So what one person thinks of as "fun" is very subjective. That being said, the update to necromancy makes them quite powerful AND fun. The 3 blast attacks at are part of the primary can now also summon temporary minions, so you can do some direct attacks AND get more pets into the fray. With that being said, and while I fully admit to loving kinetics, I'd also like to advocate for cold domination or sonic resonance as great secondaries. If you're looking for something with a bit of a different feel, ninjas/trick arrow or ninjas/poison are quite fun as well. lastly, beasts/elec can be surprisingly effective and fun as well!

Actually, what I would rather see would be a set of level 4 or 5 generic IOs as the "welcome package" - maybe something like a set of 10 vouchers that you can trade in for basic IOs of your choice.

I done goofed! Thank you for pointing it out, @Rudra.

so warshades do not fly? so confused. they squid crawl and tp?
biostem replied to Snarky's topic in Peacebringer & Warshade
They don't fly... they just fall with style!!! -
I really like savage melee, so where do we go from here?

How about we allow the team leader to preset a little questionnaire that anyone requesting to join their team has to take, in order to demonstrate some arbitrary level of competency before they are allowed to join... 🤪
-
Well, I wanted to introduce something new, but keep it fairly simple to implement, hence just allowing the choice of the opposite secondary set...

There may be more to the lore in-game, but the wiki states: "Nictus are Kheldians who, when faced with the short native lifespan of the Kheldian people, turned to science and changed themselves into beings of darkness. They feed off of life energy, and were at one point able to siphon the life force of the Kheldians from great distances." My point is that you could have a Kheldian that began the process to transform themselves into a Nictus, and either had a change of heart partway through, or it was otherwise interrupted, thereby only partially changing them. The player can then come up with whatever backstory they want to explain how they came to inhabit their current host...

Fallout Tv Series (Amazon Prime)
biostem replied to Frostbiter's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
Both Mad Max and its sequel (The Road Warrior) predate that, and they seem to be more of an inspiration than the movie you mentioned... -
Oof! That's gonna be one heck of an uphill battle. Hmm... then the investment in those kb->kd IOs may be worth it. Lots of soft control there...
-
Unless you plan on investing in several KB->KD IOs, I'd go Warshade. Also, while toggles from human form don't carry over to Nova form, a click effect like hasten does, making such powers really useful! Are you open to at least some form switching? You could drop to human and use sunless mire, black dwarf mire, and dark extraction, too...

In addition to NOT being autohit, it doesn't have the -range effect, meaning that while you do get the enemy's ire, they don't have to close the distance with you...

Yet another travel power pool suggestion - with a twist!
biostem replied to biostem's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
It'd probably have to be some sort of "loose power" that you could pick, or maybe only becomes available as a pick within the pool after you've already picked your free one... -
So do the powers in the other sets that doms & controllers both have access to, deal different amount of damage as well? If so, are they in line with this discrepancy?
-
I don't know if you can reconcile the 2 schools of thought: "I have the most fun whilst playing the 50+ content" vs "Each 50 should be earned". Related, or possibly intrinsic to this argument, is whether any degree of gatekeeping should exist between character creation and the endgame. Even if you get PL'd to 50, it's some time that you must choose to invest in the process.
-
I mean... that's kind of in line with the kind of behavior I'd expect from them, though.

Yet another travel power pool suggestion - with a twist!
biostem replied to biostem's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Hmm... that's a good question. I hadn't thought of that. I suppose it could be a "1st one's free" kind of thing, then you'd need to spend a regular power pick for additional ones... -
Yet another travel power pool suggestion - with a twist!
biostem replied to biostem's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
No. You get to pick 1 of super jump, flight, teleport, or fly for free. Going with your example, you choose to use one of your regular power picks on combat jumping. You can also use a power pick to select double jump, which you could then use by itself, with sprint, with combat jumping, or with super jump... -
Yet another travel power pool suggestion - with a twist!
biostem replied to biostem's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
So you'd get a travel power for free. The extra powers and such would take their place in the respective pools. This would free people from feeling forced/imposed to take a travel power, while also expanding how those newer powers, (like double jump), could be used... -
Yet another travel power pool suggestion - with a twist!
biostem replied to biostem's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
No, separate the "bonus" power that was added to the travel powers, (afterburner, etc), put them into the pool as their own item, but broaden their use a bit, then remove the actual travel powers from their respective pools, but have 1 be available for free at level 4. So, for instance, I could take fly as my free power, but later use power picks to dip into the speed pool and opt to take speed phase, which I could use apart from super speed. -
Yeah, yeah, I know there're a bunch of these already, but mine is different! I swear! So here's the idea - take the main travel power from each of the core travel power pools, (flight, leaping, teleportation, and speed), and remove them. In their place, put in the "bonus" power that was granted for each, (afterburner, double jump, etc), but expanded to work outside of the powers they were previously tied to - so you could double-jump even with no other powers on, or afterburner could work on mystic flight, etc. For teleportation, you may need a new power. Then, at level 4, you get one of the core travel powers for free. There would have to be some balance considerations, though - maybe don't allow io sets to be used in the free power. Your thoughts? Thanks for reading!

Besides sets that include some form of end recovery power(s), how do you folks address bottoming-out? I use panacea/miracle/numina's when able, and also take victory rush if the build allows, but what other options are out there? Do you slot lots of end redux? Simply slow your attack/buff/heal rate? Any insight would be helpful. Thanks!

The "tether" is Arachnos itself - in other words, either she has some unfinished business in the material world, or the Arachnos organization, (possibly Lord recluse, but not necessarily), is exerting some sort of influence or control that prevented her soul from leaving... As for Numina, she was already outside of her body, which was then killed/died. I would assume that lacking a physical body is more of an inconvenience for her, (she probably misses being able to eat or touch anyone). This is just some conjecture, but there may also be some concern as to how long her astral projection can sustain itself. It's also tough in the CoH setting, as magic and psionics are not clearly defined, and may in fact be 2 sides of the same coin...

Auto-Kick from League for Being AFK Too Long
biostem replied to Clave Dark 5's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
So target a teammate -> autofire a power. There is no "one size fits all" solution. An attentive league or team leader is the best solution. I would prefer the ability to have the league leader appoint a few deputies, thereby granting them some ability to kick anyone deemed to be leeching, (obviously a degree of trust in those people would be required).
