you have to advertise / educate. one mission that sends people to the garden to pick a flower or talk to an npc in a commonly run chain would inform peeps it was there.

The costume nerf on Stone alone makes me flee lol. then there are the curbs. ^shakes fist at sky "Who put this curb here?"

Yet I do feel that Shred Monkey hit the nail on the head. A team of peeps throwing Nukes does make my Brute feel...meh. This bit of board therapy is kind of making me realize why I (and maybe a lot of Brutes) tend to be happy on a team...somewhere not that close to the team. I feel powerful soloing a hundred Ritki to free a hostage while the rest of the team heads for the General on a LRSF. I can do that job lol.

I started redside on SS/Invul Brutes. Mostly giant robots. Then Willpower dropped. Ooooo. SS/Will Mutant human. Brute/Rogue. Wore the traditional Hero costume set (which reminds me of a blaster...) but then used bright lego primary colors everywhere randomly. uh-huh Homecoming I was back on a SS/Invul Brute Rogue, with a build from Hyperstrike. A giant human who started abusing HGH, Steroids, then Superadyne and Excelsior. There were issues. So...many...issues. Now i am on a Dark/Dark Brute Rogue. 1030 badges (my highest count yet!) A Vampire. Not twilight. More like original Nosferatu style by Murnau. Good times. Good ST, heavy armor, bag of tricks, if you kill him he pops back up and stuns the crap out of everyone. He is fun. -

Except on 2nd Edition Barbarian from Unearthed Aracana....those things...it wasnt right lol Especially if you combined the light armor pieces from the Asian sourcebook letting the Barbarian hit neg AC wearing just little un magic protection here and there....with Tank Health lol -
Yeah, my Darek/Dark main Brute uses Soul Mastery ranged AoE and Cone (I personally like cones, learned them well) I use these two a lot. Dark has crap for AoE. Incredible complex toolkit, powerful, crap AoE. i lean hard into Souls ranged AoE attacks to grab agro and help melt.

This is a slightly serious comparison of damage numbers. Beyond that what the damage numbers mean. (after resists, kill rate etc) But beyond that (and so Brutes arent completely crushed into oblivion a foray into team synergy and usefulness. I ran a speed ITF +4 with all Ranged about a week ago. 6 blasters, 2 Corruptors. I was on my shiny new incarnate Ice/Cold Corruptor. It was a speed run. No, really, it was a speed run. We went through that thing like a bobsled down an ice sheet. I remember someone died, there may have been two deaths. Did not slow us. As fast as you could get somewhere everyone was dead. We were all 50+ Now, I have not run this with all 50+ Brutes, but I would be interested. (I never lead, but I may need to set this up) My belief is the Brutes will prob be slower...but more because as Brute players we love to sit in the spawn rather than lack of enough damage. while blasters/corr just want to fly swat and go. I was on a melee heavy TinPex last night. That got me thinking. The Blaster made a Snarky (everyone wants to be me) comment about "team melee." We did alright. Not great time, but okay. We ran it backwards and Battle Maiden was last. I got smushed once (Dark/Dark Brute, Soul Transfer had me back up) But after that I spent more time dodging Blue carpet. It was not the quickest Battle Maiden fight I have seen. But we got through it. Parting shot from the Blaster "Team slowme" Grrrr. It was seriously NOT that slow lol. So, two subjects really. A straight up damage number comparison of Brutes versus Blaster. Preferably with some number geek chiming in on what effectiveness those numbers mean against armored opponents. Second, a delve into team synergy. Has melee slid into second class citizenship in late game content? Was it always second class and those that love to play melee just laughed off the meat shield comments?

i havent been getting purples lately but i have gotten 3 PvP recipes over the last couple days. but i also made a little over a billion just crafting junk recipes i bought and using merits i earned to get converters and change them to something decent. bought about 15 winters and 12 purps with that. and had a little left over lololol.

yes, range and strategic play will be important. the grav time troller looks nice. i have never levelled a troller before. i may have made a 1st level one at some point, but have never ran one. but in this case it may work very well. without the pressure to build for perma dom, and instead focusing on building for strategic assistance, could be the way to go. one of the things spurring me on is a good percentage of teams on TFs start to lose cohesion. i am not a fast player even on TFs i know. i play brutes, usually with just fly, and have been known to just stop in a cave tunnel that is packed to 'get myself some room' rather than speed to objective. lately i have noticed a good number of people slower than me, for various reasons. would be nice to have the power to group the team, and then group the enemies.

I made 800 million on the market in the last week. This despite market prices being down from a year ago. I do not like AE and have done maybe an hour tops in last week as an second 'hitter' in a big farm helping lowbies. I do like Task Forces. I run endless Task Forces and Trials. I take merits, buy Enhancement Converters. I get recipes as cheap as I can from AH (prices have gone up!) and craft/convert, sell (prices have gone down) and still make tons of cash. I suppose you will argue that all of the influence in the game originates in AE. Let me just say. NO. If there were no AE people would be sidekicking lowbies and/or running solo endless PI door missions. Or another 'farm' The logic that starts with 'the problem originates in AE' is about as useful as a bucket with a hole in the bottom. Carry on. -
you may be onto something. i think we cut cut everybody's armor, defense and resist by a scaling amount, of 50-100 in inverse proportion to the number of teammates. the ones on the map at least. that would bring it all into balance,

oh, it would alienate at least one player who pushes their builds to the limit. and stop me from EVER alting onto an odd duck just to experiment. and be crushed. -
I am thinking more support, strategic stuff for the team. Teleporting teammates and enemies in ways that speed the team along. grouping enemies, bringing along slower teammates, or ones trapped by enemies

I have a character concept in mind that uses a lot of Teleportation. I could just go with what comes off the top of my head, but would like to ask for ideas and expertise. The character will be taking the Teleport pool, of course. All of the powers it fit the concept. I want the character to be solid. It may not be as useful on a team as a kin, granted. But I want to create something that does help the team out. It would be nice to have true invisibility and or phase shift. The better to get into position for TP and control the chaos. Thanks for any ideas.

I cannot find this badge as collected in my list (hard to scroll through all of them annd see each one...) and the badge tracker shows this sequentially right after Dark Omen and before Ambitious. Its not there. Yet I am standing on the badge location in City hall and nuthin...

My Ice/Cold Corruptor is way more use on a team than my ice/ice blasters ever were. This is due to Cold Secondary's INSANE debuffs.

I find this hard to believe, Rarely do I get curious about a persons powers. Usually a Brute or a Tank. I run Brutes and like to know what to expect from a teammate. Or if I am on a squishy to know what type of Tank I am working with. I literally cannot remember the last time I examined a character and saw no set bonuses. Maybe I have forgot, and I do not do it all the time. Still, my memory is not complete crap. Most of the time I see set bonuses, generally a lot of them. And NO. No one should alter the game based on ANY of the wild haired ideas or assumptions in this thread. Are you people bonkers? We got our game back. You want to re-configure the whole power balance? Are you ignorant? Seriously? Or just plain stupid? Rebalancing this old game would take a ton of work and we have no idea how it would affect play and community, teams, patterns, market, the list goes on. If it is not broke, do not 'fix' it. Wow, just bonkers from first page to here. *steps down off soapbox.
