Masterminds have wanted changes for years now.

I haven't seen you infringing, so there's no need to. No, your little dig at me was. It's not about "creative faculties" and never has been - you are not, according to the terms of playing Homecoming, permitted to copy any existing IP, full stop. If all you did was create a costume in the editor but never brought them into the game, no one would care. All I suggested was how you could be safe by creating an "inspired by" character instead of a direct copy...
-
Great costume! How'd you get the Egyptian headpiece with only the trim being colored? Doesn't it usually have striped bands?
-
But in a way, you agreed to not infringe by signing up/creating an account for Homecoming. Their reason for having that policy in place is not your concern - you agreed to it by joining, so you are bound to it. When you attack the person instead of the argument, you have basically lost the argument. I don't think people are saying to harass the person with the infringing name - only to report them and move on. The policy against infringing has been and continues to be in place. Report, then move along. At the same time, if you are the one with said infringing name/character, you have no leg to stand on with regard to getting generic'd.

So I have a 50 illusion/trick arrow controller. She is very powerful. For me, the key powers are acid arrow and disruption arrow. The impart a -RES debuff in an area and have good uptime. Entangling arrow also applies a -RES effect, but it's only to a single target. Still, vs an AV, those debuffs really add up. Most of the other powers, while having their uses, pale in comparison to those 3, IMHO.

I'm curious - have you ever created your own intellectual property, and if so, do you have any interest in actually being able to control/own it? If not, then carry on and I hope you never run up against anyone who actually would prosecute you, should you infringe upon theirs. And yet here you are, doing just that. But you know what *is* an actual way to stretch your creativity - create an homage to an existing character without flat-out copying them. Are you arguing that it's ok to infringe on other people's intellectual property if the ability to do so exists? Just because you *can* do something doesn't mean you should. There is a pretty distinct difference between a "Karen", (which I define as a person trying to enforce rules that either don't exist, or that they don't have the authority to do), and simply reporting someone who is violating a rule to the proper authorities, and letting them handle it...

Music instruments as backpacks?
biostem replied to DevonXavier2006's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
While I agree in general, my only concern would be having to create the models and/or trying to adapt ones that may already exist within the game. Also, if we won't actually be able to utilize them, it might be a weird break from things... -
One thing that confused me:
-
As an option, sounds good! Again, as an option I'm all for it. I, personally, wouldn't use it, because there are many times where a team member may be defeated either through no fault of their own, or as a result of someone else. This would mean that the person could lose their ability to participate in the TF due to someone else's (in)action. I suppose since it's an option, then everyone taking part would know what they're getting into ahead of time - maybe have an extra popup upon starting, to drive the point home. Maybe do something like no hospital, no awakens - only ally or self rez powers.

Even if you scaled Skulls or Hellions to be 50+, do those enemies have enough attacks/resistances to be on par with "genuine" 50+ enemies? I'm not against the suggestion per se, but will a Skull with a pistol attack and brawl really a worthy challenge? EDIT: This would be a great opportunity to come up with some higher-level Skulls, Hellions, Vahzilok, Prime Earth Clockwork, etc...

What do the devs want (what what what what)?
biostem replied to Yomo Kimyata's topic in General Discussion
You coach your OP with wishy-washy terms like "I assume" and "probably". If you had interacted with their various threads on the Beta forum, then just point to their direct comments on the matter. instead, you portray a series of leading and/or hypothetical statements, trying to spin this as some contemplative exercise. Don't speak for the devs - just point to what they say/said... -

Seemed like naval-gazing to me... -
What do the devs want (what what what what)?
biostem replied to Yomo Kimyata's topic in General Discussion
Have you thought about engaging with them on the various focused feedback threads? Seems kind of counter-productive to do your naval-gazing here well after the fact... -
You'll get the occasional musical riff or beat as you're traveling around in some zones. You can even trigger some to play on demand with the boombox emote. Try some of these in-game...

