Add Savage Melee, double port and faster recharge than Electric Melee. Fit in Spring attack, tripple port and hit Rending Flurry, very flashy with no animation lock to the look.  Teleport, 4 ports!

That and the "Stupid Camera Tricks" problems with teleport in the game.
Though it's possible to bind it to do "Teleport to TARGET" instead of using the placement halo.
If only Spring Attack was worth a damn.

Shield-Charge --> Spring Attack --> Foot Stomp would be a MONSTER combo.
Like being caught up in an earthquake.

As I said above.  Spring Attack is a waste of a power selection.

If it did proper damage and had a SANE recharge compared to other such powers?  Maybe then.

But right now?  I'd rather invest slots in BRAWL than waste the prerequisite power selections and slot investment for SA.

Example.

Don't use it from range.  "/powexec_location self Shield Charge"  Now it's a PBAoE!

Might even be better that way since I'm not sure AAO has a chance to tick and increase your damage if you teleport attack into the middle of a group of enemies.   It only ticks once per second.

It's a bit less fun looking that way but if it's making you sick...

What I use for Shield Charge is:

/bind g "Powexec_location 0:5 Shield Charge$$powexec_location target Shield Charge"

That makes it so my "G" key either Shield Charges my target, or if I don't have a target selected, it puts me 5 units (feet?) directly in front of me. This helps with the camera spin quite a bit.  Substitute in the key or key combo you want to Shield Charge with and try it out.

I skipped Jab and Hurl on my SS/elec brute and got Cross Punch and Spring Attack. Instead of wasting time in a 2.5 animation time to chuck something from a distance, I can move onto the next mob with an movement power which happens to also do damage. Add in Fury and Rage. I'm now in the position to Foot Stomp and Lightning Field has already kicked in. Will it be in the end version of a build? Who knows, but it currently serves its purpose. I also have enjoyed trying to not make a cookie cutter version of build. Captain Obvious here, but the KB can be KD and with Foot Stomp you can put mobs on their butts all the more.

I think I have mine set to 1 foot, and no teleport to target. Enough to prevent spin, but so little I don’t noticeably change position. I’m susceptible to motion sickness too.

Mine's bound to my Z key for a quick and easy ring finger tap. It's so quick you could literally just blink and probably avoid the motion sickness effect if you wanted (being a little bit facetious here, but with it mapped and within easy reach for quick acclimation, closing your eyes for a second or two is no big deal)

/bind z powexec_location target "Shield Charge"

I do this with all my ground target powers (Rain of Fire, Blizzard, Savage Leap, etc.). Just make sure to put the power of choice in quotes. Trying to target the ground during a fight is just a giant PITA, so I avoid it as much as possible 🤣

The funny bunny 🙂

Is it just me, or does your codpiece/crotch/groin area have a tiger face?...

I'm pretty sure "that" is NOT what they mean by "Eye of the Tiger"...

If you want to be godlike, pick anything.

If you want to be GOD, pick a TANK!

I can't believe I missed this earlier. Shield is a great Tanker armor. It's very much layered in that yes you are very defensive and have great DDR but you also have access to some resists and then toss in the fighting pool and IO sets to have some very well rounded resists. You also get some more Max HP with True Grit. My Shield Defense/Super Strength Tank is super tanky. All the knock down adds in some additional mitigation for the team but that can be more difficult to track.

Which do you guys think would be better for a MA tanker, Invulnerability, shield or SR?

I feel like the extra defense from Storm Kick is mostly wasted on SR since it’s very easy to soft cap, even incarnate soft cap. It would open up the build even further to chase other build goals, though, so isn’t a total waste, even if I’d prefer one of the others. I think Shield and Invuln are equally good, and it’s a choice between more damage output (Shield) or a little more survivability (Invuln). I found Shield to be survivable enough in comparison, and I love me some Shield Charge, so I went with Shield. Shield/MA is my main, almost my only.

My issue, which is entirely personal, with shield is the click mez protection.  If you can get over that, it’s a lovely set that is just about even overall with Invuln/ on tankers (since there are diminishing returns on survivability in this game)

Brunker, baby.  Fire/MA is ridiculous.  See Sovera's build (of which I copied/stole from without remorse for my tank - "Marshal Mayhem") for an incredibly tough and fun tank...that just buzzsaws through almost all content...

I wanna hijack this thread briefly as I have seen a couple of Shield/Energy Melee Tanks mentioned.

Any chance you guys can throw me a build for that to toy around with a little bit?

That incident involving a nuclear accelerator and a banana… You know… I REALLY don't wanna talk about it!

Sure. Accolades, incarnates and extra buffs should be off. Edit: ST chain is ET-long, TF, ET-short, Gloom, BS, repeat.

With perma hasten, Savage leep is 10.5 seconds, shield charge is 24, and Spring is 32.  Attack chain of Spring, Savage Leap, Rending Flurry (3.8 seconds), Shield Charge, Unbonused Rending Flurry, ????, Spring should be back up.  You will be like a ground hog, popping in and out everywhere.
