  1. I think some of you guys are missing the forest for the trees. The point is not to solve end problems for all characters, it's to make Recovery set bonuses worth having. Right now you could replace every Recovery set bonus in the game with absolutely nothing and 90% or more of players would not notice the difference.
  2. Confused Sappers don’t do crap. They’re even-level with the mobs around them, so they don’t have the accuracy advantage being higher-level brings and miss a lot. And on even-level targets they aren’t strong enough to drain the blue bar in one go, and an NPC with 1/2 a blue bar might as well have a full blue bar.
  3. I’m gonna dump on everyone’s parade and point out that the majority of signature characters could not grant patron powers like the Arachnos patrons. Ghost Widow and Scirocco both teach you specific kinds of magic, Mako shares with you power from a godlike entity that he also draws power from, and Black Scorpion just hands over pieces of Arachnos technology you can use. There’s no way for, say, Synapse to somehow share with another character the Crey experiments that gave him his powers, or Positron the mutation that powers his armor. I’m certainly down for adding more APPs (it’s one of my biggest wants for the game, in fact), but in a generic way that doesn’t tie into the lore, same as the normal epic pools. There is one major potential patron pool I would love to see, however: the IDF and Praetorian Police powers. It basically has everything you need for a good Patron pool: unique looks, lore behind it, and a wide variety of powers to fit the different ATs’ needs from APPs.
  4. Recluse’s powers are weird, yeah. He has the powers of Tartarus, but what this does for him is unclear. He avoids using his power because he doesn’t want to lose himself to the Well, so most of what he does is Arachnos technology. I believe his electric uppercut attack is the only power we see him use that actually uses his incarnate power.
  5. Careful, your melee AT preference is showing! For characters without mez protection, there’s two enemy types in Malta alone more dangerous than Sappers (four if you consider the boss and lieutenant rank versions separate). Gunslingers have holds and huge +ToHit buffs, meaning those holds are going to land. You could maybe survive against a Lt. Gunslinger long enough for the hold to wear off on its own, but against a boss Gunslinger you are dead unless you have Break Frees. And Operations Officers have Stun Grenades, AoE stuns that last literally absurd lengths of time. The lieutenant’s version lasts an already ridiculous 20-30 seconds, but the boss version can stun you for upwards of a full minute. You could literally use a Break Free and go back to being stunned once that wears off.
  6. I don't think Malta Sappers even crack the top 5 of the enemies that annoy me most. Ever since they changed it so jetpacks only show their glow when you're flying, they've been harder to spot in a mob, and I'd like to see that reverted for them so they're easier to spot, but seeing as how they have no mez protection, tohit buffs, or defense debuffs, I don't think they're dangerous enough to warrant a change.
  7. It does indeed include endurance.
  8. Oh yeah.
  9. Not for Scrapper Spin, it recharges in 9.2 seconds.
  10. What's that going to do for sets like Fire Blast, Archery, and Energy Blast?
  11. Yeah, I wish I could have all the Nature Affinity vines and such appear on my character permanently, too.
  12. I agree with you there. I came up with a potential reward for the trial, but it's probably much too late to implement for this year:
  13. There's two reasons I always advocate for Revive to be the T1. The first is the practical reason, which was covered here; it gives you Revive at the levels you'll probably need it most. Putting it at T2 covers that. But the second is thematic. Think of any fictional character with superhuman regeneration. Wolverine, Deadpool, Vamp from Metal Gear Solid, The Spirit from Frank Miller's 2008 magnum opus of the same name, they all have the ability to come back from wounds that should kill a normal human. That is Revive, not Reconstruction. It's a hugely thematic ability, and every Regen character should be able to do it. Sure, Stalkers and maybe some day Tankers would be able to skip it, but a Revive in every Regen character's toolkit is something that just makes too much sense. I'm also definitely in favor of reducing its recharge.
  14. How would that even work? Endgame content that doesn't make you stronger isn't really endgame content, it wouldn't be any different from any regular missions you can run at 50.
  15. 1 SO worth of Accuracy? That’s not nearly enough. Do you run Tactics at least?
  16. The Blaster absorb helps more than you’d expect. For example, some testing I did revealed that lava hazards in missions will kill a typical Blaster in around 30 seconds, but with an unslotted absorb toggle on it takes twice as long for the lava to kill you.
  17. *shrug* Lots of T1 secondary powers are of marginal use beyond being set mules in completed builds, and that includes Regen’s current T1.
  18. I think the T1 Power should be Revive/whatever Revive gets turned into, so you actually get the self-rez at the point of the game where you’re actually likely to be getting defeated, rather than at the point where your build is starting to mature.
  19. They certainly do not, the auction house will give you an enhancement of whatever level/attunement you want, regardless of what level or attunement the player selling you the IO put in in the auction house with.
  20. Selling unattuned enhancements on the market and buying the attuned versions is how you attune enhancements without slotting them first.
  21. The Claws rabbit hole goes even deeper than that! That's the Brute and Tanker version of Spin you're looking at, the Scrapper version is likely even more out of line. And have a look at Shockwave some time, then compare it to attacks like Howl or Energy Torrent from actual ranged attack sets.
  22. I figured it out, it's happening on any hero file where one of my unused power pools has the legacy Fitness pool selected. I think that was still around in old Mids for spaghetti reasons, but I guess that's been figured out for Reborn?
  23. Actually, if you look at the damage formulas, AoE attacks suck. Powers that follow the rules, like Explosive Blast, or Whirling Hands, players hate them. The best AoE attacks all break the rules.
  24. I've been leveling a Controller lately, and as you know, Controllers don't get a whole lot of attacks. A few weeks ago, the Renault SF was the WST, and I thought, "Hey, you get a temp power for running that SF, I think I'll run it! Hope I get the Coral Hammer." And you know what? I did. And I F***ING LOVE IT. Look at this glorious son of a bitch! This thing lasts for 72 hours of in-game, which is a long time, but some day we'll have to part, and I hate that. I'd love to be able to get this power on a permanent basis, perhaps as an alternative to to Ghost Slaying Axe.
  25. Well it definitely happens with Overgrowth, too. I'm pretty sure this is some kind of bug related to pets playing their summoning FX again after they've been summoned, because when I buff a Shivan they tend to disappear and emerge from the ground where they stand.
