Keep in mind (from what i understand you want 4 or 11 pts KB prot. 7 or 8 is basically 4. So is 10. 4 and 11 are the sweet spots. GL -

Hey folks i could use some build help. I have looked for something similar and cannot find anything. i am looking for an Energy/Time Build. I do not like villain epics and will use Energy Epic. Not sure i need Haste? Hover stealth CJ. Am going to use Invisibility as i solo a bit and fly. I doubt i will have room but love supahfly afterburner. Manuevers? I am thinking fighting pool as set mule for +6 global def procs and weave? i have enough inf to really build this thing up. Already have base ATOs and overwhelming force slotted at 24. But chasing ranged defense is throwing me off a bit and bow to do it efficiently i will post my hardscrabble effort later. Unless someone just slaps “the build!” Up here first. Please! Lol thanks

Roll an Invulnerability Armor TankerBrute or Scrapper Seriously though what do you mean by resource? It will vary by character greatly. Are you talking inf costs? Enhancer cost slots? Power choices? There are a lot of ways to solve this problem. Which manner are you trying to maximize? For myself i just started a new Blaster. I am not rolling in Infamy but if i spend a week i can grab a billion. Not as much fun as rolling alts lol. I slapped a set of overwhelming force on the character for the set bonuses and as Energy he needs KB to KD which OF has. And 6 slotting the set? 4pts KB prot. To me this is almost free. Since i chose the set for three other reasons. It has the KB—->KD proc. It has ranged defense. It is a solid set to enhance a power. -KB prot too? I hadnt even noticed when picking it (i normally run melee that dont need it so unfamiliar). So. Free. Free is good -
I joined a group called "Villains of Paragon city" A heavy Evil RP SG that runs a lot on Blue and some on Red. Evidently a reboot of a group from Virtue. They are doin base construction. There are 10 or more peeps on each time I log in. They do in game events. I thought it might not be a great fit because my toon is a pure villain., and they did a SG event Blueside as I rolled in. But I like to give everything a chance and I enjoy mostly rolling solo except for TF and RP. Harder on a Blaster but that is the challenge isn't it.? Then last night, out of the Blue (I suppose literally here?) a leader offers up the Redside Bank badge run. 5-6 of us rolled all night, not just grabbing badges but wrecking the Mayhem maps and robbing banks. We even did Atlas twice because someone missed the badge (late joiner?) and we robbed that bank again. Invader accolade done! Those of you who have been dedicated Redsiders know how nice it is to get that out of the way. Also, I am impressed with the group a lot for doing the event and doing it well. If you have a inkling to do some crimes look up this SG!

There are some melees i wont play because of mechanics. I forget which sword set has a super complex chain of attack possibilities with different outcomes. Not for me. Never rolled one. Dark Armor looks complex but it is not if you just Brute through and run everything. If you build on the cheap you may have to juggle toggles. I wont run Bio Armor because the graphics. It has to be managed ti get more effectiveness the most complex i can think of would be a MM/traps. You have to plan and execute plan juggling pets toys and locations to maximize effectiveness

About the only way to get 100% Fury is with the Villain alignment power. A year or so (?) before the big snap they changed (freakin’ nerf bat) the Brute Fury mechanism because Brutes (mostly hogh level but i will still blame you farmers) were consistently doing more damage than Scrappers. They had already launched Going Rogue so except for concept toons Scrappers were not going to be picked by high level players. The new change to Brutes made it easier to keep your Fury bar higher, so slight removal of the harshest part if the nerf. But they also lowered the max damage on Brutes. They give with one hand and watch what the other hand is doing

Okay expanding in my legless and miniature giant mech stuff: legs that are just “hover pods”. Inanimate but maybe glowing or with jet exhaust going. Hiver engine legs of various types. Then for the mage types you can do the same thing but magic theme. Flowing cloth/ethereal streams. -

I have a villain concept toon i have always wanted to run. A pure Redside Blaster. Pure Villain. I am leaning towards a Brain in a jar on top of a robot with Energy Blast powers. I do have a backstory for it. I am getting ready to drop this thing into Mercy. I was wondering if there are any Redside RP groups that I could join?

