  1. very Deep question. Take Blasters. Billed as "Ranged"....still angry over this. They are built from the ground up as blappers. Then you have sets with a ton of cones and some PBAoE, they jump back and forth to correct range 'jousting' and then there are the AR and Beam Blasters. Actually ranged. That is one AT. The examples are endless. And i am sure I missed the finer possibilities just in Blasters.

    Help wanted

Since its a Farmer I take as much Damage as possible. Musculature Alpha, Pyronic Judgement (of course!) Reactive Interface, Clarion for Destiny (Fire Armor can use the Status prot imo) Lore Storm Elementals because I dont like pets, so i just get angry clouds, and Assault Hybrid.. That means even in teams this beast is running squishier than most Scrappers. Needing big mobs for End Recovery PBAoEs and burning down anything that gets close to it real fast. ....errrr, as long as it stays up lol. Then again, the rez is another nuke!
  3. gonna slap on a gravitic and just push my wall of -rech -movement even further. It may only work on trash mobs, but since my big AoE is DoT I might as well glue everybody more or less in place
  4. I am rounding out my powersets (and Incarnate Theme!) for my Ice/Cold Corruptor. Going with Intuition Radial Paragon for Alpha. I did T3 (Total Radial Revamp) last night but I am a long weekend from T3s and T4s on the rest of the build lol. Cryonic Radial Final Judgement, of course. Polar Lights Core Superior Ally, Clarion Radial Epiphany for Destiny, I am guessing and asking about the next two. (specifically in regards to debuffing) I am thinking Support Radial Embodiment for Hybrid. The descriptions leave a lot to be desired. I cannot tell from the detailed info what the 'special' is. One reason I am lookling at this is the 80 foot radius. This will be one of my farthest range toons. All powers are ranged and I have some minor but not insignificant global range boosts. Interface I am a little torn on. Diamagnetic Radial Flawless gives a 50% to hit debuff proc and a 100% regen debuff proc, but unsure if it is powerful. (as the above -regen specifically mentioned from AT powersets) Gravitic fits the theme and adds more of the same, never a bad idea. Paralytic adds a defense debuff, which again adds more of the same, although not useful against AVs I see. Then there is Reactive with a dam res debuff. which I know people like for this work. But it adds a Fire proc. I am a sucker for theme. Fire on my Ice? hmmmmm.... gotta be something else lol.
  5. I just started a Ice/Cold corruptor. 50 is definitely the "start" I sat in Atlas on my limited night hours for three days and got PLd to 50. Then I respec'd, purpled, catalyzed, boosted. Then i went to Pocked D and switched to Villain. Then ran a MSR. I have run Cold Blast on Blasters, Sentinels, and Dominators. I just never realized how powerful Cold Domination in Corruptors is. This is literally the ranged fighter I have been looking for and I have been looking for years. The AoE is decent (for volume if not damage) but the debuff is extreme (is there a more extreme word?) for ST and very good for AoE. No reason for me to slow level, I have been running various combos of this for years, just missed the one key powerset. This will be a Villain (for theme and power) who does Incarnate Trials, Redside Strike Forces, ITF, MSR, etc. I don't need it to run all content, I just need to explore how far I can push it. In the MSR it felt WAY more useful than the characters I have taken there before. When I debuffed an elite boss I could SEE the League melt it faster. Slamming large areas with slow and -def, and -res felt very useful. I cannot wait to explore my tactics on teams and leagues and determine how to best use my new ranged superweapon..

