I think they should remove Assault Rifle. It does smash and lethal damage and that is the most resisted damage in the game, thus lowest DPS. Which in turn means someone on my team with AR is dragging the team down on its DPS per second ratio. I thought I was nuts and loved to argue. If your sitting at your keyboard and blowing your top because someone used KB powers you are crazy.. You have forgotten the point of what playing a MMO game is. If you sit there and even say "Oh, come on" your nuts.. If you are really calculating your DPS per X time and have this as a COX requirement. You are nuts.. I just can't keep pushing how absurd this discussion is. There is a reason why Warcraft created Classic servers.. Has anyone been on level 50 team lately ? How many people really die ? Its usually the same player repeatedly because their build sucks. Or one or two players that are really not 50 yet and jumping the gun. If I die I am literally caught off guard. I'm holy cow where did that come from ? I just rarely die and yea I'm that good (lol). Like are people on a 8 man team where 7 are energy blasters ? I think Nova is one of the coolest powers. It looks devastating even if it wasn't. Some of the Energy blast effects are cool. That semi circle glow with a beam shooting out.. Whats next offended by a color ? Bright is too bright it hurts my eyes, remove it. Can someone just lock this thread and move your ideas to suggestions.. 1. Character option to change KB to KD. 2. Null the Gull to change KB to KD. 3. IO sets to change KB to KD..

Disruption arrows in trick arrow - 18 endurance. Corrosive vial - 20 endurance Crack whip - 18 endurance Toxic Dart - 8 endurance ( I think for some crazy reason my endurance is dropping with every tick of the dot on this power ) Pretty much literally can't use these powers without blowing all your endurance with other things going on. Even with IO set bonuses, it's just over the top. You are pretty much forced into an Incarnate endurance reducing power. The issue comes into play much more because Mastermind attack primary powers are much higher in endurance. Mind you I have several builds with Trick arrow and crack whip as a mastermind. BUT This is the first time I have Disruption arrow and the Experimentation Set.. And I noticed when I DON'T use Corrosive Vial and Disruption Arrow my endurance is good and is pretty much like other game play experience from other mastermind builds not using those powers. MIDS has my endurance use at .65 with a recovery of 2.6. Which is pretty much the rule of thumb of 2 points recovery above your endurance use. Which is what I follow for all builds and it works out on the 20+ level 50 builds I have. Again not a big number cruncher player. But something just does not feel right based on the limited toggles I have running ( Two), Weave and Scorpion Shield. I have other builds with Scorpion Shield, Weave, Tactics, Tough, Hover and less endurance issues.. Again zero clue.

The Mastermind Wishlist: Completed, Uncut, and En Masse
plainguy replied to Monos King's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
The option to create build with just one pet. Less pets means stronger pets. The option to get more attacks based around your powerset if you take less pets. Lower endurance for Power set attacks.- 152 replies

KB is such a non issue I have zero clue why the OP would even bring this up. KB just really means nothing in this easy game. They should have made it where you could only put a LIMITED number of IO sets on a build. Because when everyone had standard IOs you NEED players to team with.. Today I am soloing AVs with a one pet mastermind. lowest hitpoint pool. No bodyguard mode because its insta death for 1 Pet. Where is the OP defending his post ? Finally this should be in suggestions not here

You could and just one slot shock and put them in endurance.. Which probably is a good idea But Crysis build is better. I say that is the current Robot EA build to beat

I have a Electric Savage build ( not created yet ).. Typed defense cap all but Psi.. 2 seconds off Perma Dom with no incarnates. You could probably swap out Electric for Dark and take a look how it helps. The sad part its 30 IOs at 25 million each.. Even with my farmer its too much for me.. I can make tons of other toons for that price.. Faraday Cage would have been a nice toggle

This for PVP or Regular game play ? For PvP then I would say EM for boost range but you would have to team up with another sniper to spot and snipe with you as Boost range would put you out of actual clicking distance to target someone.. So you would have to target through another player. But it would imagine it to be effective for picking off players.

I have a DP/Fire.. its a great set.. Have HOB down to 17 seconds.. Range, Energy, Negative Cap and I am doing 3/8 for overall speed. I think it tons of fun with the AOE..

