I plan to have one Mastermind for each Mastermind Primary some day.  So far, Robotics and Thugs, but not very high Level.

Okay, here's a little macro that is great for those times the colour bleeding on the screen is starting to make your eyes look the same.

 

/macro FX "++noparticles"

 

Toggles particles off and on.

For the people that don't know this trick you can really give them the gift of eye blood by picking the binary aura

I generally use /noparticles 1 and /noparticles 0. Same thing but no macro

Ran an all mastermind Yin a week or two ago and @Oklahoman organized an all mastermind MoDD about a week before that. Both went swimmingly. I've also done all mastermind ITFs several times. I find all-mastermind teams a lot of fun, but it's not for everyone. The experience depends largely on the quality of the players.

I've run several All MM MSRs, mainly on Everlasting a long time ago. The novelty wears off really quickly for that large of an event. But smaller team/league events are really fun.

We had an all-storm ITF last night.  Five corrs, a defender, and my blaster.  I couldn't see diddly in the caves with all the hurricanes and Cat5s.  

 

It was glorious. Watching dark novas getting flung behind me had me laughing. Best task force I've had in a while!

I did an all storm/storm it’d a couple weeks ago, so just defenders and corrupters.  The chaos was amazing, but yeah, couldn’t see anything in the first 2 missions.

Ok, full disclosure after writing this post I decided to dust off some of my old masterminds who haven't seen light of day in quite some time.

 

I just now finished a pickup Yin where I was running a Merc/Time and we had three other MMs, two controllers, a scrapper, and I think a Rikti monkey.  Secondaries were Time, Empathy, Pain. Force Field, Poison, Marine.  I didn't lose a single pet until someone clicked the computers before the ambush and I didn't care in the slightest because it was a ridiculous steamroll.  Finished in 27:15 and I was surprised it took that long.

 

Visibility?  I don't know because I played the TF with my eyes shut.

I have to say "yes".

I like seeing what I'm fighting.

 

I often have to use

because,even on non-mastermind teams, the visual fx just get too much. They hurt my eyes, and, yeah, I can't see what I'm fighting.

 

So I definitely think there is a limit to the number masterminds on a team.

But, I think that - in honesty - if I'm playing a mastermind, I'm not as concerned about how many henchmen are are running running around as mine are part of this issue at that  point ... I'm not sure that make sense, but that is where I seem to be coming from on this in recollections of prior gaming experiences which ... sometimes to me at least ... bleed into the dream world sometimes and I can't always distinguish days after the fact what I dreamed up and what had/has actually gone on while I'm playing.

If someone posts a reply quoting me and I don't reply, they may be on ignore.

(It seems I'm involved with so much at this point that I may not be able to easily retrieve access to all the notifications)

Some players know that I have them on ignore and are likely to make posts knowing that is the case.

But the fact that I have them on ignore won't stop some of them from bullying and harassing people, because some of them love to do it. There is a group that have banded together to target forum posters they don't like. They think that this behavior is acceptable.

Ignore (in the forums) and /ignore (in-game) are tools to improve your gaming experience. Don't feel bad about using them.

Now, I like Masterminds.  Some of my best friends are Masterminds.  There's not an anti-Mastermind bone in my body (except possibly my stirrup)!  I even dated a Mastermind in college!  And I in no way feel like gatekeeping my PUGs, but is it possible that there is such a thing as too many Masterminds on a team?  Exceptions of course for all-Mastermind teams, which I find hilarious.

 

As someone who is Team Mastermind since Day One.  (Yes, even with all the micromanaging and disadvantages) there is no such thing as "Too Many MM's"

 

I consistently run All-MM's TF's of all combos.  Doing an all-Thugs MM with people running Double Gang War (Gang War then Burnout then Gang War again) is glorious and hilarious because there is an epic battle taking place....but you can't see it!

 

Besides...it's a Yin TF.  No one needs to see where all the Mobs are.  I think most of the player base has that memorized.

As someone who was part of the first all MM mission and SF team on red side at launch with my ninja poison MM Id say the answer is no there is no limit

 

that was so much fun and such a train wreck in caves

One of my favourite Homecoming events was an all MM Baf....(lord forgive anyone who lets a prisoner escape in that..) the AV's HP melted in front of us...so more MM's than that I guess...
