Things you enjoy that other people seem to not enjoy
biostem replied to Yomo Kimyata's topic in General Discussion
Discounting the nostalgia about being at a particular point in my life when CoH first launched, there's a deliberate pace and feel to this game that seems absent in others. There's also a tremendous freedom of movement, as opposed to other games, where a waist-high fence can completely stop you in your tracks. I also like how, aesthetically, this game strikes a great balance between realism and its comic-book inspirations, without dipping into the uncanny valley.- 79 replies

Where are you coming to this conclusion from? From 1 bad interaction with a particular SG? Don't you think it's a little soon to be jumping the gun? Look at your post objectively - imagine you were running a SG and someone came and posted what you did - seems a lot like a "woe is me" kind of post. Go through the proper channels, plead your case, present your evidence, and move on...

It's basically the same angst/woes that a D2 necromancer, or any character that relies on bodies/corpses encounters during a long boss fight, with no adds around to replenish their hoards...

I don't have a complete set put together, but I think it'd be cool to have a sort of "draining" blast set, which uses the various kinetics effects, where you extend your hand, then draw it back as the animation goes from the enemy to you. Maybe have it deal cold & negative energy damage, with the special effect of the set being a -secondary effect debuff. The aim power could cause the user to also gain a +secondary effect from the attacks, while the former is in effect.

Fallout Tv Series (Amazon Prime)
biostem replied to Frostbiter's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
Building the world of Fallout for those not already familiar with it can be tricky - spend too much time and the "now" where the series actually takes place in gets muddied, but spend too little time and people ask questions about why cars look like those of the 50s, yet it's actually set after 2077... -

Fallout Tv Series (Amazon Prime)

I think a lot also depends upon what this particular vault's experiment will be, (if there is one). It'd be interesting if these dwellers were pre-war, but there were also pics of a Super Duper Mart, which looked like it had been abandoned for many years/decades... -
Then the question is whether Deadpool will be "the" one from the other movies and/or whether they'll move him to the MCU - perhaps some sort of dimensional shift, like they did with Eddie Brock at the end of Let there be Carnage...
-
Now I wonder if this will be a pre- or post-Logan Wolverine. Maybe DP uses Cable's time device and pulls him out before his death or something? It'd be cool to see X-23 hanging out with Negasonic and Yukio...

Fallout Tv Series (Amazon Prime)
biostem replied to Frostbiter's topic in Comic, Hero & Villain Culture
There were some set pics leaked, as well as a partial power armor frame. It looks promising. I'm a huge fan, and apparently it'll be centered around a new vault. I'm going to remain cautiously optimistic... -
Completing the patron arc that unlocks the patron pools also directs you to go to Nerva to respec.

OP, I'm not sure that you are going to get any satisfaction, here - an RP group rejected your application for "reasons" that you do not agree with and/or claim are fabricated. This is not the purview of the devs to address, and even if it was, you would do so via a support ticket to a GM or moderator.

I'm also guessing "no". Frankly, if the intent is that you should be wearing a "costume" when trick-or-treating, then pretty much any character should qualify, regardless of whether they have one of the Halloween temp powers equipped, but if it's just for the latter, then there's your answer...

I hope hope hope Disney doesn't hamstring the film. I also wonder how much or how little this will play into the MCU Phase 4 stuff, (if at all).

So after having finally gotten almost every AT into Incarnates, one thing that has come to my realization is that I prefer to play a character that can provide some benefit to their team, besides damage. Yes, I know that "a defeated mob can't harm anybody", but I'm referring more to mid-fight kind of stuff. To that end, what I have found is a particular love of radiation armor and how Ground Zero heals your allies. On my tankers, it also serves to draw even more aggro to them, and on my sentinels, it supplements Warmth or Rehabilitating Circuit. I like the powerful buffs defenders, corruptors, and controllers bring to the table, but it's much more difficult to lead a team from the front with one of them, (excepting a few specialized builds). What are your thoughts on a frontline leader or "Do-anything AT"? Thanks for reading!

A set of combat auras that are shields would be great for this...

Audio or character model cues for low health/end
biostem replied to biostem's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
By that I meant something on or around your actual character - like a pulsing red outline if low on health, a pulsing blue one if low on end, or something similar. -
Audio or character model cues for low health/end
biostem replied to biostem's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
There is a "show health bars" option, but then every target has health & end bars over their heads. It's still *something*, so there's that... -
Yes, mistells are a thing- it's just part of a direct-message system from a chat window which can scroll by quickly. As I mentioned, you'd also need to include an option to disable such "invite yourself" features...
-
I wonder if a better option would be some sort of "request invite" option, where a team leader would simply get a popup like "biostem would like to join your team [Yes]/[No]". Of course, this would also need an option to disable it, so people couldn't grief or abuse team leaders...
-
That was my main concern - the issue is, there's no way to have a macro send a PM to the last person who sent a message in the lfg chat, directly. I only suggested it as a possible option, but it's far from ideal...
-
So for people who may have some visual impairments or other issues with frequently shifting focus around the screen, how about some sort of option to have an audio or character model-centric visual cue for when you are low on health or end. Additionally, it would be a nice feature to be able to set a sort of "floor" for yourself regarding end usage. What I mean by that is that I could, as an option, set a lower limit for myself of, say, 10% of my end bar, where if I get to that point, I won't be able to use any active powers whose activation would take me below that threshold. End drain effects or power crashes would ignore this limit. This could also trigger some sort of audible or visual notification. Your thoughts? Thanks for reading!

I don't think it'd be that hard per se, but the issue is that the animation would still have you reach down, grab at the ground, then throw the object, which would look weird. The rock also doesn't persist like propel's does...
-
This is generally what I do. I think a simpler option, though, would be a simple "shuffle" option, that basically generates another 3, (just have the game pick one, abandon it, then select another set in the background).

Trying to find the easiest build for an impaired player
biostem replied to sutasafaia's topic in Tanker
What about willpower as your primary and savage melee as your secondary? As you mentioned, willpower has a lot of "set it and forget it" powers, and with savage melee, while there is a set mechanic, it kind of rewards you for *not* utilizing it - you get stacking endurance cost and recharge time reductions from building up stacks of blood frenzy, and if you don't worry about using the powers that consume those stacks once you have 5 of them, you can continue to benefit from those buffs. Further, its ultimate power, savage leap, is a fairly quick-recharging power, (by tier 9 standards anyway), which allows you to quickly and easily close the distance to an enemy, and deal some AoE damage in the process. Use it in conjunction with a bind or macro to quickly and easily target the nearest enemy, and you have a convenient way to getting yourself to the next group of enemies. There's also very little downtime with this set. I tend to like this powerset with radiation armor, but I see no reason it couldn't work well with willpower...
