RikOz Posted May 28, 2019 Posted May 28, 2019 Back in the old days I created a team of female heroes, and called them "Solar Angels". One heroine based upon each planet in our solar system, plus the moon and other assorted celestial objects that inhabit our system. Girl Mercury, Venus Lass, Erdmadchen, Ms. Mars, Fille de Jupiter, Saturn Signal, Princesa de Urana, Neptuna, Notta Planet, etc. They all gained their powers via amazing SCIENCE! And the brilliant scientist who developed the serum that empowers them was an unassuming, middle-aged woman named Dr. Frances Solana: Of course, Dr. Solana tested the serum on herself first, before administering it to her young volunteers. When she imbibes the concentrated liquid science, she grows to a height of seven feet and wields the power of Old Sol himself (that is, she becomes a Radiation Blast/Fiery Aura Sentinel), and is known as ... MOTHER SUN! 4 1

Sidious Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 so I posted a few but here are more, because costume design is hella fun for me. This is my Adam West homage. simple but pulls it off well. I just wish the ears could be a bit better and there was an actual long scalloped cape design. This one is based off of Nighthawk from the Defenders. I do have to say he looks a bit better with Dark Armor Soul Noir eyes,,, I wanted to do a Mon El from the LSH costume. My Donnar character based off Thor from "Time Runs Out". This time showing his hammer/axe. My Stone/Invul Brute with a stone skin. My Stone/Invul Brute normal form, he's got a Roman thing going on because I really like that set. Again with the brute but it's the different Roman armor this time.
Transhumanish Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Here's an... admittedly long list of characters. I'll stick five to a post, I suppose? In alphabetical order: Abe, an old martial artist hero who's been around the block and then some: Ajna, a member of the Resistance, who sees only through his third eye (and from which he takes his public identity)--although admittedly it sees far more than his flesh and blood eyes ever could--and speaks only through telepathy: Apotheosis, a staunch Loyalist who uses his super strength and invulnerability to keep the populace in check: Aurochs, a newer hero whose imposing figure and frosty powers chill villains to the bone: Barrier Reef, an experienced hero involved in an underwater lab accident. His body was turned to water and coral. He can control air and water, using it to create waves and storms. Additionally, he can manipulate and create strong creations of vibrant, colorful coral to block off enemies or bind them, as well as craft buildings or other structures from it--both temporary and permanent in nature (probably my favorite overall costume design so far):
Transhumanish Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Biohazardous, a deadly Loyalist whose body exudes intense radiation, barely contained by his specially designed suit: Bitter Pill, a mutant villain capable of generating deadly poisons or healing chemical cocktails, which he uses to support the thugs of the extensive crime syndicate he has built and controls: Blood Whisper, a mercenary ninja and expert archer whose ninja clan takes whatever jobs either side is willing to pay for: Captain Dynamo has been around for many decades, now, but doesn't appear to age. Probably because this old hero is made of mostly energy in human form, using his specially designed suit to focus the powerful electricity he generates in a multitude of ways: Dead Reckoner is the modern incarnation of an ancient spirit of death. She stalks the streets killing who she wants, when she wants, and even other villains tend to be wary around her:
Machariel Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Those are all great but Barrier Reef has got to be my favorite. Awesome concept and costume - I guess recolored Earth Control for the coral?
Transhumanish Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Dr. Distortion is a member of the Resistance, whose powerful control over space and time itself, and her keen analytical mind, has saved the lives of more rebels and common citizens alike than most people are aware: The hero known as Eagle-Eyed is an avian member of a race from another dimension, where his people are the norm, in a world where the dinosaurs never face extinction and the avian theropods became the dominant life on the planet due to their increased intellect and ability to escape danger. He is incredibly deadly with a bow to a tremendous range, due to his superior eyesight: Euruale doesn't just look like the ancient middle gorgon sister of myth. She is the ancient gorgon who, like her older sister Stheno, is truly immortal; her poor younger sister Medusa was a mere mortal. She is a member of the resistance, perhaps the deadliest archer on the planet, and deeply respected among the people of her Earth: Firebirb is a young mutant Loyalist. With her tiny stature and childish quips, rumors are she is in fact a preteen child the Emperor has trained as an progressively more ruthless killer since she first manifested her mutant abilities: Friction Lass prefers to go by just Friction, but some old fellow Loyalist took the name long ago, and the Emperor is quite strict about how powered beings register their public persona in his databases. She's a Loyalist, but who is deeply compassionate and caring for those in the city, and might very well end up working for the Resistance in the end, if they prove to be right about Marcus Cole. Her mutant powers let her manipulate friction all around her, both increasing and decreasing to frightening degrees with alarming speed and precision:
Transhumanish Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Those are all great but Barrier Reef has got to be my favorite. Awesome concept and costume - I guess recolored Earth Control for the coral? Yep! Each Earth Control effect is a different color for quick identification, as well.
