  1. That's part of it. Another is convenience and other QoL stuff. For instance, having to hunt around a big map for a glowie can be really frustrating. They added the reveal of the last one some time ago, but a general mechanic that reveals them as you defeat enemies or if any should simply appear in your field of vision would be a big help. Maybe trimming down some of the kill-all or multi-zone arcs would help as well...
  2. There is definitely a curve regarding how long people are willing to work toward unlocking something in-game. For instance, I didn't realize at first that you could use threads to progress your Alpha slot ability, and on my first incarnate, it was frustratingly slow-going, and when I finally got to T3, I all but gave up. It's also why I almost never bother looking at the T9 of my primary, as it'll probably be the least used ability, and if the rest of the set is "meh", then I'm not gonna put in the time, (excepting things like MM T9s or controller pets).
  3. I've run into 2 situations where this happens: 1. An incarnate ability is still recharging, in which case, you can simply view its recharge time in the power tray. 2. You are in combat or in an instance that flags you as in combat, and must leave said instance. I could be wrong, but I believe there is some back-end reason why being in certain instances flags you as in combat simply because your teammates are...
  4. Toggles that affect enemies exhibit this behavior. Beta Decay from radiation armor also does this if you get mezzed. That being said, I believe a toggle rework is in the upcoming patch that addresses this...
  5. Maybe we need an EB -> Boss option, like we have for AVs...
  6. Been there. I find it a hassle to respec, and will often stick with a build if it's "good enough". Having gotten into the IO/set-bonus "meta game" only recently in my time playing CoH, this adds yet another layer of complexity to consider; A power may not be that useful on its own, but if it can accept some great procs or a particular set bonus I'm after, it bears consideration. TBH, I lean more toward thematic builds, but will generally devote 1 of my builds to a higher-performance build...
  7. You are conflating "multiplayer" with "must team". Your use of the phrase "easy mode single-player game" is also misleading - playing solo =/= wanting a single player game. Plenty of folks choose to do their leveling up solo, while partaking in TFs, trials, or even RP as their multiplayer experience. Similarly, many people simply don't want to involve others in the IO or auction house meta aspects of the game, choosing to instead enjoy the fruits of that labor in the aforementioned trials, TFs, or other post-50 content. Finally, there are many ways to play chess without any other people involved, as well as there being ways to tailor the challenge level. Heck, even at the more advanced levels, chess has undergone many changes that weren't in place when the game was in its infancy. What's funny is that the 1st Guild Wars did actually offer NPCs that you could "hire" in case you couldn't fill your team, or just wanted to solo...
  8. I'm all for revamping the TF, but if your PC or internet connection has an issue running an 18 year old game, even on low settings, then maybe address that 1st...
  9. I am concerned because Cassian's character arc in Rogue One was that he went from a ruthless Rebel agent who basically used his contacts and allies to achieve his ends, into someone who earnestly cared for his compatriots and the cause he was fighting for. What change can we or should we see in this series? Perhaps him going from an idealistic and hopeful "we can save the galaxy" type into the cynical pragmatist he ends up as?
  10. My bad. I though you just wanted to click their name -> gift the insp. Sorry for the confusion.
  11. There are potential issues/exploits with being able to gift inspirations from such a distance. You could always target them from the league window, hit follow, then gift it to them...
  12. I think if you have someone targeted, you can right click an inspiration and choose the "give to ___" option. You have to be fairly close to them, though...
  13. The Lost are kind of like the Morlocks, (only with induced changes instead of "natural" mutations). The Outcasts could kind of be viewed as the Brotherhood (of Evil) Mutants. The Malta Operatives are kind of an evil version of G.I. Joe.
  14. Do you mean having the game spawn an "Abyss 2" or something, or do you mean some sort of queueable closed instanced, where players would form a league, then the leader could begin the instance/raid, (sort of like how some iTrial content works)?
  15. I've very much enjoyed savage melee on my tankers. I've gotten bio armor and radiation into incarnates, and radiation armor seems a lot beefier. I'm have a lot of fun with my dual pistols/radiation armor sentinel as well. My kin/sonic defender is also quite fun to play.
  16. Would you be able to tell me if end mods will be allowed or if that part will just be removed? Thx again!
  17. So particle shielding from radiation armor says it accepts endurance modification enhancements, but the power description says that the end buff ignores buffs & enhancements. Is there something I'm missing? Will end mod enh's do nothing if slotted? Thanks!
  18. One of the biggest issues I have with the sounds is how, if I want to be able to hear glowies, and happen to have mystic flight on, there's this loud wooshing sound with even the slightest of movements. Just as we have a 'minimal' option for the FX, I'd love such an option for the sound as well...
  19. I'm not disputing that it doesn't "function as designed", but the 2 pieces of your statement are not mutually exclusive. Saying that a power grants an X% damage buff does not, for the layman, equate to seeing the final damage number being X% higher.
  20. What if you disallowed mobile enemy spawns and only allowed user-placed fixed ones? It'd limit the types of stories you could realize, but you'd now how limitless custom maps at your disposal...
  21. Good points. As for how they'd be chosen - maybe allow players to load them like they do custom NPCs? It'd not be a small feat, I admit...
  22. I've seen some truly remarkable SG bases, and I've always thought that some would make really awesome maps for AE missions. I realize there would be the potential for "trap maps", but you could add a stipulation that such maps are prohibited and able to be reported, or something. You'd also have to come up with some random or procedural method of placing enemy spawns/locations. Your thoughts?
  23. Some people imbue a lot of creativity into their characters. Whether that is in the form of a detailed backstory or every jot and tittle pertaining to each freckle on their body is up to the player. Yes, some people "overshare", but no one made you read their bio, afterall. I find that the better players, (or at least ones with more foresight), tend to divide their bios into sections - basic info and pertinent details are at the top, and the more risque stuff is toward the bottom, often with section headings...
  24. I never discounted that. It's all about *perception* - someone sees a farmer apparently roflstomp their way from one farm to the next, not realizing how long it took them to tailor that character to excel in that environment or what sacrifices had to be made toward that goal. I'm just trying to point out that greed/envy or just what a lack of information can do to people...
  25. It's not the wealth gap that I was referring to - it's a broader "player A has character B that can outperform my character, who I've put all this time into" type of thing. And even then, in what way a character can be deemed to "outperform" another is very subjective - is it their AT? That particular build? IOs? Incarnates?
