I tried Rad/TW to 50+1 but didn't like it. I have played with TW scrappers in teams and by the time they start their first attack i have already half killed the group. Overrated in my opinion. May be good for pylons though.

 

Savage leap and Shield charge should work well together with some procs in them.

 

It would be nice to see some Tanker dps builds posted by people.

@Gobbledegookreally like the build! I'm leveling up with it now. You mentioned maybe changing order/slots for leveling up. What would you change?

Probably not a lot really. Maybe hold of combat jumping and get cross punch or KOB earlier. 

 

I did have a small endurance issue when I changed the build. Though I have none of the acco!ades yet. The high recharge and lots of AoE ,plus rage\hasten crashes can be end heavy. Try a performance shifter proc in gamma boost if so to help. 

 

Musculature radial also will help.

 

I went rebirth destiny but you could go ageless.

 

Rad Therapy will usually fill you up though.

This is the build i have. It farms AE very very well.

 

Had to download it twice for it to show the build some reason.

 

Also i have changed this slightly in game. I put an Accuracy/damage and Acc/Dam/End Superior blistering cold in KoB instead of nucleolus and Makos Acc/Dam.

My rad/ss is at 42 right now. I really enjoy playing him and looking forward to decking him out at 50. Does this build work well in general content? Or is it more farm-only type build? Looks really really interesting.

It will do any content. It will clear 54 mobs in a few AoE's, with just a boss or 2 left. 

 

Good mitigation, some defence, fast recharging heals and attacks and very good AoE damage. It does just fine.

I was doing arcs with a friend last night and thinking how Incarnates really mess with everything. Fire Armor is damage on wheels but 'squishy', and it has a psi hole. We were doing an arc against psi users and she was ow ow ow, psi hole, these hurt! I went and I went ow, yeah, they do. Then I clicked Barrier and alright, now they don't.

I am currently working on a Radiation Armor/Claws tanker, and slotting for chance for damage procs. It is my first attempt at a proc heavy setup, but I am hoping with the speed of Claws it might actually be decent damgae. I have no idea what the proc chances/ratios work, and I am concerned that elite bosses, archvillians and so on will just out resist all the damage procs. (might use the reactive incarnate for that, but haven't gotten that far yet.)

 

It is still a work in progress, and she only hit 48 last night. But so far its looking promising.

It doesn't have the highest DPS, but I have yet to see any of my Tanks hit as hard as this guy. Fire/Energy is still my favorite DPS Tank, second is my Fire/Psi which is better overall, but isn't quite as bursty as Energy Melee.

I used something like this for leveling but the damage was a bit all over with procs sometimes firing sometimes not. . . So at 50 I went the route of 1-2 procs per power to add some damage but not proccing out the entire attack chain. I like keeping my to-hit and accuracy higher as I definitely noticed the misses without build-up active.

I, have also, moved things around to pick up Rune of Protection so for 90 seconds I am nigh unkillable between defense and resists. Musculature is so enticing though. . . 

That being said, I do like some of the slotting on the defensive toggles and may mess around with some of those changes.

Rune of protection is interesting but I don't think I would ever need it. I have the rebirth regeneration destiny and barely ever use that either. Rads T9 is enough if only for the dps boost usually.

 

I find 2 boosted damage slots plus musculature enough. Although you can 4 slot a set and add 2 procs would work also I guess. But I went for the more damage option. The procs fire very regularly. I have a Shield\SS tanker with sets and a few procs and the damage is lower than my Rad\SS build even with mobs around.

 

I may have missed some accuracy in the build though as it was a quick put together build from my Rad/SS build with rage. Also SS knockdown etc helps a lot with survival.

 

I can do a +4x8 ITF with my Rad/SS build easily enough. They can strip my defence but they will be dead before they become a threat. The dark dwarf ambush is doable but so can my shield Tanker do it also easily, just quite a bit slower.

You can close a large amount of that hole with IO sets. My F3 has 61% Psi Res and 20% Psi Def. I'll swap to Barrier only for the toughest content.

SO good. Currently my favorite toon and if I were starting from scratch would probably use your build for my main. I feel plenty tough enough - tougher than most of the other tankers I end up playing alongside - and the damage is so much fun. I haven’t started boosting yet either.

