  3. Currently using Red Widow as a -1 punching badge to finish off my Cataclysmic badge since we can't kill her. Though I suppose a faster way would be power level a char on my second account up to level 30, grab the mission to the end, then power them up to 50. Then do the mission at level 50 so that more damage done per hit. (At this point, I'm close enough to finish to just let my char finish up than take time to PL)
  4. Probably want to make the red side separate badges instead of just rebrand since you can do all six missions to unlock costumes. And then the unlock via Halloween salvage could be a separate badge as well, though you'd have to make it that people could still turn in salvage to get the badge if they already unlocked all the slots.

  8. Since Mids hasn't played very well with Linux lately, I don't do my builds with Mids. It's certainly possible and really just takes a bit of looking at what bonuses, etc.. are available using a wiki page. Mids makes it easier for a lot of people, but for tools I'd say I'd miss the most are vidiots and being able to make custom popmenus. As for getting things easier to port into the forums: Sounds like there's some BB Code that doesn't play well in the forums that Mids wants to use, but there are some work arounds already posted, so until mids fixes their end?

I'm still working on my red/blue character's progress. Done with Blue thru 19, Red thru 14. Snarky's tips have been helpful.

  14. Praetoria is full of gotchas. Several of your mission contacts get offed by future missions, and occasionally in the same level range. I think the wiki spells them out, but this guide spells out a good order to do them in: https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Apparition's_Complete_Guide_to_Praetoria One trick I found if you accidentally kill off someone that you need to talk to later, is to start that person's ouro arc, port to them. When you quit, they don't disappear and you can then talk to them.
  15. In some of the damaged areas, nearish Mongoose? I did the damage taken badge using this method. One thing I found was occasionally the fires go out, though iirc it was when I got disconnected. WP scrapper that had a high enough regen to sit in a dbl fire without help is good, but it still took almost a week. That badger is still working on the damage done badge. Less than 10m to go!
  16. Heh. I advertised a kill most +4 ITF yesterday. I knew my tank could handle the incoming, though holding agro can get dicey. I should have dropped it to +2 after the first mission, but did drop it to +3 after the second. Not enough DPS and not enough mitigation. We had to restart the last mission at +0 to finish, but we only lost one member while doing that and credit to the players that stuck around for two hours and 121 deaths. 😛 May try another one tonight, but making sure to bring a couple DPS units.
  17. iirc, there was a brief period where the xp/inf wasn't proportional at all with non-teamed members. Something about a low level char getting several levels out of doing a couple pips of damage against a high level mob. Now it's more proportional between teams, though I'd like to see it distributed thru leagues at some point. On original topic: You can get a decent idea of your own standing via the combat logs, but trying to compare to other members of your team, not great metrics. Even comparing the same AT can get a bit dicey with secondary power effects. If player A debuffs the resistance of a mob allowing player B to do more damage, what number gets added? And a lot of DPS is passively added by defense/health/stamina/recharge buffs allowing the damage dealers to not needing to pause their DPS to recover.
  18. I like to usually set expectations before starting the TF. For the most part unless I say +X, it's a +0, and will note speed, though like with Manticorp, it depends on the team setup. I've bumped difficulty up or down depending on first missions too on some TFs. When joining, I like knowing what to expect, though sometimes depends on what I'm playing.

  20. Vidiot maps. Making the glowie sound louder. Those are the must have. Some of the pop menus that are available. Never really used Mids and haven't gotten the latest to work with my Linux setup. Back on live I used herostats and recently worked up a parser, but it's barely off the ground yet.
  21. I've gotten in the habit of pulling hostage groups away from the hostage because of this popping up occasionally. A couple tip missions have similar issues though at least the latest didn't fail the mission when the hostage got blown up. (Rogue to Hero Flamebeoux blogging bit)
  22. I wonder if there could be a generic enhancement similar to the p2w ones you can get that go up to level 19? Extend something to 39 even? Something that would allow a character to be decently effective, but still pales againsts IOs? Of course, maybe we should just make training enhancements free and that way the new player can swap in more useful ones as they drop on them?
  23. Having minions crowd around you would help quite a few types of defenses: Shield, Inv, Willpower, heck most now that i think of it
  24. Radio missions that have a blinkie objective also require you to clear the room that the blinkie is a part of. Something that got added when people were breezing thru missions for the end XP. On regular missions there are quite a few stealth kill all missions.