Are you looking to use IOs ? You said you have a farmer is the farmer slotted with IOs ? Do you understand the defense and resistance game mechanics ? I would first look at this forum for Demon Pain.. its a common build.. No need to reinvent the wheel.. The builds are just about pretty much the same regardless minus a few different powers or IO sets.. Why do I ask the questions above ? Your build is mixing Crafted IOs with set IOs and your very much lacking in set bonuses. Pain is mostly a resistance regen build.. So you need to work on cranking them up.. This is an old build I had from actually the old forums. I am sure someone could take it here and rework it up to some thing better to today's standards, but it still works.. What your looking at is The Regeneration which is at 702% which is scrapper range regen. You are covered in 2 type defense caps Range, AOE and midway with Melee. So your regen will help cover the Melee defense weakness. Smash and Lethal are at resistance cap, which is the most common damage component in the game.. World of Pain is Perma. How it works is you provoke mobs onto you.. Oppressive Gloom will help tons stunning the low level mobs as the pets take out the bosses. Provoke, heal or buff, Provoke, Heal or Buff, ETC. whip attack to try to get the recharge off and its a decent cone debuff. Now that pets will obey much better should be easier as they won't run off. Silly question, with the button on (GREEN) on protector bot defenses jump to 54%. No clue where this number is coming from. Because it goes form 44% to 54%.. Which is 10 points. When I use pet powers and turn on Protector bot bubble I get the correct 7.5% defense increase.. Which is 51.7% as I sort of expected.. So where is 2.5% coming from ? But beyond that much better build with a few simple IO changes..

LOL Crysis, You give me too much credit.. I honestly looked at the sets in MIDS and said I can't get full positional defense or Typed defense so go hover blaster.. Never thought about KB. Though If I can put a KB IO in I do.. For me having those 3 sets of endurance IO preemptive Optimization is what annoyed me the most and that its pretty much the only IO options you have for a power. But never have I thought about Faraday for -KB.. I did go on test and try out quickly the resistance build and I just did not like it btw.. But thank for showing me how to get Test center on my login.

I know the hover blasting works. But I hate hovering honestly. I could go Combat Jump but again playing many hover blasters the minute you get into melee range your toast.. No clue how the AOE heal works, meaning how good is it really. My idea is to create some sort of keystroke bind that will always target my Assault Bot to start any healing or Buff.. Something like Press down target assault bot release cast power. Was just testing out fighting an AV on my Petless thread and it worked out. Just needed to spam provoke between attacks and was able to kill off the AV on a 0/0 setting. Mind you no + levels on my side via incarnates powers. All I used was the Assault Bot The Battle Bots ( or any Tier 1 Pet for Masterminds )are just a casualty of war regardless. I just need the protector and assault bot to stay alive. I also tried not go to expensive on the IOs. I wish the IOs where cheaper.. at 25 million each a set is expensive.. I can farm but that gets boring as well.. Incarnate wise on a team of 8 I will have team buffs that increase my defenses. So I could drop down the defenses to rely on protector bot bubble. There is definitely wiggle room. If I go to higher IO prices I could get defense cap numbers quicker. I got him up to 42 and I have about 120 million atm. Probably 140 once at 50 I am guessing. But also working on a Semi-Petless Ninja Trick arrow build. So my stuff is all over the place with decisions.

I have one.. full defense cap. Almost all pets next to perma. I think its pretty cool.

