially for things like forcefields, fade, farsight, or debuffs.
  23. As an alternative you could roll Street Justice as it still has some crunchy powers. Rage is just replaced with a combo mechanic.
  24. My daughter fell asleep and I'm on paternity leave currently, so I had a free moment to take a look at your build, and made a few minor tweaks but tried to keep it to what you were building. I did however swap out the patron to soul as I'm a sucker for Darkest Night on a tank as its basically extra defense, and reduces enemy incoming damage by 30%. Its not exactly the way I would necessarily build it if it were my own toon, but its overall pretty solid.   25. Do you have any specific goals for what you're looking for regarding invuln? Perma Dull Pain/Capped HP? Maximized typed defenses? Unstoppable or not? Particular power needs? Do you need it for any particular content or just generally resilient?
