  1. Not sure what ??? confuses you. A 4.5 second animation for 30% takes so long we would lose the 30% before the animation is over. Half the animation sure, even with the interruptible element.
  2. In-game testing has begged to disagree. But maybe things have changed. If you could test and let us know?
  3. Like the others its good. You can perfectly get away with playing thematic characters since it all boils down to simply making a good build for them. Ice/Ice or Stone/Stone won't let you down. Stuff like Fire Armor/Claws is just perfectly min-maxed to me which is important for my appreciation. By level 20 the character has everything from the core which means it exemplars down to 15 with that core. I - personally - would struggle to like a character whose linchpin powers would take too long to acquire or would be lost if I examplar too low. It's something I've been looking at when I consider playing other secondaries. Energy Melee would do tremendous burst, but the linchpin powers come at 35-38 and even Build-up comes at 28. Fire melee would be thematic, but the first 'real' AoE comes at 28. Super-Strength is really fun and super-heroish, but don't you dare to examplar lower than 32 or you lose your only AoE, etc. Most people won't take a big consideration in exemplaring down and intend to solely play at max level which makes this a non issue for them. I'm on Everlasting btw, but have moved to a second account. If you intend to level there let me know since I bounce around all the time in the low levels.
  4. You will be spoiled for choice as Tankers are in a good place. Radiation Armor is top defensive goodness with Radiation Therapy holding you up from level 16 to level 99. Fire Armor is your most offensive oriented armor and it will blow holes on things to a point you'll forget you are not a damage oriented character. There is no particular set that I would say is bad though with the caveat that some are slow to start or need IOs to get up to snuff. Granite Armor is a bit obsolete nowadays with the built in downsides not making it a fun set to play. I may be biased but my altitis has been cured by my Fire Armor/Claws which I've posted on these boards.ots of damage and starting early unlike, say, Super-Strength, whose trademark powers only kick in at 28 and 38.
  5. Four damage procs and two -res, it has no need for accuracy, the damage is better than what Fiery Aura achieves because it ticks twice every ten seconds where FA ticks once.
  6. The medicine pool is... kinda bad, like 90% of the pools. There's a reason Fighting, Leadership and Speed with Flight/Leaping for travel are pegged in nearly all builds and if those three were removed I'm not even sure what I would bother taking. Aid-Self at first glance seems good, and then we notice the monstrous 4.5 second animation for a 30% heal, who can then be interrupted. Not even with maxed interrupt reduction will it go off if we are standing on fire or caltrops. It's only use is for kiting. Hover away from danger and heal and it will be okay, but 30% is nothing special. At best it has a 6 second recharge which makes it look good, hey, we heal 30% every six seconds!, but in practice with the 4.5 second animation turns it into an 11 second recharge and it returns to mediocre land. Like all other power pools barring those mentioned on top. No one knows what Field Medic does. Not even the combat attributes. It sort of shows us getting an extra 5 points of endurance, which I suppose does give more recovery since recovery is based of the % of endurance. So basically it is old and obsolete. Carry greens to heal if needed. Carry medical packs from the P2W since we can carry far more of those than greens. Carry Recovery Serums also from the P2W and save yourself three powers.
  7. Oh, you're one of those that believes there is a moon?
  8. I've done that in the past and it did not help (did it again to be sure but it just revalidated and did not download.
  9. Bad? It's one of the best sets. The AoE is a bit small but it's plenty acceptable.
  10. There we are doing an ITF with a TW/DA Brute. Poor guy. Not only was he squishy but he was using rest at level 50 😄 We start talking and he complains about his endurance, and how he is on generic IOs and the last time he played was in issue ONE! We all start pitching in with suggestions to help his build. The moment the mission stops someone hits the AH and buys him all the procs, the Panacea, Miracle, Performance Shifter, Theft of Essence, etc etc and then patiently explains where to slot them (he couldn't see Health and thought he hadn't picked it as he leveled). I was like, aw man, you don't see that sort of thing in WoW. Well, to begin with no one even talks in WoW and then we all go back to our separate servers anyway.
  11. It's something to try alright, but I'd like to know what is causing it. Iv'e seen some of the older threads with people using the logs to uncover how X had an inverted or corrupted texture.
  12. Namely, I can and -have- done 8 hour stints TFing like mad, in and out of missions, moving across maps, fighting with seven others plus dozens of mobs. Solid. Not one crash. Then I enter Pocket D and sit down to RP and suddenly crash. Later on, crash again. Enter the AE, do RP, crash. Enter the AE again, continue RPing, crash. Enter a base, start RPing. Crash. Return, continue, crash. So what have I extracted from this? Obviously RP is bad and satan is giving me signs I'm going to hell the fact I stay in one place for a certain length of time seems to do... something. Memory leak? I have no idea what. I do have crash logs, and considering these are relatively recent I have quite a few to my name already ...yep. Is uploading the latest crash(es) log(s) something that I can do here and someone, somehow, see what is happening? I would prefer doing this first before I engage in formats and re-installs of OS and Tequila and etc.
  13. So, basically, the tea version of 'would Pepsi be alright?'
  14. To be honest I've seen Camel play and I read what he does with the build, and it does make me jealous. Dem huge orange numbers pushed by Fire Armor's Fiery Embrace are droolworthy.
  15. DA/MA can reach 90% to all except its holes, and then 45% melee, ranged, and AoE.. DA by itself can reach the 90% to all except holes and still 45% to smash/lethal and melee. But what makes DA one of the strongest is the heal. 66% HP every 10-13 seconds makes it near unkillable.
