I will add if you could.. Learn the game mechanics assuming you don't. My signature has that info. Try a Tankermind build for your first toon. Traps anything will get you defense cap easy. Time is also good but a bit more involved on getting that defense cap but its a great set as you can move around with it and has lots of heals. So Robot Traps, Thugs Trap, Mercs Trap. Time anything because you can make it any color you want.

Reworked Demon Dark Build. Tried out Spring attack with a bunch of procs and just found it lack luster. Though again I know people can just say the whole build is lack luster. 🤣 Nonetheless, I needed Scorpion Shield and no other attacks caught my eye overall. Another issue was of course endurance. Rule of thumb is your endurance RECOVERY is 2 points higher then your use. This wasn't. I added Slot enhancers where I could to reduce or increase endurance and it helped out. I also had super speed and super jump and I really felt it both were not needed. I needed attacks. So I went with Mace Beam Volley and was much better. Quicker recharge and overall more DPS. The one power I see is great with Procs is Howling Twilight. I can see some nice damage coming from that from time to time along with the stun. Also picked up power boost which is also helpful for increasing the timer on some stuns and even for the heal. Twilight Grasp went from 427 to 555 which as it says in mids 30%. Sadly that power can miss a lot. Finally Hell on earth with Dark Servant wasn't feeling it. So went with last Demon pet. Minor gripe, The Demon and Dark Servant are on top of each other when not moving.. I know not important just noticed it. Overall now its working well. I could put catalyst in the powers to make them downwards compatible for endurance reason. I was trying to go for a dark boggy man under your bed theme. A guy with a whip and some smoke monster and some small little imps. Mace beam and the large demon sort of messes with that concept. Personally just defenders. Look for me there is just something about Assault Rifle. Beam is good and its proven to be a AV killer.. I have my AR IOed out with Knockdown procs. The only attack I didn't pick up is Beanbag. Though Beanbag Taser from device combo is very good for holding bosses. Personally I would rather have them dead/arrested so no holds. What I like about AR is it does different attacks All unique in some way. Beam I literally had to change the sounds of the attack to make it more likable. The original sounds sucked. I can't explain it. But beyond that I think its just the same attack for many of the attacks animation wise. Look like many on my AR Device I can solo 4/8 on the right mobs. Counsel, CoTs. But I do 3/8 for just a bit more speed. I'm gonna play around some more with my AR Traps and see where it stands. Solo you get 25% more dps I think as a defender.

You might need to work on this but here is the concept.. I don't see much wiggle room honestly. You are pretty much at range cap. You drop Radiation infection from range which means mobs will attack you. But your ranged defenses should help mitigate that. Then YOU move in on the anchor for Radiation Infection. Hopefully you picked a Boss. At this point every mob around the anchor is minus 22 to hit.. Which means you will be at full positional defense cap in that area.. Mobs on the outside will be dealing against your range defense cap. Choking Cloud which is similar to Oppressive Gloom will quiet the noise of low level mob attacks. So you might be surrounded by your mob cap but not all will be attacking. Hail of bullets is your next attack which will increase your defenses for a few seconds a bit more. Then Bullet rain for another AOE Then start picking off half wounded mobs. What will transpire is other mobs will start jumping in as other mobs drop off to fill up the Mob attack cap. So you could fire Bullet rain into other mobs just standing around to get a bit more aggro and more mobs closer to you for hail of bullets. I do this a lot when running solo missions on 3/8 setting. I attack 2 sets of mobs while I run to a third set and I try to bring them together if I can. You pick your Travel power EDIT You could also drop Melee down a few more points leveraging Radiation Infection. Get rid of sets in Boxing and Brawl and redistribute to other powers.. Thats 10 slots. I love my AR Device Hover Blaster.. Beam is great as well. Have a sentinel Beam Energy Aura that I have dozed off several times to find him still alive 30 minutes later when I woke up. But I do have a AR Traps Defender and the DPS output sucks. Again all builds IO'ed out and defense capped, ETC.

Ultima Online was hard core PvP.. You died.. You lost your stuff.. You could loose your house key as well and loose your house. I mean you were scared to go into dungeons and the woods.. Heck the edge of the cities were ruthless. GREAT, GREAT stuff.. Nothing better then being new and seeing someone in RED name and wonder what that meant only to find out what it meant.. lol.. I honestly say it was a great learning experience. You learned to fight with less and you did everything you could to fight and win. They were like running gun battles. Scams and traps.. Loot a dead body turn gray and now be free to be attacked. Provoking 3 bears to attack the other person as a naked bard. I wish other players could have seen the craziness that went on. DAOC was really great as well. The massive battles at a keeps. 30 on 30 fights.

