  1. I ran a series of tests against Hewers in Siren's Call. I conducted 5 tests each based on time and Critts. How many Critts can I get in a single kill, and how long does it take to kill. Here are my findings. First up; a run without placate in the chain. Electrocution HITS you! Build Up power was autohit. HIT Hewer Elite! Your Assassin's Shock power was forced to hit by streakbreaker. Your Assassin's Shock waylays Hewer Elite for 121.38 points of Smashing damage! Your Assassin's Shock waylays Hewer Elite for 65.02 points of Energy damage! You land a critical hit on Hewer Elite with your Assassin's Shock for an extra 390.17 points of energy damage! HIT Hewer Elite! Your Thunder Strike power had a 95.00% chance to hit, you rolled a 20.23. Your Thunder Strike deals 69.9 points of smashing Damage to Hewer Elite. Your Thunder Strike deals 83.88 points of energy Damage to Hewer Elite and drains some of their endurance. You disorient Hewer Elite with your Thunder Strike! Your Thunder Strike drains some endurance from Hewer Elite! You have knocked Hewer Elite off their feet with your Thunder Strike! HIT Hewer Elite! Your Chain Induction power had a 95.00% chance to hit, you rolled a 82.29. You smash Hewer Elite with your mighty Chain Induction for 55.48 points of smashing damage! Your Assassin's Shock waylays Hewer Elite for 54.08 points of Energy damage! You critically hit Hewer Elite with your Assassin's Shock for 180.3 points of Energy damage! 14.27 Seconds. (Again, every single time, within .50 seconds of each other.) Stalkers are the Burst damage kings. The previous poster said that this is only good for burst damage, sustained damage not so much. I disagree with this statement...our Burst damage can be sustained. My placate recharges rather fast, and all I have are SO's right now. I don't even have a single IO. As long as I do not run out of endurance, then I can keep this up all day long and get more Critts than a Stalker not using Placate. In a team situation, I will drop Bosses faster and move on to the next guy much faster (2 seconds in combat is an eternity) before the Stalker not using Placate. Burst damage over a period of time adds up to the sustained damage. There is nothing you can do to add to your sustained damage that I can't....I add Placate in to that and I will out DPS you every time. I have provided the numbers. It's up to you guys to think about it, test it out for yourselves...and then come tell me that skipping Placate is an option. I believe skipping Placate is an unwise choice. Good luck, Stalkers.
  2. This is confusing burst damage with sustained damage. The changes to AS, the inclusion of focus, and the Stalker ATO all improved sustained damage for the AT. Placate still has a place for burst damage, but it is eclipsed in sustained rotations incorporating the ATO into Assassin's Strike. This is evident on the old forums Stalker threads in the Pylon thread. You can replicate that methodology and test if for yourself right now on Justin if you don't believe it. In short, Placate has uses but it is not the mandatory damage increaser it once was. Mandatory? That is debatable. However, the first part I would strongly disagree. Sustained damage, with a fast recharging placate (which isn't hard to do) gains you an extra crit every single time. Sometimes you even get a double critt. Check my next post. I'm going to show you guys something here.
  3. Thank you very much, for both handling it and for providing the link. :)
  4. There is currently an extremely toxic "player" on Help channel on Excelsior, who is being insanely racist and overall toxic. What is the new method of reporting somebody so a GM can see what is taking place?
  5. Green Lantern? I would say more like Red Lanterns. :D
  6. Level 25 for Bloody Bay. Also, that was the introduction of Stalkers, who gave even HOed out heroes a fright. Nobody knew how to handle them. Good times!
  7. +1 You hit the nail right on the head. Some of the animations need to be a bit more flashy, instead of looking stiff, and more Psi Blade, less ghost fist.
  8. The issue I am having is the animations. Very bland some of them. I was hoping for Psi Blades with maybe some animations that mimic Katana. Some of those animations are similar to the old /warmup command. Very lazy animation work if you ask me. Also, not a fan of Levate as the top tier ability, or the Confuse power instead of another Damage ability with perhaps a Stun or Knock Down.
  9. The reason I ask, is because Chilling Embrace is supposed to drop when mezzed, due to the fact that it affects more than just yourself...and even though your version of it does not, I was curious if it is bugged due to them both using the same animation.
  10. In a game full of supervillains, the real crime was that you didn't get a Bug Hunter badge for your selfless inquiries into game exploits. I did earn that badge, but not for finding that bug, the bug I found that got me that badge was a bug that would crash any major map you were on.