Have a Robots/EA at 40. going with my build as a Range cap hover blaster. The pets will give me some extra buffs to max out some other positional defenses. Will keep reworking the build as I farm for IOs sets and see where it goes.
-
I have many different masterminds. Many different range attack toons. I swear if you put a gun to my head I would have zero clue which of all my tons is topping out in DPS. I get a decent feel but at the end of the day I can't tell the difference between a 10 seconds to kill and 15 seconds to kill moment.
-
All good info but this was funny
-
Neither am I numbers wise.. But I wouldn't mind having Tier 1 pets ONLY if they had more survivability. I agree on the Petless line.. My mistake will correct it. There should be some pet or whats the point.. Like you said port over whips.
-
I won't go in to massive details and try to keep it simple and just try to explain the concept and some background. EDIT - There should be some pet within the build. My only point for bringing these concepts and builds up is to simply say it works now as is, but might not be the best. But my simple point is from a Proof of concept it works and is doable. End result those 7 builds listed could do just about any Task Force. First off I have 7 Petless or Semi Petless masterminds at level 50 with assorted incarnate levels. Not many at the incarnate level boost because I pretty much soloed/PL all the builds up. I am able to solo 3/8 on missions and kill AV's on lowering the +0 setting with no incarnate levels. Current concepts. Johnny and his Giant Robot Goliath. - Super genius boy builds a Robot. Robot Traps with last pet only Wyld Hunter - Incarnation of the wild hunt with his wolf. Beast Mastery Trick arrow last pet only Nyte Terror - Boogeyman for badguys - Demon Darkness, Last pet only Dark Lasher - Demon Storm - Last pet only. Summon hell storms and overall chaos. Whipster -Demon Kinetics - Techno guy created energy whips and Kinetic power via his suit to fight bad guys. No pet Whip Lash - Demon Traps - Techno guy creates energy whips and Traps- No pet. Nega Jake - Thugs Time - twin brothers, one semi normal and another infused with dark powers Vigilantes towing the line between good and evil. - Last pet only. The builds are in my Signature. So my simple point is this is somewhat doable. But some build rely heavy on Incarnates to shore up weak areas which is usually endurance based do to Mastermind attacks costing so much endurance. My concept is to allow Masterminds similar treatment that VETs do where certain abilities are locked out when they pick another. Less pets means more attacks at a reduced endurance cost then they are now. Less pets means a boost to current pets. These choices are baked into the build. Meaning it has nothing to do with the current pets you have out. It related to how many pet slots you picked in your current active build. Thus instead of six pets you have one giant much more powerful pet. For example using Robots We can assume that Battle bots the Tier 1 pets are worth 1/3, of the Assault Bot value and the the Protector bots are worth 1/2 value of the Assault bot. So having a build with just Assault bot and protector bot and NO Battle bots in the active build makes the remaining bots much more stronger. A bit more hit points and a bit more resistance or defenses. Having just the Assault Bot would make it twice as strong as it currently is. Not picking up Any Tier Robot would give you another attack of power related to the level it was picked. EG Not picking Assault bot would give you something comparable to Rain of Arrows, Full Auto, Overcharge, Blizzard, ETC.. You get the point. Another example would be not picking up the Bruiser for Thugs could give you Hail of Bullets. Not picking up one or two of the training powers for pets would also give you some form of attack or however the build types are set up method wise. I am not here to argue the dps value of the current petless or semi petless mastermind and I would concede the mission pace is a bit slower to some degree. But it isn't mind numbing slow. You are moving at a decent pace taking mobs down. Where other servers are looking to give mastermind pets costume choices. I say homecoming should go in a different direction and diversify the build instead. Just allows for many mix and match and unique builds then what we normally see. Later on if you want to change the appearance of the pets based on the number of pets summoned that a cool bonus/Option as well. Only Assault bot would make it a bit bigger or different looking.. EG Malta Hercules. Only last demon would give Behemoth Overlord or Blade Prince Only Tier 2 Demon pets would give you Succubus.

Got Maria Jenkins.. I was able to take him down and make him puke a few times. Since he had a few AOEs. I had to keep the Bot behind him or to the side but within range of Triage beacon. I had to spam provoke between attacks or he would go after the Robot. I had to resummon the Bot 2 times during the fight. I started off with one purple inspiration and one Orange to not suffer too much from the first hit. Nothing worse then starting the fight and the first hits puts you at half health. His AOE attacks destroyed over time the Acid Mortar and Force Field Generator. I also had to keep FFG behind him as well which worked out well. He did fall once as well from the Epic torrent attack. Most inspirations for healing I used on the bot. But I will say I only had 4 greens and at one point the bot was so low I thought He would drop but he didn't and I could see Triage beacon bringing his health back up. The simple rhythm really was just provoke, attack, provoke, attack. I tried +1, I was burning him down but there comes a point where he just starts burning me down. A couple of good hits.. Then another one and I'm flat.. If I had some incarnate levels I might be able to do it.