After a tough ITF (it was horrid lol) I revised the build to get Rune of Protection. 8. I just started exploring Corruptors and went right to Ice/Cold for various reasons. This is the build I came up with, although it is for teams, I think it is good. No doubt can be improved on. While levelling it would need some "filler" sets where the purples are. It is softcapped for range defense and has high recharge and accuracy. 9. I think i found my ranged squishy "unicorn" i been looking for since live lol.
  10. So, I just started playing a Ice/Cold Corruptor. Cold has an ST -Dam, -Regen (Benumb) and two Aoe -Res (Sleet, Heat Loss). These are good for helping a team vs. AVs then?
  11. I got a Ice Ice Corr PL'd to 35 late Sunday. Worked today, and worked out (I have long days lol) but I did manage a mission team for 3 hard missions, Freaks and Carnies at 39 dialed up a bit. The debuffs were interesting to work with. It is hard to tell on a team, (and we had a kin, so no idea about real recharge 'feel' lol) but it felt like I was pretty effective, laying down a lot of AoE and debuffs, then pew pewing. And the ST debuffs on Cold Domination are nothing to laugh off. Infrigidate and Benumb are nothing I would want slapped on me in a fight! Again, it was hard to tell on a team my first night on the toon, but I was not unhappy.
  12. If i walked into a mission with a Brute at 95% accuracy I would just go sit in a corner. Because being a doorstop at least is honest. On my characters I want 100% bare minimum to hit on the power THEN add Kismet and global accuracy bonuses. A LOT of bonuses. Modern team love to run at +2/+4 or run Incarnate Trials which are tough. Then the CoT debuffers and Succubi and about 20 other debuffers. sure, on a nice clear day with even mobs and no debuffers 95-100% is great. That does not exist in most of where I go.
  13. Sigh, I made a pimped out Crab on Homecoming. Then the damn Backpack started showing up on other toons and would not go away. weird weird glitch. May have to do with the new type of memory discs comps use now. No idea, just a guess. But the damn thing was showing more and more. I deleted character, solved issue. I do love almost everything about the Crab. Except working for Arachnos. Those guys suck...at being bad. Sure, there are a lot of them, but they are F-ing incompetent
  14. On a whim Saturday I joined a Posi 1...with my main, a Dark/Dark Brute vet 50. Purpled, Winterized, and with as much Nitrous Oxide as you can cram onto a build. But when I build a Brute (or any character, but I know Brutes best) I place powers as if levelling. Armors come in 1st, primary attacks as available after Armor choices, flight as soon as possible (I do hate jetpacks, love flying) then kick, tough, weave, and then wherever the build goes. It would drive me crazy to just randomly pick the powers from wherever on the build as I respec. CRAZY! The Posi 1 went quite well. In a shock to no one a high end Brute is still playable when exemplared to level 15.
  15. As long as you get the lowest level available Proc. Steadfast Protection +3%, buy it at level 10 for instance.
  16. Most pool powers are lesser than versions of ATs power sets. costing more end and having less effect. What "compromise" do you suggest. What AT power (i assume from a melee AT) comes closest to this power?
  17. This is a continuing project to find a great "ranged" character. Miserably hard to do. Blasters are not ranged, they excel at Blapping. You have to build sideways to get them Ranged. Two powers stood out to me here. Sleet and Heat Loss. The rest of Cold domination...left me cold? I probably screwed up the slotting trying to get my build goals. Priority was 1) Softcap Ranged Defense. 2) High Recharge, trying for Perma Hasten (missed it by that much) 3) High Accuracy. We run a lot of +content at 50 and missing just sucks. 4) Not gimping my damage dealing powers while achieving above goals. I wish the build was tighter. i know I have missed something. I wish I could have at least enhanced Sleet with a defense debuff set, but I needed/wanted Pacing of the Turrtles bonuses Please look at this and let me know how I can improve it. Thanks. 18. This is my experience trying it Blueside. But Redside...The Lady calls to me. I run it maybe once a year, back on live and here, every contact, every mission, every side mission. It is darned satisfying to be the bad guy.
  19. I am looking at various powers in the Corruptor sets that appear to be 'game changers' In Cold Domination there is Sleet, which can be made Perma easily. At -22.5% Def and -30% Res is no joke. Then the T9 is another -24% Res, and gives plentiful Endurance to the team. The rest of the set is meh. (i dont care to buff lol) But that is the definition of corruptor to me. Just make your opponents life miserable. While the Blaster brings more upfront damage, all the time (very nice, yes) The Corruptor (in this case) severely weakens the foe from a safe distance while the team works the body. Much like Brutes vs Tanks on Armor is Corruptors vs Blasters on damage (to me) Yes more Armor, or Damage, is good. But if you can trade 25% of that off for...hmmm cookies, is it worth it?
  20. Yes, I know the difference. Sort of. But there is knowing, and there is knowing... First, can someone clever break out the damage modifiers these ATs are using? Second, How good is the inherent. Being able to pew pew with T1 and T2 is nice. Nothing to write home about. Scourging damage.... Yeah, that can be mentioned. Should be mentioned. Good enough reason to take Ice as a primary on a corruptor because of the way the T9 interacts with scourge from what I here. Not sure. Third, synergy on teams. Damage is always better. But, on a high end team running 50+ ITF or Incarnate Trials, which is more useful? Or is it powerset specific? Like (this is a complete guess) Kin corr > Fire Blaster > Thermal Corr > any other blaster > any other Corr? (again, that was just a complete spitwad guess) And so, I ask...
  21. I started looking through the threads. And the "calling all Corruptors" is actually nearly the exact same topic. So after reading through that I started thinking. An Ice/Cold may be the Ice toon I have been looking for. Have tried it on Sentinel (Ice/Invul) and Blaster Ice/Ice and Dominator Ice/Ice but somehow missed Corruptor. If I can softcap ranged Def it will give me a pure range pew pew and with the (thanks for all the input) Corruptor inherent interacting with the Area Ice Rains it may be satisfyingly potent. Then just frost things down for good measure. I am not a healer or buffer by nature but Ice/Cold does fit the picture of being a true Corruptor to me. And i have just the alt idea for it too....
  22. I am finding myself getting old and slipping into support roles more. Even on my Brutes. Thankfully, we have a lot of new players it seems. That need buffing lol. What would be some good choices when building for Incarnate Trials and 50+4 ITFs and other late game content?
  23. I so rarely get compared to sane. I am so saving this. Maybe print it out and put it on my wall.
  24. It is always a bit subjective. I want a "Tanky" character to feel useful and unstressed. I want to be able to do damage. For me Brute still fits that bill better. Brute vs Scrapper. Scrapper does more damage. But there is no doubt Brute is a significant amount Tankier. More than 21% well the Dam Res is 15% different Cap, then there is health. Carry the 7. Yeah, it is a bit. Do Scrappers do x% more damage? Yes! But....I like some armor. Tanks. More Armor, easier to cap. But...Brutes do more damage. Once you hit the same Def and Res, even if its harder to get there, Health is less important. Because if you are even going below 50% health you are kinda in a bad place. So,, with a little work, nearly as survivable as Tanks. More damage. So, for me, Brute still fits in that sweet spot on the curve.
  25. it got...warmer....over the last couple pages. But its a low drama message board so thats about all we will see lol.
