Starhammer Posted April 28 Posted April 28 So many alts to log in... I wish login badges were global. Or at least "get them on 10 characters, they're unlocked on all the rest" 2
lemming Posted April 28 Posted April 28 It's one reason I tend to retire my unused alts. Otherwise my CDO kicks in and I have to fill in badges that are available only for limited spans of time. 3
MTeague Posted April 28 Posted April 28 It ... is.... actually OK to just, NOT get the badge on every single character. I know, I know, I'll see myself out ..... 3 1 3 1 1 1 1 1 .
Rudra Posted April 28 Posted April 28 I agree with @MTeague. We can have as many characters as we want and out of those characters we can have characters that pursue all the badges and characters that don't. It's up to us to decide how obsessive compulsive we are with our characters getting all the badges.

What if we change our minds about which characters need the badges? There's a wide range of compulsions that people deal with. If you think CoX has spaghetti code, brains are even worse. 3

It's sort of a point of pride that you cherish a particular character enough to bother logging in and acquiring something for them, (even if all that's required is just the act of logging in)...

lemming Posted April 29 Posted April 29 One other advantage to logging in all characters is allows me to do a quick checkup and reset the login timer. 2
TeeTee Posted April 30 Posted April 30 There definitely should be a "Global" category of badges that, once earned, are tied to your account. SMART vendor could "sell" an item to unlock them all upon purchase (akin to Prestige runs). That way you don't get spammed with too many badges every time you drop into Atlas Park with a new alt -AND- you could always choose NOT to unlock them (for whatever reason). 1
kelika2 Posted April 30 Posted April 30 you have a month on top of that you can pool resources you are not using. i pooled about a billion in loose change

There are players that have decidedly more than one or two badge characters. However, if a player has so many badge characters that cycling them for event badges is effectively a job or soul crushing experience, then it may be time to reduce the number of dedicated badge gathering characters. 1

(It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications) Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case. But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable. Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

I guess I should update my spreadsheet again soon myself ... I'm down to 90 and pretty sure I'll be cutting a few more over this month. Not sure if I'll bother with too many chars doing the Anniversary Capsule badges. I might just wait until all ~16 mob types get badged. (so, in sixish years...) I only have one maxed badger and I think I only average 500 badges (mean, 527 median) Four chars with 1000+ badges.
Troo Posted April 30 Posted April 30 (edited) I find the following slash command helpful: /quittocharacterselect ..then use last chat [enter][up] ..and double click the next character (rather than selecting 'next) Having characters logged out in insta-log locations helps. Mystoc Posted May 2 Posted May 2 put the alts in a zone with no logout timer and create a global /quittocharacterselect command keybind that will drastically speed up the time it takes to get the badge for each alt and have way less clicking involved.

I don't remember the precise numbers at the moment, but 640 or so on Torch, maybe 80-something on Victory, and a couple dozen on Excelsior (and 1-5 on others). Very few, relatively speaking, are "abandoned" and those are generally something I wanted to try a build and didn't like it for a character, but got it high enough I don't want to outright delete in case I get a new alt idea that build works better for (free name changes and easy costume changes after all). I mean, it only took a couple days just doing logins to finish up, it's not a catastrophic way to spend time a few times a year. I still wish it was a little smoother though.

In my opinion, that would be a suitable inf sink. Pay X and unlock this badge on all your characters without having to log them in. 1