  11. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if a player at some point put one together. ;)
  12. Stalkers who don't know how to play the class skip Placate. Don't let anyone tell you different. They claim Placate is poop now, but that free controlled critt is priceless as a Stalker; along with using it to get out of hairy situations. A Stalker without Placate does less controlled critts, which means less DPS. A Stalker without Placate means less survivability; which also equates less DPS. I am getting the strong feeling some of these "Stalkers" who are skipping placate don't fully understand the class.
  13. If you plan to PvP, get Stealth and Invis. If not, yuo could also get the self heal in the Medicine pool. Being that you are a defense based stalker, the self heal will be amazing.
  14. You never know. Take away Fury and see if Brutes are still as beloved. On the flip side, lets say we give Sentinels their own tweaked version of Fury, or even Domination. Inherent can go a long way. How dare you make sense!
  15. Wait, didn't it used to be a Rocket Launcher on Live?
  16. The issue here is, these are not Devs supported with millions of dollars, so funding is very limited. This means anything that we can fix on our end to allow them resources to fix issues that can't be fixed on our end is preferable. If there is indeed a way to adjust sound volumes for each individual sounds, I would look in to that before asking for this request. If a method cannot be found, then by all means, continue with this request. You actually have me curious now, because I have personally never noticed any volume differences in any of the characters that I have played. I'll keep an ear open now that you have brought it to my attention.
  17. First, let me ask forgiveness. I was in my younger 30's and had not yet left my rebel without a cause stage in my life. So dont go raging at me...it wouldn't do you any good anyway, lol I remember when I got my friend to confuse my Invuln//SS Tank in RV...I instantly zoned to Atlas Park and Foot Stomped in the middle of a crowd of lowbies... instant death. Lowbies lay dead everywhere...raging. I laughed my tail off so hard my stomach hurt. Even though I wouldn't do that type of thing today, I still smile an evil grin at the thought. 8)
  18. And like the game, we are back! Spread the news! :)
  19. As long as it is an OPTION and something not forced, I'm okay with it. Sadly, like so many other changes this game has seen, things are not always made an option.
  20. I dont have the time nor will to do all the math on that, but what I can say, is the set *feels* like, if the original animation was brought back, and the range of the AoE was extended, the set would be back up to snuff.
  21. I can second this. I went to gather badges there and day ago, I had never really stopped to look around at the grandeur of it all, the place looks absolutely stunning, if a little bit repetitive and unintuitive to navigate. Also the badge descriptions there really paint the zone in a much more interesting and disturbing light, highly recommend reading them if you ever go for em. Shame they rushed it out and didn't really work on it at all after as it could have been amazing and not the empty wasteland it is now Thirded, while technically it's like three "zones", I count it at one giant one... Shadow Shard has always been my favorite "zone". I LOVE doing laps around the Storm Palace! Can't wait to get PK to 50 again so that I can do that again! I am right there with you! My favorite zone! Even when all we had was Paragon Chat, I would sometimes just go there to chill and chat with people, even though there was nothing to do.
  22. It's really not. You're implying that you feel it's selfish of people to ask that a trivial change be made to the game because of a physical limitation that caused them literal pain. That's kinda the very definition of being ablist. Ableist is the correct spelling of that. The definition of that is discrimination against people who are disabled. I hardly consider a headache a disability...but let's role with that. Then you're a jerk. I think you're grossly underestimating the severity of the pain people were being caused by this. It's a physical limitation, it's not up to you to determine what's not enough to be a "disability". You sound like one of those people who shout at someone parking in a handicapped space because they don't "look disabled"... Oh, and if you're going to be pedantic about spelling, it's "let's ROLL with that". You're whining about a change made to accommodate people with a physical limitation. That is textbook discrimination. And, no, many of them did NOT previously know they risked headaches playing the game. I think I like you. You put up a good argument. Let me clarify for you; I wanted the change to be optional...it was not made optional, so now I miss the old graphics. That's it. :)
  23. Either way, it should be fixed. Either fixed to utilize the Accuracy Enhancements, or fix to where it no longer lets you drop one in it. As it stands now, it's deceiving.
  24. Ouch, sorry to hear that. I honestly can't imagine. I get headaches from time to time, but my headaches are tension related...hardly anything I would be in the hospital for or need disability for. I would say a 3 at best, maybe a 6 or 7 at worst, and for whatever reason, Advil kills them for me...so they only last until I can get a hold of one. Best wishes to your friend.