It would necessitate that players accept a fair bit of stretching and warping of the skirt/dress model. I mean, some of the longer skirts we already have access to do this - it'd just be even more obvious with such a long piece...

Because of the nature of higher-level play, a ~10-15% increase in damage, IMHO, works out to be much less in practice. Additional, (and please correct m e if I'm wrong), but I think that bonus only applies to the base damage of powers, not taking into account enhancements or other buffs. To that end, and seeing how it can't accept anything besides end redux or recharge, I'd like to see it get some buffs: 1. It kind of makes sense that directing your team to attack "harder" might make them resistant to slow or immobilize effects. 2. Perhaps pushing full on offense might offer a little damage resistance or absorb to your team, as they work through minor injuries. 3. Perhaps driving your team to focus on attack might make them more able to bypass an enemy's defenses, (defense debuff applied to enemies in range). 4. Similar to the above, it could impart a minor damage resistance debuff to said enemies. 5. Finally, being driven to attack might make your team less apt to be blinded or knocked aside, (minor perception debuff resistance and/or some degree of knockback resistance or protection). I'm not saying Assault should get all of these buffs, but I think it should get one or maybe even a few. Your thoughts? Thanks for reading!

Travel Power options for path auras?
biostem replied to TerminusEst13's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I would really love more conditional options for all auras - out of combat only, while travel power is active, and so on. -
Just throwing this out there: Level Lock AE
biostem replied to Sakura Tenshi's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I wholeheartedly agree. For one thing, I think all objectives (glowies or hostages) should be marked on the map, (make it an option you can toggle if so desired). Mission doors should be fairly close for those levels where the character may not have a travel power, (let's say below 12 or maybe even 20). The concept of "kill all" should be reduced to "defeat 75%" or something, and so on... -
Just throwing this out there: Level Lock AE
biostem replied to Sakura Tenshi's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I think all you'll do is push people toward the next FotM way to PL up to whenever AE becomes available; We'll probably see a return of the Portal Corp Warwolf farms, or just PI radios. I think you're trying to address a symptom, instead of the root cause - make low level content more rewarding and easier to access. Even if you tripled the XP for those early, you'd still be lacking the convenience. I could maaaaaaaaybe see this as an account limitation, and once you get 1 character to level 20, the AE becomes available to all future characters, but even then, I'd prefer to simply not restrict content to anybody... -
Frankly, I think buying SOs is a waste. I either use whatever drops, or I craft level 25 IOs ASAP and just leave them in, as I view the sub-50 game as a "leveling build" and typically respec or switch to a different build at that point. If you're low on Inf, run a couple tunnel farms, then buy and sell a couple pieces of orange salvage, load up on common white salvage, then craft those 25 IOs. While I do try to balance my offense and defense on my stalkers, I tend to make putting 2 accs in all my attacks a priority, (a missed attack is wasted damage, time, and end), then 1 or more damages if there are enough slots left over. I would rather leave the base slot in my defensive abilities at first, (as a stalker), until I have enough slots to get a good foundation down.

I keep telling myself that it was a limitation of the game engine/design as to why our villains always felt like someone else's underling/lieutenant, rather than a "self-made man", as it were. That being said, the signature heroes basically embody existing powers instead of the more specialized/unique focus that the Arachnos patrons embody - Mu, Leviathan, Soul, & Arachnos tech...

Proposal for Regular Content Rewards Buff
biostem replied to Andreah's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
I think this would backfire. I think many people want to play a "fully realized" character in the 50+ content. I think many of us, if not most of us, are veterans from the live days, who have already "paid our dues" the old-fashioned way, and would rather play our 50s that didn't take a lifetime to attain... -
Proposal for Regular Content Rewards Buff
biostem replied to Andreah's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Sometimes you fail a mission - sometimes you have to read the mission description and adapt your strategy. There are plenty "kill all" missions to go 'round...
