What is Meant by "Weak" or "Underperforming" Powersets?
biostem replied to Waljoricar's topic in General Discussion
For sets like ice armor and energy aura, my main approach is to really leverage energy absorption or energy drain, and to just use them for the defense buff... -
TBH, even that may not be enough, especially if we want to monitor typed or positional defense, Also, maybe being able to have said stats in more than 1 windows...

What is Meant by "Weak" or "Underperforming" Powersets?
biostem replied to Waljoricar's topic in General Discussion
You'll get no argument from me - Besides hating running out of end, I rarely make what would be considered "min-maxed" or even optimized builds... -
What!? No "Heart" element!? Thumbs downed!!!! 😝

Here's a useful link for them, but be forewarned that they can be expensive on the auction house... https://homecoming.wiki/wiki/Set_Enhancements_with_Special_Effects -
What is Meant by "Weak" or "Underperforming" Powersets?
biostem replied to Waljoricar's topic in General Discussion
There are ways to mitigate this, if you're willing to delve into a slightly more advanced aspect of the game. Namely, the panacea, miracle, numina's, and performance shifter unique IOs... -
A re-look at Stealth going away when you do something
biostem replied to DrRocket's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
Well, I have to assume that there is *some* coding that transitions them from not detecting an enemy to actually engaging them, so a generic "pause some random fraction-second before reacting" could be inserted. The question is whether that would interfere with other aspects of the game... -

I guess I missed that part. In which case, yeah - you can be successful with any set... -
What is Meant by "Weak" or "Underperforming" Powersets?
biostem replied to Waljoricar's topic in General Discussion
I don't think that's in dispute. What is, however, is where powerset A can solo +4/x8 with little to no aid form set bonuses or other such power pools, while powerset B can do so with said additions, and powerset C *can't* do that, even with that assistance... -
A re-look at Stealth going away when you do something
biostem replied to DrRocket's topic in Suggestions & Feedback
The problem is, as far as the game is concerned, the power *has* hit or missed the moment you activate the power - the animation and enemy reacting as merely secondary effects. That being said, I, personally, would like to see some variable amount of "reaction time", which would be an actual pause or delay, before enemies can actually respond to your attacks... -
I think a large part of why GMs don't move around too much is that NPC pathing doesn't handle overly large characters very well, and you'd end up with them clipping into buildings or the like...

What is Meant by "Weak" or "Underperforming" Powersets?
biostem replied to Waljoricar's topic in General Discussion
At least for me, I mean that, when compared to other sets for any given AT, said set(s) cannot accomplish the same feats - whether those metrics are durability, time to defeat X mobs, availability or ease of use of powers, usefulness of a given set's special or secondary effects, reliance on unique IOs or set bonuses to fill gaps in performance/functionality, and so on... -
It would be a very good idea to read the FAQ:

Why'd you translate what I wrote, only to respond back in English? Also, I gave a sample wood powerset after that post...

Playing by Iron Man rules. Do I live or die?
biostem replied to AyamSirias's topic in General Discussion
You could create a keybind that makes it very quick and easy to scarf down respites or lucks, or otherwise just stick to a very sturdy AT... -
Well, I think it would offer a different play style, kind of like scrappers or sentinels vs tankers or brutes...
-
I was thinking about this - what if you did the MM primary, (with melee attacks instead of the current ones), and an armor secondary, with this AT's schtick being that the armor powers extended, (perhaps only to a partial degree), to your pets...
-
That's disappointing! I guess she couldn't put any... heart into the gift!

Just as an example, here's a very rough idea for "Arboreal Armor": This set would have a special mechanic called "verdant". The set would make extensive use of the absorb mechanic. Various powers would either provide stacks of verdant or, (if game mechanics permit), increase the rate at which you gain said stacks... 1. Deciduous Armor: A basic s/l resistance toggle. Periodically generates stacks of "verdant". 2. Splinters: Your basic damage aura dealing lethal damage. Provides a taunt effect for tankers & brutes. 3. Evergreen Armor: A toggle that provides resistance to cold, toxic, energy, and negative energy damage, with a lesser amount of resistance to fire damage. Also aids in generating stack of "verdant" - possibly improving the rate at which they are generated, instead of generating the stacks themselves. 4. Stalwart: The requisite status protection power. Also provides repel resistance. Special: Provides absorption for each stack of "verdant' you have on you. 5. Mending: A click heal power. Consumes stacks of "verdant" to increase the healing and provide a temporary defense buff. 6. Shoots: A click power that sends woody spines out in every direction, dealing moderate lethal damage, and for every enemy hit, consumes stacks of "verdant" to provide you with an additional regeneration buff. 7. Sapling: A location based click power that provides a HoT effect to all those in its radius, and further provides stacks of "verdant" if you stand within its AoE. 8. New Growth: Consumes all stacks of "verdant" to instantly provide a large, but short-lived, amount of absorption. 9. Jacked Lumber: You spontaneously encase yourself in extremely tough and durable wood, granting you high levels of resistance to all damage types while buffing your regeneration and endurance recovery. You are immobile while this power is active and cannot activate it while flying. When cancelled, the woody layers violently shatter, dealing heavy lethal damage to any nearby enemies.

Here's the more important question - what would "wood armor" or "water armor" provide - could you give us an idea how such powers would function? Are you thinking they'd be defense based, resistance based, or maybe some hybrid of both? Are you looking more for the wood or water aesthetic, or a particular play style?

I agree insofar as when she was the aloof, somewhat suspicious nosy neighbor in Wandavision, but she, at least IMO, lost almost all of that charm when she revealed her true identity at the end of the series...
-
Maybe the backstory stuff was written before they decided on an in-game model, and never went back to change it... Definitely transhuman, though...
-
Personally, I think something like MM pets, (with the ranged attacks replaced with melee attacks, and possibly some other tweaks), and armor secondary, would be more dynamic to play. Alternatively, replacing the MM primary attacks with some sort of combo-armor powers, then a melee secondary, would also fit a "commander" better, IMO...

I'm confused why they would choose to develop this aspect of the Marvel Universe - Agatha was basically part of Wanda's growth, development, and grieving process, which, IMO, culminated in MOM. Do you think they're going to use the series as a vehicle to introduce other "major players" in the MCU, possibly tying in with Secret War or maybe as an attempt to introduce more magical elements in?

Playing by Iron Man rules. Do I live or die?
biostem replied to AyamSirias's topic in General Discussion
Here's the thing - if "rezzing due to leveling-up" is permitted, then why not awakens? Why not by means of the medi-port system? Frankly, even feeding them intel as a corpse is violating the spirit of an "Iron Man" challenge...
