Why is Phantasm so unrealistically tall?

I mean, he is huge! Even if I make the max height character, I am pretty sure he would still tower over me. Is there any lore for this or do you think it was done by mistake? I can't imagine a reason that it was done on purpose without some reason. Maybe a lore guru can come in and explain it a bit.

Could it be, due to the name, be a grand in-joke to the Phantasm movies, where the villain is named The Tall Man?

I don't know, I was thinking normal human height.

Is that normal for a phantasm? After all, you're summoning one of them, not a human.

(And yes, I'm mostly just BSing here because I found the wording amusing.)

I tried to combine Circle and DE, but all I got were garden variety evil mages.

I can only assume that, for tactical reasons, since the phantasm is an illusion meant to help you fight enemies, you'd purposefully make it really big and imposing, both to instill fear in foes and to draw their attention away from you and to the much bigger, scarier ghost man attacking them. 😛

Nah. You *really* want to scare them, you make it a cute little girl in a frilly dress. Then make her look up, eyes shadowed, and just slowly *smile.* Perhaps throw in a comment about "Ooh, someone new to play with."

Nothing's more intimidating than a nine foot tall Freddie Mercury ready to belt into song.

... OK, it would be Freddie Mercury if I could customize the phantasm.

If you can customize PA, can't you customize the Phantasm?

Nope, there's Bright and Dark options you can recolor the Phantasm but no Mirror option.  Same for Spectral Terror.

And sometimes they're stuck in an orange suit, and you realize you've just met Gordon Freemint.

As long as you do not find them on your pillow, you're fine.  😄

I love a good chocolate mint on my hotel pillow.  If I find one strangely and unexpectedly on my home pillow, well, that's when I grab the shotgun axe...um, call the police.

Wait... Do you have a good supplier for shotgun axes? Mine was eaten by something.

"Science. Science, my friend, requires radical gambles and adventures in malpractice sometimes. Take solace in the fact that I tested the majority of these things on the dead, the re-dead, and the nearly departed before I went to live trials.

Honestly, most of my "specimens" were several iterations past being considered a human being with their original fingerprints, teeth, or IDs. So it was rather a lot like experimenting on moaning clay putty."
