  1. 1: If you've got something buzzsawing it's way through capped Defenses, you're screwed. And maxed Resists aren't saving you. Like death patches and Praetorian BaBs.
  2. This is why I try to get people to gather at the top of the bowl, buff everyone into godhood, and THEN have everyone go down and whale on him.

  5. This will depend on whether or not you drag U'kon out of the bowl or gather, buff and zerg. If you drag, wait until the league has cleared the first group or two out of the bowl. Then summon in the bowl. If you zerg, wait for the zerg to finish clearing. Then summon.
  6. Put up with it? I think you've VASTLY overinvested emotionally on this. The devs didn't "leave the Defense crash out". That's revisionist history (aka LYING). The Defense crash ALWAYS WAS THERE. So if you ran Rage only single stacked, you got the Defense crash. There was simply a BUG that allowed for someone running double-stacked Rage to avoid the Defense crash. The game closed before they got around to fixing it. And yes, it's been 7 years. And you have NO idea how long that particular bug has been fixed on the SCORE server.

  8. I agree. Tough is merely a mandatory power pick that's just there to mule. OTOH, your pick of Unstoppable is a complete waste of a power pick. Yank it out and toss a 2 slotted Hasten in there. Also Punch <<< KICK! Punch is going to be generally useless in single slot anyhow. Kick, at least, you can toss in a proc that could, on occasion, bump your global Recharge for a short time.   11. Please elucidate how Rage "requires them to function". They're simply ONE avenue for dealing with the Rage crash. There are several to choose from. You're simply arguing that you shouldn't HAVE to deal with the crash because "you don't want to".
  12. You misunderstand. Follow Up doesn't come with a built-in +ToHit. If it lands, it provides 10% +ToHit and 30% +Damage It's essentially an attack that grants built-in Build Up effect. Recharge Time: 12s (+Hasten + Slotting down to around 5 seconds). Including activation times, the second attack will land some time AFTER 10 seconds. In which case, why are you not using Rage again, since the downtime is a mere 10 seconds? Do something auto-hit (like Taunt). Use something not affected by the Rage crash. WHATEVER. Oh wait. Again, you don't WANT TO. And the reason why I haven't answered why reduced damage (NOT "no damage") and an End crash isn't "enough" is because my answer is irrelevant. Dev intent was reduced damage, an End crash and a Defense crash. End of story. Me saying anything beyond that is as arbitrary as your reasons for NOT wanting it.
  13. Yep. And the last iteration of Rage on live was acknowledged to have a bug that allowed one to cheat the Defense crash. That, like the lag valley in the ITF and the inevitable crashing of Tyrant's personal mission have since been FIXED.

  17. I know all that +ToHit in Rage looks good. If you're running double-stacked Rage, you're fine. Two Recharge IOs will do ya. Move a slot from Maneuvers to Tough Skin. You gain more Defense from it. I dismantled Rage down to help you cap your S/L Resist. Sorry, ANY optimized Inv tank running LESS than 90% S/L Resist Is Doing It Wrong. This may just be my personal opinion but. I also moved the +Def uniques earlier in the build and added the "Scaling Resist" unique in there too. Also, grab yourself some Enhancement Boosters. +1 all your Defense and Defense/End enhancements. This will get you to 45% on E/N Defense.   18. Another possibility is a cheaper "traveling" build. Where attacks and armor are given back seat to absolute mobility (Flight, super-speed, teleportation, etc)
  19. OPINION. How long is a piece of string? Well! Since you can't seem to answer THAT simple question! Rage IS okay the way it is. There is a penalty for having perma-build-up. Who knew? And by "fix" you mean "change". Your sole argument for "fixing" it is "Well *I* don't like it! Well. *I* have no problem with Rage as it is now. A bug has been fixed that allowed you to cheat around one of Rage's weak points. Deal. The crash is non-trivial. But it is by NO means unmanageable. Your argument against this is "I don't WANT TO manage it!" Again, I say "Deal!" Changing it to work like Build Up/Aim would require management as well. Because, Rage is only broken according TO YOU. And yes, fixing it WOULD impact me. Because it would either reintroduce a bug or it would seriously change the set. Respectfully, politely, humbly, NO! Rage doesn't "require insps" to function normally. You just object to "normal" function and won't listen to any strategies meant to alleviate the downsides of normal function. Not sure what else to tell you.

  21. Now I only joined the game in 2008. But it did NOT work like that in 2008 or at any point after that. It was a damage crash and a defense crash that, because of the bug, was avoidable by stacking Rage.
  22. No offense. But turning off minimal logging is "unwise". As has been noted, you've now made it so that all moderation is nothing but arbitrary fudging by admins and mods over dueling hearsay. IP addresses are ephemeral enough in most cases as to be meaningless outside of a very short term. And a chat log would do some euro-censor no good. Especially if the server isn't being run from the EU.
  23. I already view Punch and Kick as essentially wastes of a power pick. I'm also not a huge fan of Cross Punch. I just find the need to essentially select BOTH useless pre-reqs to get it wasteful.
  24. We had about 16 of the 23 expected show. Fun was had by all. Service, busy as it was, was excellent. Hope to do it again next year.
