  1. I wish Liquify had a shorter base recharge, otherwise I can reasonably live with Sonic Resonance.
  2. My elec/bio stalker is fun as well. I've solo'd down to Synapse's Clockwork King with it.
  3. If your laptop has both a discrete gpu and an integrated GPU then check the following: make sure the discrete gpu is being used by the game, the laptop isn't set to some conserve the battery by throttling the GPU, or make sure your discrete gpu driver is installed correctly/up to date.
  4. I have a celerity stealth IO slotted into 117 toons. I just unslotted one and reslotted it. So yeah as Bopper pointed out those two scenarios are the likely culprit.
  5. You're supposed to be off today. Go home, you're drunk.
  6. I heard he was really mad after he hit Vet Level 99,999 and the next one rolled him back to Vet Level 1 so he has to work his level back up. Last time I checked in he's up to 14,000 something again. Luckily enough he got merits again for the first 100 vet levels.
  7. Kheldians have a 85% resistance hard cap, whereas Tankers and Brutes can get an extra 5% above that. You have a self heal/taunt, your dps is a little lethargic but you can proc that out and you can build your io set bonuses to get most your resistances reasonably high or add in extra defense for a more layered approach. So there's options. On a traditional tanker/brute you'll have access to more powers, pools, and app/patron powers whereas on a Kheldian you can't access them while shape shifted, but you can use macros for quick form swaps to carry over things like Essence Boost, Hasten, etc into the form. I'd build it out for Perma light form and carry that over as well, just be aware that when light form crashes it's a 50% HP hit. Arguably the biggest glaring issue with Kheldian tanking is there's no damage auras that are fairly common on tankers and brutes.
  8. Checked combat log while standing in Mud Pots: chance to hit and rolled a 5.57. Shadow Simulacrum hits you with their Stone Fist for 118.36 points of Smashing damage. Shadow Simulacrum Stuns you with their Stone Fist. Shadow Simulacrum hits you with their Mud Pots for 21.3 points of Fire damage. You activated the Assassin's Smash power. Shadow Simulacrum MISSES! Hurl Boulder pow....
  9. Stalker shadow clones with Stone Armor somehow have Mud Pots. Looks like they are emulating old school stone armor rather than the stone armor set from the stalker. Here's a screenshot to show you what I mean.
  10. Chess is balanced, however skill determines the outcome. That said I've never see an MMO perfectly balanced, although some achieve a semblance of balance on at least on an apples to apples approach as opposed to an apples to oranges approach.
  11. You have a valid point there. I am a min-maxer as well, I get a certain satisfaction competing with a player using an overpowered character while using a "commonly believed to be under powered" character and getting that "whoa" reaction. Case in point out damaging several pug blasters while using my plants/trick arrow controller. I've literally been sent tells by a team leader who must of been friends with the pug blaster, asking if I'd slow down as the blaster wants a chance to kill things too. If everything is perfectly balanced you end up with essentially flipping a coin and other than any masochistic statisticians who gets enjoyment out of continual coin flipping?
  12. Regen rule of thumb imo, max HP, build recharge for all your click based abilities, secondary focus defense to help mitigate incoming attacks. The recharge plays into the strength of a quick recharging nuke and allows you to keep a solid attack chain will the minimal individual recharge consideration allowing you to more freely proc attacks.
  13. I also have globals unrelated to my forum name so the two don't necessarily get linked, a few people have deduced the correlation though over the last couple of years. I come at the game as someone from the original CoH Beta back in the spring of 2004, as such I've had just shy of 500 lvl 50s since the level cap was raised to 50, and I've played every powerset in the game (aside of the new seismic blaster ones) to 50 and beyond, so I use that knowledge to help random pugs needing build advice quite often. Because I've had so many 50's it's hard to say I have a main. I used to have a PvP main as an emp defender when I was on a hardcore PvP ladder team during live but that was years ago. I think playing without a main gives you a broader understanding of what strengths and weaknesses a potential player on a team brings with them so it's valuable knowledge for at the new harder difficulty levels.
  14. Technically hasten improves every at/build to a degree, but some builds have enough recharge built-in that adding more becomes more inconsequential where adding defense or hp, or mitigating Debuff resistance holes can be more beneficial. Case in point reconstruction. Click based heal benefits from recharge, but if the target is slowed having some slow resistance could mathematically cause you to get more bang for your buck.
  15. As someone that doesn't actually have a main, just a high level of playing standard and my weird nuisances about optimization, my identity has been guessed by groups of ppl based on how I play various characters. So people can get to know who you are based on that, although it takes time and intuitive people. That said discord helps tremendously.
  16. I have a night widow, fort, and support oriented blood widow using 3 IO'd builds that I hotswap on the fly using macros. The small price to pay is burning your cool downs when swapping so you have to time your big CDs. Very rewarding way too play a widow. I've often had pugs send me tells asks ng how I was using fort only powers and night widow only powers in the same map.
  17. I actually like knockback, and appreciate more so when it's used in a fashion that is conducive to my desire for speed and efficiency. That said I've long thought that KB should do bonus impact damage for a target getting forcibly flung into a wall or off a cliff or hard into the ground.
  18. Probably worth mentioning that there are agro limits per toon, which you can look up as homework, so if your team is engaging too many mobs at once, excess agro will spill from your tank/or whatever toon is holding agro (yes you can build a toon to tank with say a defender/mm/or even a blaster with enough IO investment). Also taunt has targeting limits, so no matter whether a tank is using taunt or punchvoke to gain agro, it takes some time to establish agro, so yjust because a tank is there doesn't mean it's the enemies' automatic primary.
  19. Envenomed daggers is a P2W temp power that is commonly used for breaking the Regen of EB/AV/Monsters in the game by a lot of the player base. Dos = DPS. My keyboard kept thinking I was replying in Spanish for some reason and auto corrected, thinking I was talking about the number 2.
  20. Definitely like the old days when I used to dumpster farm 400 freaks or wolves at a time with my FA/IM Tanker burn with no max target caps while everything was flopping on the ground in the fire was epic and dare I say: Overpowered. Burn in it's current form especially with burn fear that players need to keep agro on with target caps is not overpowered at all.
  21. Just remember that Warshades are designed around density. When you run out of cannon fodder you'll get cracks in your max resistance as eclipse doesn't hit enough targets, you'll lose out on dos as you'll have less pets & less bodies to explode, and you'll heal less. Because of that hard single targets are the toughest for a warshade. As for Ms. Liberty, what level was she conning to you? -1, even, +4? Were you using envenomed daggers (Warshades don't have native -Regen)? Were you being mobile and slowing her dos down by making her reposition herself or were you just standing there getting hit?
  22. A stalker is a scrapper that's better. You have huge burst, can control your crits, great survivability, can stealth missions, so if you have an extra power you can take teleport target and be a taxi cab for your team as well.
  23. As someone partly responsible for the teleport prompt, as we'd teleport teammates/enemies into alphas, off of cliffs, into fire hazards etc. this sounds like fun.
  24. I have a sonic/elec Blapper that shaves off resistance and then smashes with electricity to the face.
