I took all chat out of General since the Help and LFG made everything else hard to find. So I have talk tab of most chat except team and LFG. Team I just have in the lower pane. LFG is its own tab. Display Name Posted November 4, 2019 Share Posted November 4, 2019 The Broadcast spamming in Atlas Park is what prompted me to start learning to separate my tabs. LFG has it's own tab. Broadcast has it's own tab. The alleged "Help" channel has it's own tab. The Consignment House has it's own tab, but I shortened the name to "Auction" so it would fit. NPC is another channel. Rewards is a channel. I took these things out of Global so that what happens in Global stays in Global. I also have a tab called "Raids" which includes the Team, Local, League, Request, and PM channels. I use that channel for Hami and MSR. 1 @Super Whatsit Superbase passcode (Excelsior) is "passcode-6475" It's all a Nemesis plot. But not everything is a Nemesis plot! Zones - Zone Alerts (Might remove this now the halloween spam has ended). Combat - Default Combat without any reward type channels. LFG - LFG + Tells (Gets moved around depending on what I'm doing, so I often have Help and LFG visible.) League - League + Tells Priv8 - Team + Tells Rewards - XP/Drops/Inf/System/etc (I move this around too, if I'm solo of multi-boxing it's where it is when teaming it's often in the other screen/pane/tab.) Incarnate Trials - Global Chat Channel, only one I'm in at the moment (this is Reunion so we're quite quiet). Broadcast/Local are I think in LFG or Help, I tend not to "listen" to them much. Custom windows, and macro/keybinds to do everything in an automated fashion. For some reason, I just can't seem to spend the time to do all of that, but I keep playing with the same default displays, and no automation; which probably makes it less efficient, and less fun than it could be. On Everlasting, for example, we have "regulars" at certain times of the day. Some of these regulars are just cute and fun. Others are toxic enough to have merited GM intervention on a few occasions. I just find on some global channels there is too much noise that I'm not interested in, which I don't enjoy. I quite like the Help channel for general play because it is more focused on answering questions and discussing game mechanics, and sometimes you can have a nice chat as part of that. LFG is a good one to keep seperate because you tend to know if feel like you're open to teaming or not... Retired, October 2022. tidge Posted May 25, 2020 Share Posted May 25, 2020 I have separate tabs exclusively for "Help" and "General". "Combat" has been modified to only look at (non-healing) attack rolls. I'll modify this when I am studying damage effects. I.e. "Who is hitting me for what?!" Private, GM and SG Messages appear in every other tab: "LFG" is LFG + Zone events + Broadcast "Personal" is used in missions. It has the the cut-scene, NPC dialog as well rewards and the team chat. I like having a 'log of the world'. If warranted, I usually have another tab for "Pets", if I want to see exclusively what is going on with the pets. AH messages are unevenly applied. Seperately, undocked and beside main chat window I have NPC and System. Combat is in a hidden tab where if I wanna check it I push the 1 button and I push the 2 button if I wanna see Events. Tells are on all three of my main tabs so I wont miss them! Despite not being on any current tabs, Consignment House likes to spam ALL tabs to inform me they will be keeping my cash for now and I had best just come back later if I want it. Blurgh!