I've had fun with this Electric Armor/SS/Soul build.  2:41 to 2:45 for Pylon times with Hybrid clicked, honestly never test without, because when I go to fight an AV it's going to be up to start the fight. Only have Tier 3's so far so there's some headroom to improve, but don't know that I'm going to get there as Rad/SS is seeming like I might enjoy it just a little more. 

 

Once the FF procs start rolling you spend a lot of time at 240% recharge, 280% the 1st minute when Adrenal Booster is going, which in turn makes it easier to keep the buff going. 

 

For a damage focused build I can still tank decently. The Tanker ATO in Lightning Field usually keeps 2 stacks up even against 1 target and 1 stack gets you capped to S/L/F/C/E/P. I had a choice of either chasing set's to almost cap N with 2 stacks of ATO but have Toxic down in the 20's or get Toxic up to mid 50's with 2 ATO stacks and N at about 62%. I went with bringing Toxic up.

 

You can always use a 2nd build to go full tank setup and drop 5 powers worth of Procs for set bonuses+swap out Incarnates to defensive minded choices. If you like to have Taunt it's easy enough to swap out Kick and lose a little bit of the benefit you get from Cross Punch.

 

The build does pretty much nothing below level 45.  I'm one of those weirdos that has never liked playing at below max level, it's easy enough to use an alt build for exemping down should you want to do so.

After all the testing done with my Fire/Claws (new record of 2:30, no clickies used!) I took a look at Dual Blades and thought it could adapt well.

 

Basically all attacks could be procced thanks to the lengthier animations and the extra attack, and Attack Vitals would basically be free damage. There would be a spot for Fury of the Gladiator outside of Burn too.

 

 

All T4 using Reactive and Cardiac (even with Cardiac it was touch and go and this with some toggles off: 3:54

 

Switched to Musculature and Degenerative: 3:30

 

I expected perhaps a bit too much.

 

 

It does highlight my point about Cardiac when the Recovery Serum kept my bar near to full for the duration of the test and Cardiac saw it dip down to 15-20%.

 

I had such high hopes for this too, and it was so much trouble (almost finished slotting everything when I had the sad idea of checking what 'auto enhance with IOs' did and it wiped all my slotting with random sets).

 

The build could use some tweaking still (dat Rectified Reticule in Blinding Feint...)

I've made this build my lil bitch and roll over to offer its tummy.

 

I've managed to keep Whirlwind Mace and Crowd Control, AND near max resistances, AND include damage procs, AND not skimp on recovery or endurance reduction on attacks, AND just abouts 40% defense, AND quite decent recharge (132 Hasten with no FF proc active).

 

 

Looking at Mids I'm not sure it will really surpass the Claws though.

 

Claws with two stacks would make Follow-up do 196, Jawbreaker with no Build-up does 240.
Slash all procced out would do 513, Shatter would do 366.
Focus 433, Clobber 479.
Burn 585. WM Burn 361.
 
...of course these numbers don't include Build-up with Gaussian
 
Fiery Embrace likes WM more too. With two stacks and FE:
 
Follow-up 271. Jawebreaker 349
Slash 572. Shatter 491.
Focus 522. Clobber 635.
Burn 731. WM Burn 465.
 
For funsies I clicked on FE and Build-up (but removed the Gaussian since it only lasts 5 seconds).

@Gobbledegookwhich enhancements actually benefit from being +5? For instance, you don't gain any advantage from +5 on a proc correct? Looking to put together a second build with the boosts and would rather not throw inf away needlessly. P.S. This is still my favorite toon. 😛

Do not +5 procs. Do +5 purple and PvP sets and basic IOs if beneficial enough that you feel it justifies the cost. Either +5 or attune other sets depending on the relative benefit you’d get from each. In attacks, it may sometimes be valuable to not +5 IOs with recharge you don’t need so as to improve the chance of procs in the same attack.

You can't + up procs anyway, the boosters don't show as an option for them, only catalysts do.

 

At least that's how it works for purple sets, I'm assuming it's the same for the others as well. My non purple IOs are pretty much all attuned so I can't check them to see.
