Wondering how many levels is half way? Do you have a different metric for half way, number of power picks, number of slots allocated, half the content you usually do, half of the hours lifespan you let an alt have? So many ways. If so, you'll need a standardization, say only Single Origin enhancements purchased from vendors. Even then it is highly subjective as there's not a single price for all enhancements at a given level, and not all builds follow the same choices of enhancements. 1
Ukase Posted September 19 Posted September 19 I have never thought about the half way mark. I'm all about "Step-wise refinement". Take a big problem, make it smaller. Want an accolade? determine the badges required, take the steps to get one, then the next, and so on. I've never looked at leveling as a journey. I've always looked at my "play" as a series of goals. In some cases, it's accolades or badges, some cases it's reward merits. I rarely even consider XP, because we get it doing just about any fighting anything close to our level. 1 1

Black Talon Posted September 20 Posted September 20 Interesting subject, Jacktar; unlike the previous posters, who have used a very sensible mathematical metric of some sort to figure out what "half-way" is, I'm going to go off pure personal observation. From my perspective, "half-way" is level 32 - you've a) hit the selection peak for both the primary power and secondary sets, b) are going to be able to refresh the complete enhancement selection (presuming upgrades haven't figured into it), and c) are at the point where you're now filling out the enhancement lists at a full three slots per level, and at two levels sequentially, for that matter. Still a hell of a lot to go - a load of selection yet to come, and the Epic/Patron powers are still three levels off - but having a full range of powers and slotting available, rather than the comparatively paltry bits available in the 20s, makes things a heck of lot more open and effective, and is my point for an alt reaching "maturity". 1

Everything after level 40 is a gentle downhill jog in terms of effort. The 35-40 level scaling is the harshest in the game. The OG Devs actually had to stop making EXP costs exponential when they added level 41-50 because the amount of effort to go from 49-50 would've been greater than the amount of effort to go from level 1 to level 49 if they hadn't. 1 2

The most sane way for me to level 30-50 is some variation of soloing x4-x8 even without 2X XP boosters. I have a Level 39 Dark/sr Scrapper doing x4, and I'm getting through two arcs plus some extras in the 35-39 range. Crossie Posted September 20 Posted September 20 If you look it at a raw XP amount but higher lvls grant higher amounts of XP which means farming 10 mill xp at lvl 20 is a LOT harder than 10 mill xp at lvl 49. You would almost need to run straight missions solo and count number of missions between levels to see how many total missions are necessary between each interval at different + or - X 1-8 levels. I don't think this is as simple as it seems to answer this faithfully. 1

Kill one yellow minion at each level and see what % towards a level that gives you and you could break each level by number of mobs required to level. Level 1 it might be 4 but level 50 it might be 5,000. You could probably do this with any enemy type (orange lieutenant, red boss, etc) to see the % towards level at each level it gives to really provide an in depth answer to this. 1 1

If I'm levelling a scrapper, I will up my difficulty and number of opponents as I move along. By the time I'm in my 40s, I'm probably running x5-x8 and that increases your experience rate like mad. Generally, my 40s are like a fever dream because they move by so quickly. 2 Who run Bartertown?