I would like to see the extra incarnate powers that we will maybe see in a year or three temporarily filled with powers from various pools. And. ... at tier 3 or 4. Extra enhancer slots (builders do the snoopy happy dance here). i could be wrong. I am wrong a LOT. But i am guessing adding powers and slots in this fashion will be much more friendly to existing coding than adding entirely new game effects and powers like the current incarnate powers. (Which are great). i suggest this in humbleness. And hopefulness. We are very grateful for what we have. I would be pretty happy to game away with The current setup for a long time. So would many of us But looking forward to the near future there does not appear to be a ton of new content rolling out. This suggestion allows an existing part of the game to be expanded Game balance will of course be affected. I have not visualized all the ramifications of throwing this boulder in the pond. But i just really like the heft of this rock. And the water just seems a perfect 🎯 target

Thanks for making me look up PEBKAC lol. Yeah i agree. Maybe if you are really running a horrid tank then you are going to have an issue ( like you built so poor you only have enough end to taunt ). But any Tank (even before the generous changes ) does well in melee. I just soloed redside every contact on an invul (no damage aura ) Dark ( crap AoE at best ) and melee was fine. Maybe boring but doing okay. Its definitely a user issue. I was running my Dark Dark Brute last night. Not particularly tanky. No taunt In two separate TF at the end there was a rush of ambush adds. I veered from the AV lightning fast and landed on them. That let the team concentrate on the AV at the cost of one Brutes assistance on DPS. You just have to always be looking out for how to help the team complete the current task faster. That could be getting 3 struggling teammates in a hall split from the party back to the group or that could be juggling two AVs -
So i leveled a Dark Dark to 50 a few months back. Never even fought Trapdoor. Just stripped it and parked it Because i knew I wasnt ready for it and that irritated me I did not remember enough about builds. I had no infamy to even start the build and i had no idea what to throw on it so i ran a lot of other stuff (mostly SS Invul and a Invul Dark Tank) but alted for months today that changed. I had a crapton of enhancers in my base. I had a Billion inf. I searched through the forums and found a build by one of the people i respect. And tore it apart lol. It had the wrong attack set (dark dark builds are hard to find on the forums) but i now knew what i wanted. The theory and the rules. I swapped out sets based on fundamental principles like do not chase Def on a Res set. My Res went up (two purple sets added). My defense down. Especially energy defense from low 40 to 30s. And Energy Res went up to ...50. Hmmm. But i trusted what i had been reading. Was able to keep s/l at 45.5 def. But i really was not just chasing more resistance. I squeezed on those two purple sets, another LOTG and added Haste. 70% recharge before i touch Haste or look at Incarnates my End was horrid. But i would throw some Emps at it and got a tier 3 Cardiac Core Alpha. Prob solved then i bought the enhancers respec’d and went through the incarnate arc. Yep. End was baaaaad after i incarnated i got that cardiac lol then i ran PI for a full level, A Khan, and a Market Crash. this character does not run at all like a refular Brute. It runs like a ghetto melee Dom with armor and HP. I use the little PBAoEs as damage firing them off whenever they are up (they are up very quickly). The Def>Res>Heal leaves out the top level. Mez>Def>Res>Heal. This thing stuns and fears like a champ. Then chews through anything but bosses fast fast. The damage buff is nearly always up anyways glad i finally got to build this out. I meant to post this Saturday night. Sunday i ran Synapse. I was careful in respec as the build leveled it would be playable. It was good. No end issues which was shocking. And i needed a Citadel a Manti and a Numina. Ran well through those. An ITF. This thing is a beast. I farmed two maps s/l the first choice in AE. At +2/x8 went well. i ran a Keyes. Okay. I died there. But the AV caught me in a bunker lol. And i died again. But even tanks die in iTrials. Bottom line. Very happy to have this build in my crew. This will be a go to for some time. Just vicious and unkillable in normal content

Okay. You just reminded me of an alt a ran for a while back on live. Laughy. Yea the name was available. Full clown outfit. The colors ooof. I was looking at art theory and took a long time making every piece be opposed to what it was next to while shifting through all the colors as i moved from piece to piece that was a SS Will. I think we need a mace invul clown. Who is laughing now?