They made some changes to how snipe works in a update. I believe that is out of combat.. EG if you open up with Snipe and you have all the requirements it takes a bit longer but does more damage.. Middle of working or would take the time to look everything up and post it. Go to the updates and see what they did with snipe it will explain it.

You can hover and still use Hail of Bullets (HOB)out of melee range. I was trying to get Range defense and Smash and Lethal capped but I couldn't do it. There were just no sets that were conducive to that type of build. Most of smash and lethal are in Melee type sets. You could go trip mines which is no longer interrupted but solo that puts you in melee range putting them down which is no good as you will get smashed. Team wise no one is waiting for you to drop a trip mine. So best bet just playing a range cap hover blaster. My big concern is HOB and hovering. You can end up too high and just plain miss the mobs below you. Like Beam Rifle and my Beam Energy Aura Sentinel is kick A$$.. But does anyone feel like the animation is slow ? I feel like I am hitting the button and the beam is just dripping out of the gun. I wish I had a better way of explaining it. But it just seems slow compared to Assault Rifle for example. Hopefully someone else has better verbiage to explain it.

I had no issues UNTIL I came up against Requiem.. I could just not burn him down. I knew If I couldn't kill him I couldn't kill Romulus. I've mentioned this before.. It's a great build and I have dozed off to wake up still alive 30 minutes later. But still not strong enough to kill Requiem. I was able to burn him down a bit by eating 4 reds.. Redid the build as it was off. This build has no hasten and is setup with Perma Energize. Which means the recharge on Full Auto is a bit higher by 5 seconds. You need Stamina 4 slotted and you would need to put in 10 slot enhancers in stamina. 5 in the Performance shifter proc and 5 in the Efficacy Adapter endurance IO. This will bring your endurance to 2.94 which is almost 2 points above your endurance use. This is the common rule of thumb of having 2 points between recovery and use. Otherwise you will be burning a lot of endurance even with Cardiac or Agility slotted. Basically you will need to be popping Blue Inspirations. Yes Ageless will help you out but personally I try not be pinned down like this if I don't have to. Power Boost though limited will be interesting with all your knockback powers, Slug, Buckshot and M30 Grenade which all have Knockdown IOs in them. With Build up and Assault Full Auto is doing 595 points of damage. Again nothing to complain about. With Endurance issues covered you could go Musculature and increase your DPS for Full Auto to 641 points of damage. The opening would be Boost Range, Build up and Full Auto. The good thing is the increase cone range will help get more groups hit. Boost Range will bring your Snipe attack out so far that you couldn't target a mob at that distance unless you were targeting through another player midway towards the target. The Range is just that far. I could see some double teaming in PVP as one person is the spotter and you are sniping through them. Again Snipe is almost doing 1k in damage with this combo. So the other player is not giving up his position and no one can see you at that range. As you can see your endurance recovery is 2 points higher than your endurance use. Otherwise you will be relying on Blue inspirations. -
Some power set builds lead themselves well to getting good defenses and decent resistance numbers. Other builds do not. Hypothetical For thematic reasons also some epics work better in a build then other epics. Personally I dislike Ice sets, I am just totally not into ICE. But I like fire epic a lot sadly sometimes I can't use it because I see more value in a defense shield or picking up a resistance shield. I would like to see every epic have a shield option. I would also like to see that every shield have the option be ether defensive or resistance. Wonder further could there be a Potpouri option for ALL THE EPICS (Using Mastermind Epics here for example). Each epic has 2 level 35 choices, 2 level 41 choices and one level 45 choice. So I would like to be able to pick up Static Discharge, Scorpion Shield, Fireball, Explosive Blast and Spirit Shark Jaws. The limitation would be once you pick your max powers for that level you cannot pick another from that level from any set. They are blocked out for you. Example you cannot pick 4 level 35 powers, once you picked 2 level 35 powers all of the other level 25 powers would be locked out to you. Your next choices would be 2 level 41 powers and then 1 level 45 power. Assuming some limitation would be needed for balance reasons that you needed to actually block out these powers as mentioned above.
