  • The most up-to-date version of the changes will be listed in the first post.
  • The changes in each build will be posted as replies.
    • Changes from the previous beta build are listed in green.
      • Green text will become white text in the next set of patch notes.
    • Any changes or fixes that are only relevant to the beta builds are listed in blue.
      • Blue text will be deleted in the next set of patch notes as it is only relevant to highlight changes between beta builds, not a changes from live.
    • Known issues are listed in purple.

Emotes

Added new innertube emote! You can cycle through or select your favorite. This emote requires your character to be in a water volume.

  • /e innertube - cycles through the 6 texture variations
  • /e innertube1 - strawberry donut
  • /e innertube2 - chocolate donut
  • /e innertube3 - neon green sport
  • /e innertube4 - cow
  • /e innertube5 - naval academy
  • /e innertube6 - lifeguard

The animation sequencer has been enhanced to be able to synchronize RNG state for certain animations that use randomized props and could appear inconsistent across clients. The following emotes should now have the same prop visible for everyone:

  • alakazamreact
  • eat
  • eatfood
  • food

These appear to be Detail 1, not Detail 2.

The lit-up blue part of the gloves cannot be color changed.  Is this working as intended due to something like a technical limitation?  Or a bug?

Really, really, really amazed for this. Needless to say, I hope also some npc emotes will be unlocked sooner or later, that lying on couch emote Bobcat uses would be godsend to have in rp.

But really a big huge THANK YOU for this.

Laz pointed out that the Arena Headset piece is actually in Detail 1, not Detail 2 as listed in the forum post

I wanna point out that it really should be in Detail 2, if you guys can make that change. I'd bet that most people want to combine the headset with eyewear, not with mouth wear, given that the microphone is kind of the point of the headset.

I think having the headset in Detail 1 - where goggles and stuff are - doesn't make sense and it should be an option for mouth/chin wear instead.

Definitely seconding that, it makes a lot more sense to have it available for people wearing glasses. And being detail 1 prevents things like fins and horns.

I'd love to see this also. Optimally, I'd love to see Arena Headset in both Detail 1 & Detail 2, so we can mix and match it however we prefer, but if it can only be in one of them Detail 2 would be preferable.

Honestly combining both lists of pieces, then putting them in both Detail 1 and Detail 2 would allow for some really great combos. Obviously many would conflict and just wierdly clip, but the minor examples of this have never stopped costumers before. Sometimes they can even be turned into features, not bugs.

We need to have some method, just proliferating everything everywhere whatever the clipping costs for the sake of variety in the long run won't do, I was all for it until I found how hard our graphical devs work to make things neat and clean.

You're right of course. Really I just wanted to illustrate how a change like this can multiply options in the character creator without adding new pieces. Just being able to combine existing pieces in new ways would keep us busy. This was the principle behind separating right and left options for the shoulders, gloves, boots, etc.

Maybe proliferate both lists in both categories, eliminating combos that just look like crap graphically due to clipping, etc. Though I still say some mess on the fringes of the game's design has been useful for us costumer creators and base builders. We can exploit that messiness to great effect sometimes. So the neatness isn't always necessary or overall harmful to the game's attractiveness, sometimes it can be an asset.

  • Retired Developer

Some notes:

  • Arena Headset will be moved to Detail 2.
  • Aeon Tech glow might change in the future if time permits (agree it does look odd with some color choices)
  • We were going to do a tintable Gold Bricker pack + legacy pack, but I held off them being included due to an existing discussion about customizable jet pack powers in general, and didn't want to risk complicating its potential implementation in the future by adding more jet packs or wings to the costume creator. This is not a promise of a planned feature so much as just letting you know the combinations of back / flight options and powers is a bit convoluted and we want to make it better. If it looks like whatever we decide is a ways off, we could probably do it sooner rather than later, but I dislike (in general) the idea that parts can be doubled up due to co-planar flickering when two identical meshes are in the same spot (Costume Jet pack + Temp power active at the same time).
  • Innertube with animal legs: Animal legs and heads are the red-headed step-children of costume parts since they break conventional rules about their design and compatibility with the player skeleton. There are no tech based solutions in place for the legs in particular that would allow for alternative animations for them when in use, but we'll see if something can be done for it at some point.

If your comment is removed by the GMs, it's because your feedback isn't relevant to what's directly in the patch notes. Requests and ideas should go in Suggestions and Feedback.

any chance to get this effect working for gravity propel? (i thought it had been synched on live later on)

and maybe an option in "costume sets" for Goldbricker like there is for Tech Crey, Cyborg etc?

In pools, your innertube is underwater.

And in shallow water it doesn't activate at all. The only way to make it work and look right is if you're in water that's just the right depth for the "swimming" emote to put your head and shoulders out of the water. All the outdoor maps use that depth, and I think all but a couple of instances. And I'm pretty sure there isn't a thing they could do to make it work right in water of the wrong depth.

Ctrl-f "gravity control" on the full patch notes page 🙂

Trying the innertube in atlas park. With granite on the tube doesn't lay flat on the water. It still looks cool but ya.

Don't you dare try to get that fixed!

I am so amused and just imagine how it struggles against the weight of the stone.

Not pictured: the fantastically large splash when Granite activates the innertube.

Come on, you are lucky that amount of mass even floats, innertubes have a limit to what they can achieve.