  16. Finally got off my lazy ass to test the build VS a pylon. Titan Weapons and double Rage Super-Strength are still the reigning champs, but, unlike Super-Strength with its only AoE at 38 (and rage at 28) and Titan Weapons being a hot mess if exemplaring is attempted this one is good to go from level 20 onwards. 15 if exemplared.
  17. Fire/Claws Tanker. All T4: Musculature 45%, Degenerative, Hybrid, etc. First attempt: 3:40 minutes. My 4 points of -KB robbed me a lot of time since I kept being bounced up. I also used Barrier mid combat trying to mitigate the KB which robbed me of another 3 seconds. Second attempt: 3:50 minutes. I 'cheated' and used the empowerment stations to add KB protection. Despite not being KB anymore and not using Barrier midcombat I lost 10 seconds <_< Third attempt: 3 minutes. Used Hybrid. Fourth attempt. 3:50 minutes. My rotation is feeling like it is not optimal. I apply Follow-Up too much at the expense of other powers that do twice the damage. Fifth attempt: 3:07 seconds. Turns out my gut feeling was correct. Sixth attempt: 3:13 minutes. New rotation definitely shaved 30 seconds off. Seventh and last attempt: 2:47 minutes. Used Hybrid. It's not quite TW or double stacked Rage, buuuuut.... on the other it exemps like a MFing champ down to level 15 and everything 15+ is icing on the cake for the build. As usual the pylons did not hurt in the slightest and with just Focused Accuracy turned off I had to use Consume once in each test.
  18. You fool! You've just invoked @Camel! He is going to wax poetic again! Quick, run, I'll hold him off!!
  19. Quantum leap as a huge improvement. When it's actually the tiniest change possible 🙂
  20. Low ToHit does not really matter since it all attacks have a minimum of 100% chance of hitting +3. +3 is where we are once T3 Alpha is in and we don't (usually) fight +4 at lower levels. It's definitely something you can improve if you intend to fight +4 pre-level 45. The kismet is in there? Ah, wait, I went to check and had imported the wrong version. My bad, I will post the correct one now. My current main (absolutely in love with it) is a Fire/Claws and it only has the one -KB in Fly. The game happens fine with just it. The one place where I notice the lack is doing Hami and being chain KU when hitting the yellow mitos since the KU is a strong AoE. This is 1% of the content for me. But again adding a second one somewhere is fine if you wish it. Most of everything else falls under 'guide, not mandatory'. If you do not wish the extra AoE then swap, and if Ice Sword is not desired then remove it though consider that Freezing Touch is your big hitter and you do want to fill the 4.9 seconds it takes to recharge. Freezing Fists, Ice Sword, Freezing Fists gives you this. Frost is also a decent attack to fill in a ST rotation, furthermore with the -res proc there. So Frost (2.5 seconds), Ice Sword (1.5) and Gloom (1.3) narrowly fill the 4.9 needed. Same with everything else. If you dislike Hover then take Combat Jumping, and if you dislike Hasten then do not take it, but, well, Hasten does propulse every cooldown in the build (Freezing Touch goes from 4.9 to 6.2), are you that starved for powers it is something you feel you have to skip? I'm not trying to change your mind here. With a few unrefined changes such as trading Mu for Soul mastery the recharge debuff increases to 80%. I wouldn't worry about endurance too much. Recovery Serums cost 10k a charge starting at level 1 and in a group someone will be popping Ageless all the time since it is a super common incarnate.
  21. I have some information in my signature that's bound to help a returning player (not -that- particular question though :D).
  22. I'm going to take this a step further. What IS PvP? What IS the purpose behind people being a in a PvP zone? I have done brief plays in games where PvP was forced (such as BDO) and PvPers will wax poetic about PvP being a contest of skill and will, opposing forces where the winner is saluted for their mastery on the class and build. In practice what I saw was 3-5 people groups storming down a single player to kill them. Stealthed rogue classes popping out of nowhere when a player is mid HP to finish them off, then run like mad if by some reason they failed to do so, only to return 30 seconds later once their stealth kicked in. High levels chasing low levels who had the chance of fighting back in the negative numbers. Super twinked characters staying in the low brackets in order to easily kill those passing through in leveling gear. Which brings me back to now. I -am- behind the idea that if going to a PvP zone then players are fair game no matter what activity they came to do there. BUT! What is the purpose of the players in the zone? What is PvP? What are players after? Is it fighting against other characters who want to fight back and will produce that battle of skill and wit? Is it hitting an unresisting red name as they try to do some PvE activity? Is it -preventing- them from doing the activity?
  23. This is an old build I had, maybe you'll get some ideas from it. From my point of view it could do with a bit more of refining but it has everything including Taunt and two extra AoEs to abuse the Tanker buffs. Frost is worth frankenslotting for some extra range though the tanker buffs makes it already huge (10y = 15y). I don't find OG or CoF useful having Ice Patch in the arsenal. It has 40% defense becoming 45% with Barrier. I'll give the same advice I usually do which is not forgetting the ATO adds a total of 20%-ish res and to take that into considering. If the slotting has been made in a way that resistances already reach 90% with one stack of the ATO then the other two stacks will go to waste. If you intend to use Barrier (a worthwhile consideration for the 5% to defense allowing to reach the 45% softcap) then you also get another 5% to all res. So despite the build I posted having 80%-ish to all resistances with one ATO stack Barrier would add another 5%, and a second stack would add another 6.7% making the 90% goal reached. No matter your intention just consider it even if you don't wish to use Barrier or don't wish to rely on two ATO stacks (I would not rely on three as PPM, pauses, and misses conspire against three stacks).
