  1. Then do the research and come up with the actual math. As we know what opinions are like, and that everyone has one.
  2. Now I only joined the game in 2008. But it did NOT work like that in 2008 or at any point after that. It was a damage crash and a defense crash that, because of the bug, was avoidable by stacking Rage.
  3. No offense. But turning off minimal logging is "unwise". As has been noted, you've now made it so that all moderation is nothing but arbitrary fudging by admins and mods over dueling hearsay. IP addresses are ephemeral enough in most cases as to be meaningless outside of a very short term. And a chat log would do some euro-censor no good. Especially if the server isn't being run from the EU.
  4. I already view Punch and Kick as essentially wastes of a power pick. I'm also not a huge fan of Cross Punch. I just find the need to essentially select BOTH useless pre-reqs to get it wasteful.
  5. We had about 16 of the 23 expected show. Fun was had by all. Service, busy as it was, was excellent. Hope to do it again next year.
  6. The thing is, CoH has a history of being extremely friendly to casual play. There were multitudinous incidents of people leaving the game for weeks, months, even years sometimes, playing a bunch of other things, then coming back to CoH. So, if you're gonna go off and fiddle with another game for a while? Cool. We'll still be here when you get back!

  8. You've compromised your Defenses for that giant flipping gob of Psi Resist. Still. If you find yourself fighting Carnies and the like, rock it! Your attacks aren't QUITE as well slotted as I'd choose.
  9. Why so surprised? I'm one of the guys running Catalyst Game Labs (BattleTech, Shadowrun, etc).
  10. Even including Boxing and Brawl, you're still going to have lots of trouble killing high level enemies that attack chain.

  12. Okay. We know what you've lost. But what do you GAIN out of this build? You're no tougher than another Inv Brute running Rage. And you're taking longer to kill stuff because you hit less often (mathematically) and are doing less damage.
  13. On an end build, this is feasible. However, depending on how it's build, one could be sacrificing a bit of Defense in the name of more Recharge.

  17. Yeah. I used to have that problem with my Fire/Fire. I'd go into a mission with two Tanks. They'd engage, draw aggro, and then I'd come in. This would basically rip all their aggro away and cause the groups to Alpha me... And I had a nice, ultra-high recharge, perma-sniper... ...who couldn't seem to stop noshing floor... Will eake you out just a scotch more F/C Resist. Not sure if the Kismet will work for you in Grant Cover. Honestly? A single Gift of The Ancients +Run Speed is something of a waste. With Sprint and Swift turned on, you get +135% Run Speed...UNSLOTTED. Slotted with Generic Run IOs? +171% +7.5% is a JOKE. Also, you forgot to turn off the FF Proc in Kick (click on the green bubble). It adds 100% +Rech that is NOT going to be there much, if at all. Rage: If you're just dropping Recharge-only IOs in, don't bother wasting money on the Recharge-only IO from a ToHit set. Just dump in Generic IOs in. Stamina: Forget the set bonuses for Stamina. Efficient slotting for Stamina, Superior Conditioning, and any other set powers that function as always-on Recovery Boosters is Perf Shifter +End and EndMod. Maximal would simply add a generic EndMod on. Going with L20 sets, which don't have much in the way of really decent bonuses, just shoots you in the foot. Positioning of Steadfast Res/Def and Gladiator's Armor +3% Def is VERY not-optimal. Basically, in the *HEEHAW!* end of the build, you'll lose the effect EVERY TIME YOU EXEMP. Leave the Psi Resist in the default slot. Stick them up in Deflection. Yes. You lose some E/N Resist and some Melee Defense.   22. The Rage Crash "issue" is a mountain made of a molehill (made by a very runty mole). The game makes multiple mitigation schemes possible. Also, 10 seconds is an incredibly short duration and NOWHERE in the game are you REQUIRED to run soft-cap 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Look at his build. He's soft-capped to all three positionals. And this is BEFORE Phalanx Fighting. Get three (THREE!) allies (not teammates, ALLIES) in range and he's essentially INCARNATE SOFT-CAPPED to all positionals. Please stop trying to talk someone out of a build they're having fun with because you have "philosophical" problems with a single power.
  23. On your build (once I actually figured out it was a data link and not a data chunk). I'm just philosophically opposed to using Obliteration due to it's *BLEEP!* End Redux. Shield Charge and Foot Stomp aren't bad if used ONCE each. But they're coming up fast enough that they should be getting used REGULARLY when beating down a large group. And that lack of End Redux is gonna HURT. Foot Stomp is up more often than Knockout Blow is. And costs half-again the Endurance. Shield Charge is more in line with KOB with a 4x long recharge.
