Isn't this a bit stacked for Shield Defense?

A defense/resist toggle and an HP/resist auto.  Also I think one with the shield.

I mean, you did already explicitly state the set would be unique, just weird how well that set is primed for this.

God yes. Please. This is such a creative set idea and fits into an under-serviced niche so nicely! Finally, a defence set that grants s/l def in its set bonuses... Of course, that would mean the event should be available year round so everyone can access the reward. Which would also be great. God knows the game needs more content tailored to small teams.

why isn't sentinel bioarmour's athletic regulation getting a look?

Oversight, it will be addressed in the next build.

Oh no. Oh god. What have I done?

I really like the idea of Universal Protection, and this would open up slotting for a lot of nice things, throughout many different powersets. For example, Demons/ and Robots/ both have Resistance and heal in their T2 pets, but there isn't a good way to boost both of them (and have good Damage/Acc/End..) This solves that problem to a certain extent.

The proposed set bonuses stink, but I could see using 1 or 2 pieces being useful in certain powers.

Although taking a look at the actual enhancement choices not a fan of them really either (looking at it for something like steamy mist/shadowfall/arctic air).  Would be much more useful to have a resistance/defense one or a resistance/defense/endurance as a choice.  Proposed set definitely looks fine tuned just for stone tanks.

I don't have any thought son the suggested IOs or anything, but please, let's have the mansion run available year-round like the blockbuster is if we're going to do this.  I'd personally love to be able to Halloween (or even Baby New Year) any time of year for the change of pace and less-over-exposed maps.

Plus the price for the IOs wouldn't go through the roof the rest of the year.

Tim "Black Scorpion" Sweeney: Matt (Posi) used to say that players would find the shortest path to the rewards even if it was a completely terrible play experience that would push them away from the game...

If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore.

(It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications)

Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case.

But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable.

Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

I want more toys to play with so I added my upvote.

My nitpick is regarding some of the proposed set bonuses. Being able to enhance both resistance and healing with one set is something that will mostly be used with armored ATs, who tend to get very little benefit from the KB protection or range bonuses (but Sentinels would like the latter at least). I'd suggest swapping those out for other things. I'd also like the S/L defense bonus bumped up a bit, which I admit is purely for selfish reasons (Sents have a hard time building typed S/L defense so I'm trying to shoehorn that in here).

I guess a second nitpick might be that this set doesn't really have a Halloween "feel" or flavor to it, contrasted to winter sets for example which have a very clear flavor to them. I think this could be perhaps given out as a reward for either the redside or blueside respec trials instead, which offer a little more wiggle room in terms of theme and also could use some more incentive to play.

Great points that I can agree with. Mending Bulwark is the name of one of the Seed of Hamidon spawns, so more Halloween themed would be appropriate.

The primary drawback to this sort of set is personal: It is very rare that I invest more than 3 slots in a defense or resistance power., unless I am franken-slotting.

I'd much rather see a Halloween set that offers Universal Control... that is, one that can boost any/all control effects without being tied to specific types of controls.

Why not both!

I know we don't like to bring up other servers here, but I'm pretty sure that one of the other servers did actually do a universal mezz set as a Halloween event reward? I'd like to see it here too but I know that the HC team can sometimes be contrarians in that they don't want to do something that somebody else already did, even if it was a good idea.

Oh I didn't know that - I had thought since they added the Spring Fling event enhancement set 'Cupid's Crush' that HC was going for a focused theme involving seasonal events (winter, spring, summer, and hopefully fall!)

I certainly like the idea of a Universal Protection set. However, as much as I like getting global endurance discounts I'd rather see that traded for a significant resistance to Negative & Lethal damage, and the KB protection replaced with Fear protection, both being more thematically appropriate to something received for Doctor Kane's House of Horrors.

Also the run speed proc should also have a run speed resistance buff tied in as well. All the better to run away when you freak out in the haunted house. (I used to love working haunts. Scared a group of customers so bad they ran through the wall once 🙂 )
