But what if it was one Extra Slot every 100 Vet Levels?  Starting at VL100.

 

A build normally has 67 Extra Slots to allocate.  24 Levelling Powers.  Excluding Prestige Sprints, 7 Inherent Powers slottable (Brawl, Sprint, Rest, Swift, Hurdle, Health, Stamina).

 

That's 24 + 7 = 31 Powers that can each take 5 Extra Slots.  For 155 total Extra Slots.  Less the normal 67 Extra Slots, that's 88 more Extra Slots.  All Slottable Powers, 6 Slots each.

 

When this baby hits 8800 Vet Levels, you're going to see some serious--hey!

 

Wait a minute.  Where do I remember 88 from?  NOT THAT ONE!

We already get rewards at vet level 99 including a badge and emp merits, I think another enhancement slot is overpowered for a reward.  I could get behind an unpowered reward, like a decorative pet or something.

Too tired to read, but the title gives the feel of intentionally giving a reward for doing something to extreme excess. This could be unhealthy and I wouldn't suggest supporting such a thing.

Normally I'd say no to a suggestion of this type. But I've been caught in a rare mood tonight.. therefore sure you can have 1 bonus slot per 100 vet levels up to a maximum of 5 bonus slots. Those slots though are auto placed into the Rest power.

 

The logic is you've played so much, you deserve a rest.

I believe the traditional 6-slotted Rest was 2 recharge, 2 health, and two stamina. Nowadays you can skip the recharge and go 3 health 3 stamina, or maybe skew in favor of whatever you run out of more often.

Brawl, but it comes with the drawback that the power can no longer accept set IOs.

I like the spirit but i think 1 enhancement slot for 100 levels is crazy stingy

 

1 for the 1st 10

1 more for 30

1 more for 60

1 more at 100

 

You have to work more and more for each one so there a diminishing returns component at play but an additional shiny for the additional work may make that worthwhile.

I don't see how adding 1 extra slot at vet level 100 is going to be game breaking or create Steamrolling Death Machines, I have no problem with this Idea and agree it would be a nice way to commemorate that level of commitment to your character. Only question, How would this slot be treated when Exempared? I think it would probably be disabled doing any content below 47.

I do not know if there is any coding for that differentiation in the game for slots.  Each enhancer is already individually nerfed on exemplaring, so not sure it would matter that much anyway

While I would never turn my nose up at extra enh slots (frankly, I wish from 41-50 we could choose a new power OR 3 enh slots... I have different characters who could benefit from either), I think the Stat-enhancing Accolade that requires a certain Vet Level is the more stable approach to this.

Heh, on the flip side, my body Hates to give that up. Super-fast clotting and it (body) caused the blood drawing machine to bark at them 6 times before they gave up when trying for the good stuff.
