  1. That's the only offer of head I've had all week so I'll take it! 😄
  2. Well I hope @Snarky took my comment the way I'd intended it - as light-hearted, slightly deprecating, off-the-wall humour. I'm guessing you did not see it that way given your response, but Snarky clearly did because he gave it a thumbs up. I am not in any way competing with him or trying to do him down; if you look closely you might find we have had much positive interaction in the forum, and sometimes even in game. Also, for reference, you may want to check out how Snarky portrays himself. I was in no way admonishing him or any of his team-mates for the outcome, simply expressing a hope that it didn't have unfortunate consequences and I'm genuinely sorry if that's how you read it. I reread my post again in light of your comment and I still don't see it. No, the game is not fragile - the fact that the fans who love it so resurrected it from the dead (indeed, that's arguably else Snarky has in common with this game, being undead himself) - is a testament to that. But I do believe that fans and players do have a duty to treat others well and with respect especially when first engaging with them and I have had my own share of awful experiences in other games that so completely turned me off of them I will never return. I was simply trying to express that concern.
  3. I felt for a very long time that many T9 powers were sub par. It seemed, especially in the early days, that the Devs had this idea of a massive nuke that would devastate the enemy but leave the caster exhausted - but in practice it never worked like that - it left players knackered but the enemy was still viable. For a long time I rarely took a lot of high damage T9s... they simply were not worth the energy and endurance cost but thankfully thing are much improved these days
  4. Even if we did, would you know what to do with it?
  5. Well in fairness, if he didn't know the way to Cim, his level should've been one of the first things to check but hey... he's learned something now and hopefully will come back to Cim and ITF glory when he's bigger 😄
  6. Yeps. And that's a legit way to learn for many - but it doesn't mean we can't sometimes soften the landing when they fall Sometimes even an idiot enjoys being rescued!* 😄 *just ask Positron
  7. I think truck is also used in British locomotion - unlike Little Eva or Kylie
  8. Sorry @snarky I think I (*cough*) accidentally derailed your thread. But again, being serious - when we do find a new player on the deck, do we as a community have anything in place to show them the proverbial ropes and give them a positive start to their CoH Homecoming experience? (When I first started in 2006, on my very first day somebody gave me 99999 inf and showed me where to spend it on enhancements and where the station was and ensured I know what I was doing. That 10 minutes gave me an amazingly positive experience - it wasn't just about the game, it demonstrated that there was an amazing community involved in it and that is why I've stuck around for 17 years)
  9. and here I was thinking we were going to have a good game of pippistrelle
  10. On live when you had limited slots, that was a very viable reason for playing a Kheldian - I remember when I first started I got 10 slots per server (and realistically only 2 servers to play on since my schoolboy German and French just didn't pass muster) - and we got 2 extra slots when adding CoV to our account. Now, we just bring what we want because we can
  11. Cricket bat or rounders bat?
  12. Lorry and Truck are two words that are often confused due to the appeared similarity in their meanings. Actually there is some difference between the two words. It is important to know that both truck and lorry are vehicles used for different purposes. A truck is generally a smaller vehicle when compared to a lorry. It is interesting to note that a truck is described as a light vehicle. On the other hand a lorry is classified under heavy vehicles. This is one of the main differences between a truck and a lorry. It should be understood that a lorry is used for transporting heavy items and things such as logs of wood, machinery and the like. On the other hand a truck is used to transport small items and light weight goods such as household articles and the like. The driver of a lorry needs to be more skillful in driving the vehicle than the driver of a truck. It is interesting to note that in the US a truck refers to a vehicle for carrying heavy goods. In the Britain, it refers to an open railway carriage or wagon for carrying freight. It is important to know that trucks are used in railway stations and airports. On the other hand lorries are used on the roads. These are the main differences between the two words truck and lorry. https://www.differencebetween.com/difference-between-lorry-and-vs-truck/
  13. most farming happens in Pocket D. There's a lorry in Atlas, close to where the old AE building is, near to Wentworths.
  14. I realise you're used to sarcasticating most nights, when you're alone - I'm told it's not an uncommon habit amongst those without lives - but to be completely serious for a moment, new players are welcome, and should be made to feel welcome. I hope that person didn't think "this is crap" log off and decide never to return because of their experience. Losing a badge is unimportant compared to growing our precious community.
  15. Only some Council missions feature the Center, so technically all other missions have no centre and are thus hollows. /em getcoat
  16. I do like my Mind/Storm troller - but I think you've just given me an idea... Mind/Poison would give me 5 solid holds and a ton of stuff that isn't well resisted and my foes can all do my bidding while I stand there laughing 😄
  17. I remember some time back, I think before the close of phase 2 Marvel promised no more Origin stories - and they've been pretty good with that since. So to an extent that ties in with what you've said here.
  18. Wincott gives her as a contact very soon after you take down some outcasts IIRC. The problem with her missions is that with XP so abundant as it currently is you can outlevel the zone quickly without even speaking with her.
  19. you know, I always wondered how Stealth worked but that's useful info thanks. I am finding that if I can get a set-piece going on my TA/Sonic she becomes quite tough to take down even solo, and is incredibly rewarding to play.
  20. I think a lot of this is gonna be about feelings @tidge - it doesn't seem there's a significant enough difference to say "I should play X when I want to Y" - more a seat of pants emotional response to character concept: "He's slightly iffy, doesn't mind bending the rules, fundamentally a good guy but will do some bad stuff to achieve the greater goal" vs "she wants to restore Paragon to its former glory and intends to be a beacon for all that's good in the city" kind of vibe. Thanks for your inputs peoples!
  21. I do find Marvel's reticence in bringing the Fantastic Four back to the big screen somewhat puzzling. The original superteam's previous efforts are long since gone (and forgotten) so there's no real hangup in bringing back, provided they give it a good story. That I think is the biggest crux. How do they introduce them to the MCU without some stupid time-travel bollocks. But also it gives them a chance to bring one of their best villains back in the form of Victor von Doom
  22. Then I'd suggest it's clearly not such a mistake 😄
  23. you can buy one from P2W cheaply enough if you really don't want to take one be it magic carpet, or void skiff or whatever.
