Knocked down many times, but always getting back up, she is "Battle-Scarred": battle-scarred3.costume

I went with a little red in the costume, but please feel free to tailor it to your liking: ann ionic1.costume

Copy-paste your combat log for each character, for a similar length of play and versus similar mobs, so we have an objective way of evaluating your claim...

So I had many level 50 characters back on live. I love CoH, but I find myself spending more time creating new costumes and trying out different powerset combinations, than I do getting any character to a high level. To-date, I don't think I've gotten any character through the Incarnate content. I see someone else's costume, or I get inspired to try out a particular build, and I run off to whip up a costume and get to playing it. I get the character to the teens or mid-20s, and quickly lose interest. I want to stick with just one character, but cannot seem to get through the slog of the higher levels. Do any of you folks have a particular approach or mindset that you get yourselves into, in order to complete that journey to 50 and beyond? Thanks for reading!

I've never been a fan of locking costume pieces behind certain achievements or such, except maybe some faction logos/symbols.

I'm somewhat confused by your post - play the game if you find it fun, and stop whenever it ceases to be so. A large portion of the story arcs are self-contained, and indeed do conclude. There are some over-arching stories that were never concluded, (I think there was going to be more Incarnate content, Primordials, etc, that wasn't completed), but that doesn't mean what we do have cannot be thoroughly enjoyed...

Agreed, and this is the crux of why there is such a divide; If you agree to create an account and play someone else's game, then you implicitly agree to defer the enforcement of rules and/or punishment for infractions to a 3rd party. You can, of course, do whatever you want outside of the game, but it seems to me that, unless you have direct experience of a person misbehaving in-game, then to do anything like adopt someone else's blacklist puts YOU squarely in the wrong...

May I ask what emote or command you used to get that middle pose? Thanks!

There's a similarly cool pose for dual pistols and many other weapon-based powersets. I wouldn't be surprised if the devs added them in specifically for the costume creator...

issue 27 Patch Notes for November 30th, 2021
biostem replied to The Curator's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
Thanks, Naomi! I deleted the files you mentioned and tried again, but it didn't work. Regardless, the new launcher DOES work, so I'll stick with that. Thanks again! -
I really like how this one turned out. Taking inspiration from Crystal, I present to you "Searrate": searrate3.costume

issue 27 Patch Notes for November 30th, 2021
biostem replied to The Curator's topic in Patch Notes Discussion
Since this latest patch, tequila goes through a quick "downloading" progress bar at the bottom, then a 2nd one starts, and at about halfway through, it just closes out. I've tried running it as the administrator just to be sure, but it still happens. Can anyone suggest a remedy for this issue? Thank you in advance! EDIT: I've tried running it in compatibility mode for Windows 8, 7, and XP SP3, but am still encountering the same issue... 2nd EDIT: I've downloaded the HCLauncher and reinstalled the game to a new directory, and it's working. Has Tequila support been discontinued? -
Typically, a vial holds chemicals, but what happens if you produce all manner of toxins internally, and you choose to use them toward your own nefarious ends? The answer is that YOU become "The Vile Vial": vile vial2.costume

Microsoft gaming chief calls for industry-wide game preservation
biostem replied to Hyperstrike's topic in Video Games
I just hope, if this comes to pass, that they don't decide to "fix" any portions of older games that they deem "problematic", or do things like inject modern ads or other such adjustments... -
My main concern is that there doesn't seem to be the drive to allow players to make original characters anymore. I imagine that they'd probably have you play existing characters, perhaps recolored or in alternate outfits, to distinguish your Captain America from everyone else's...

I think the OP is asking to EDIT the costume without having to go to the Tailor/Facemaker, and not just change costume slots...

Perhaps great minds think alike, as I, too, rolled a seismic/temporal blaster - "Geologic-Time": geologic-time5.costume

What Character Concept Could You NOT Get to Work?
biostem replied to Lunglescrops's topic in General Discussion
Something to consider might be super reflexes - not so much to represent agility or skill, but Joker's dumb luck to avoid the most damaging attacks against him, (but when an attack does get through, it usually sends him reeling). Perhaps a dual pistol or assault rifle / super reflexes sentinel. Add in a few powers from experimentation to represent his joker toxin/gas... -
Power customization with different models
biostem replied to plainguy's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Even if they kept the same core animation, only replacing the gadget with a crystal, skull, book, etc. I'd also love to be able to select the "energy morph" costume change emote for build-up or aim type powers. It'd be cool if you could use the "plant blaster" from corrosive enzymes for some blast attacks or other powers. Assuming the timing could be made to match, imagine how awesome it would be to have the hawk from the same-named beast mastery power explode into a fireball or something, upon reaching the target! -
Still on a goblin kick, but now with new and improved shock powers! "Shockin' Toxin" (Poison/Elec Def):