Transhumanish Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Junkyard Rat is a young mutant woman with ratlike features, and a superhuman ability to create robots and other gadgets out of whatever junk and scrap she finds laying around. She loathes the Emperor and his cronies, and fights them tooth and claw as a member of the Resistance however she can: Killer Whale is an old guard villain, using supernaturally strong echolocation and other sound-based effects to achieve his ends. However, he does so with honor, not ruthlessness. He might be a villain, and out for himself above all else, but he only kills when necessary, preferring to incapacitate with sound rather than liquify flesh and bone; although he's perfectly capable of the latter if pushed: Ma'at is a rarity: an utterly good necromancer, who believes in using the mindless animated bodies of the dead, and the willing spirits of those incapable of moving on yet, to preserve life. Why make the living fight in the front lines, or do heavy and dangerous labor, after all, when the dead can do so instead? He's the reincarnated spirit of an ancient Egyptian necromancer who has saved the world for millennia, often from the shadows: Old Man Winter is a rather gruff old man with a heart of gold. He comes across as cold and emotionless, until you get to know this hero; once you do, you can't unsee the warm twinkle in his eyes that show why he's been a beloved hero in the city for decades: Praefectus Urbi is one of Emperor Cole's honor guard, a highly trained soldier wielding top of the line gun and targeting systems, and stylized, Roman-themed armor:
Transhumanish Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Professor Watt was merged with his own experimental android a few years ago during a freak accident in his lab, caused when members of the PPD stormed his lab while he was in a critical--and exceedingly dangerous--stage of an experiment. All of the police were killed, and when Watt awoke, his body lay dead beside him, while he looked at it through robotic eyes in shock. He immediately joined the Resistance, seeking to tear the PPD down: Psicrystal is a ruthless villain, and killer who tears both body and mind to pieces. No one knows where they came from, or anything about them, only that they are a practically unkillable sentient swarm of crystals bound together by some sort of malicious intelligence: Street Satyr is probably a real satyr. Dunno. He doesn't really say. Mostly, he just kicks ass and takes names, nominally working for the Resistance. He's probably just in it for the chaos and anarchy: Sylvestris is an incarnation of the Green Man, the avatar of a nature god who tries to protect the planet itself. Working for the Loyalists and the Emperor is a means to an end; they are the primary governmental power in the world, and Sylvestris has, in fact, made the world greener and cleaner through force of law working for Emperor Cole: The Autumnal Knight is a capricious and malicious member of the Unseelie Court, an enforcer for those dark fey who gleefully sows chaos in the world: The Barber Surgeon takes his work for Emperor Cole very seriously. His mutant power to control organic tissue makes him a superb doctor, who regularly experiments on those brought before him to discover how the many different types of superpowers tick:
Transhumanish Posted May 31, 2019 Posted May 31, 2019 Whew, and last but not least (for now)... The Bubblegum Witch is a young woman who recently discovered she can magically create nearly indestructible pink bubbles of force of every size. Preferring to fight for the people, and her magick family personally persecuted by the Emperor's thugs, she joined up with the Resistance, and tries to fight the good fight against the forces of oppression: The Doctor is In--who just goes by the Doctor, thank you very much--works in the same labs as the Barber Surgeon, conducting medical experiments for Emperor Cole. Where the Barber Surgeon can control tissue, the Doctor can control bodily fluids, primarily blood. He can even tag, track, and very subtly manipulate blood unseen, using this both offensively and as a medical doctor: The Eternal Void is a mysterious hero, who stalks the streets of Paragon City punishing evil-doers. Nothing is known about him, but he's surprisingly friendly and talkative once you get to know him, and many a fellow hero are thankful this deadly being is on their side instead of joining the ranks of the villains: The Flayed Man, on the other hand, is just a twisted soul. He murders for fun, and has complete telekinetic control over his own flesh and blood. His "tail" is part of his own spine he lashes around like a barbed whip. He shoots shards of his own bone like deadly projectiles, then immediately calls them back to be reabsorbed into his body. He drowns people in his blood --or worse, other bodily fluids--just because he can, and laughs while watching them die, making snarky comments the whole time: The Negative Woman has been a hero for as long as most can remember, appearing as a photographic negative of herself. She appears to control light and color, and can weaponize it like others do the powers of darkness: Warrior Bee is a beloved hero of Paragon City, capable of wielding swarms of bees made of amber-colored hard light. She can direct them to attack others, or surround her and defend her from the attacks of others. There doesn't seem to be much of a limit of just how many such hard light bees she can create, but she doesn't appear to be able to create any other type of hard light constructs:
